It got me real good. Thanks Mike Hamilton for watching. -Mike

DEANNA
@@amyers2768 yes ?
This is what happens to a journeyman mechanic when there is too much going on right around him, kinda focused loaners we are! I'm a 71 yr. Old retired life long wrench! Still love to see what's a going on, loved it. Great videos, thanks a lot! "Gary in Oregon"
Jeff is like that also! LOL Thanks for watching Gary. -Mike
Good job Jeff .
Thank you again Jeff.
i love that you give credit were credit was due, most people now a days would say yup he put it in but i got it working, that is a sign of a good person hugs from Ontario Canada
To me its the right thing to do. Thanks for watching Tammy. -Mike
Hahaha the look when you know you just wasted an hour is hilarious 😂
LOL Diana Andrade, Glad nobody could read my mind! Thanks for watching. -Mike
so nice to have a friend with the expertise to put that new engine in .cool move like you said you will have spare parts
Thanks for watching Tom. -Mike
That is a lot harder than it looks. Thanks Jeff
Jeff is a rockstar!! Tell Bob and Greg that their favorite sister and cousin sends her love!
Jeff sure is! I will pass that message along Karen. -Mike
Good job.
I had a great belly laugh and almost spit my beer when you put it in neutral and it started. KISS the problem!
Glad I make ya laugh Tim. Happy to hear you didnt waste your beer! Thanks for watching. -Mike
Jeff was a big help. Wouldn’t have expected anything less than that. These guys did come all the way from California to help with the ranch roundup. Amazing guys. Thanks for the video Mike
Yes Jeff was a huge help. Some of the finest men Ive ever had the pleasure to meet! Thanks for watching Tom. -Mike
Neutral switch has gotten me more than once. Such is life.
LOL at least Im not the only one! Thanks. - Mike

Thank you so much Jeff, you rock👍. I'm more excited about Sunday than a dog itching for fleas🙈🙉🙊🤣🤣.
Glad the ole girls up and running again.
HI Lorie, Jeff does rock! I am also. Running like I think a new one would! -Mike
Congrats on getting the Gator fixed!! It's always a great feeling when things work!
I agree there, Dan 821. Thanks for watching. -Mike
Congrats!! It sure is nice to have a good mechanic's help when you need it.
That it is Robin. Thanks for watching. -Mike
I guarantee you won't forget to put it in neutral again. sometimes it takes things like that for us to learn a lesson that we will never forget. Glad you're up and running again with that gator.
Cant believe I forget to do it to begin with! Thanks. -Mike
What I love is when the steering wheel locks on new cars and the car won’t start ... so many people come in while I’m at work at a Safeway fuel station saying their car won’t start and can I call someone ... they are so amazed when I start the car for them! I always tell them the solution... 😁👍
Mike: it's not luck. You are fortunate to have great friends. You are fortunate enough to recognize that and cultivate the right friendships. You are fortunate to have the patience to analyze a problem and think through to the best solution. We are fortunate enough to learn from you!
Thanks for the kinda words C Laf. -Mike
Ha! Just did the Neutral thing myself a couple months back with the backhoe. Gets us all at one point or another. Best wishes Mike!
Yep it happens. Thanks for watching Ryan. -Mike
Its very rewarding to complete major repairs on a vehicle. Nice work.
It is a great feeling Robert. Thanks for watching. -Mike
Neutral huh...?! Well that’s an hour you’ll never get back LOL 🤣 So glad you got her running again Mike and what nice friends you’ve made with your hunters!! Great bunch of guys! Have FUN hunting with them...enjoy🤗
Susan, they are a great bunch of guys. Salt of the earth types. -Mike
Glad to see the gator is back up and running well (so far!), I must admit, I am a bit disappointed that you didn't put a 6.7L diesel in it. Just rebuild the frame so it can handle the power and boom! You have a monster of a gator!
Love the video! I’m a cattle farmer in the Mexican state of Zacatecas American born. Really love the insight you provide 3rd generation farmer we produce cheese and bulls for harvest. Keep up the high quality videos
Beautiful Job!!! Got her working like new again!!!. 💪 Video Mike, and thanks Jeff!!! 😁😁😁
Thanks Washingtons Global. -Mike
Good job Mike glad you had all the help there to help you get the gator back up and running with a new engine good choice by the way for the farm
Thanks Ernest Dougherty, couldnt have got it done without them! The decision for a new engine was a no-brainer when Jeff and i got to talking about it. Thanks for watching. -Mike
Next time, you should have looked at kei class pkup from Japan. You can get them cheap for use on the ranch. They are mini trucks. Most are 4x4 with 2H, 4H and 4L gearing. They have dif lock and electronic axle lock. Also have heating and bed/box will hold about 700lb for lighter one and dually that will hold 1700lb. Some even have dump feature. Engine being Japanese made will last 100,000 miles. We are seriously looking into getting one for us cost around $5,000 for descent shape. Parts are easy to come by.
Suzuki Jimny. Proper 4wd with low ratio and a roof. I am waiting for the commercial version.
Really surprized to hear that gator engine life is so less! With regular change of engine oil , oil filter and air filter, it should at least drive the gator for 100 thousands Km.
I'm so glad you had help getting your little buggy going again.
Jo Jo in VT 💕😊🍁
I was happy to Jo Jo. Thanks for watching. -Mike
Big thanks to Jeff !!
How are the pigs doing ?
Can’t wait to go hunting with you in next video!! Thanks again for your time and video!! Have a great weekend!!
Love this channel and how real “Our Wyoming ranch” is!
Thanks Kyle. -Mike
I knew I liked Jeff!
He is hard not to like Zach. -Mike
Mike, I just found your channel recently. You are a great story teller and your voice sounds fantastic. I will keep tuning in for your terrific content.
Welcome to the family! Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for watching. -Mike
Hopefully you get as much work out of this engine as from the last one.. 👍
I do also Snapstring. Its run like a champ for a long time. Thanks. -Mike
High fives all round from down under my friend nice job!
Thank You Anna.- Mike
OMG!!! that look had me rolling... aloha all the way from Hawai'i
Haha. Thanks - Mike
I looked at an ATV for running fence and that type use, still got the 47 Willys 4 banger running at over 46,000 miles.
The Yanmar diesel is the way to go, our gator has been on our farm for over 2 decades, it's used every day and even pulled a trailer with a ton of simple syrup for feeding our honey bees. Gasoline gators just can't do it.
Oh, and all we have done to it, new fuel pump new front CV shafts. That's it.
Another project squared away hoss. Dang fine work on both you and Jeff's part. Now get saddled up to bring home the bacon err antelope.
Thanks Theo Running Horse. Bringing home the Antelope is all on them! Thanks for watching. -Mike
I can only imagine the words that were going through your head with that look. Haha
LOL Erik Twite. Im gonna keep there there too. Thanks for watching. -Mike
I'm intrigued by the ramp gate the Gator goes over to get through the fence. Could you show us more of that in a future edition, please?
Patrick, I did a video on that the first year I believe. I will try to revisit the ramp...if I dont forget. Thanks for watching. -Mike
The Hunt will be fun. Hope you include all the Hunters in your quest for a Pronghorn! Awaiting the video. It's been awhile since I got my last pronghorn.
Is definitely good to have some good people that come hunting up there not only do they hunt and just leave they turn out to be pretty good friends that will help you without a question I bet
It sure is William Fortenberry! It sure is. -Mike
That was and awesome video Mike.that face you made was so funny thanks for sharing
A new motor is a great feeling. Like a whole new ride but everything is familiar.
Very true InsaneFirebat, ya hit the nail on the head there. Thanks for watching. -Mike
Mike I don’t know about the break in oil on those. Regular oil change on smaller engines are crucial for longevity. Make sure proper oil viscosity is used because the tolerance is a lot tighter than the older cars were. So if it says 20W don’t use 30. That could damage your new engine.
Use a good quality synthetic oil. Glad to see it's running again.
Yes, we use shell T6 in everything now, great stuff. Also make sure to do all oil and filter changes at recommended intervals...the key to engine longevity.
Glad the Gator is back to work! Hopefully it is as good as new!
Bill, So far it fells like new. -Mike
@@OurWyomingLife I'm very glad to hear that! It should serve you well for years to come. So long as there are no wild drivers and any more rollovers!
Mike, good luck on your antelope hunt. My son and I were out in S. Wyoming yesterday..
Hello Mike
Am glad you got that Gator up and running.
Hi Felicca, Im glad too! Really need the Gator running! -Mike
Good job!
Thanks Brad. Mike
I know that you are glad to have the Gator back and probably feels good to have a new engine in it to. A heads up about the antifreeze. Bought a truck years ago and it had that dexcool in it and it had stuff floating in the top that looked like peanut butter and it was all over the cap. Changed and flushed it out and couldn't get it all out it messed the radiator up and had to get a new one. Been running a non silicate and cutting it with distilled water and using a pit guard and haven't had that problem sence then knock on wood. Thought I'd give you a heads up about that
Poor Jeff!!! Sounds like too many cooks in the kitchen!! Except in this case too many mechanics in the garage!!! LOL
This will be like having a new Gator!!!
How LUCKY are y'all that the Gator made it to October and hunting season before completely layin' down!!!!
Thank heavens for friends!!!!
Not at all Cindy, we all know to keep our opinions to ourselves, and let Jeff do his thing! LOL Yes, We are lucky to have some great friends. Thanks for watching.- Mike
I really enjoy your videos! Keep up the great work.
Glad to see you got your "Ranch Whip" back up and running. Better watch how hard you get down on it, it might just pop some wheelies.
Thanks mike
Your welcome Tom Soifer. -Mike
Nicely done 👍
Thanks Matthew johnson. -Mike
Miles....v/s hours.....I've got 700 hours on my gator...but you guys have alot more space....lots of space! GLad ur getting it handled buddy. I use all synthetic oil in mine...so far so good
We've all experienced that look at 2:56. Usually with a lot of cussin' along with the look.
gryhze gryhze 5:56
Ive had several kawasaki mules over the years that had over 4,000 hours on the original engine. Our current mule got a new crate engine about 2 years ago, bad thing about kawasaki is that they will only warranty crate engine for 90 days if the dealer does not install engine for you!
Hi again! Lol lol and how many guys does it take to change a lightbulb MIKE?!? Thank goodness for all the great help!!!! Can't believe you're not 100% perfect afterall!! Lol! You're so amazing at everything I had to believe there must be something you couldn't do! But pretty sure you'll have that down pat when the next 10 years have you doing it all by yourself!! Lol! Really tho my vote was to get the new one cause it really was the best way to go. Still a nice nice Gator. Have fun buzzing around and hope you can get away to hunt with your friends. Thx as always...
How do you tell how many miles on it
The odometer tells me. Thanks -Mike
Oh our gator doesn’t have that
LMAO, that look. Can't tell you how many times that look has shown up on my face.😂
It is no stranger to my face at all steve hairston! Thanks for watching. -Mike
Safety features always gives you headaches . but ready to go now
Yes sir. Very happy. Thanks -Mike
Good video. I really liked it.
Glad you did Donald, and thanks for watching. -Mike
Hi Mike happy Friday, looking forward to the hunt,God less.
The Gator is back up and running just in time for winter. It was nice of the hunter's to help out.
Just curious, do the antelope graze in the fields on the ranch, or do you guy's have some wooded area? I know nothing about them. Thanks, JohnG
john j the ranch doesnt have any wooded areas. Antelope just graze the open fields. -Mike
Yeah that engine was old more likely the piston rings were just worn out.
Thats what my gut was telling me too. Thanks Mace. -Mike
I am really curious why you didn't take the time to steam clean the frame/gator before working on replacing the engine...and also touching up the paint on the undercarriage?? Then you would of had a "new" gator!! lol Kudos to the motorcycle guy that fixed your gator for you....Love your videos.
It would have just been clean. For a few minutes. Thanks for watching -Mike
DONE YOU JUST LOVE THE SAFTY STUFF!
NO I DONT. LOL It can be a pain in the rear! -Mike
Great job...don’t know how true it is but I was told that Cherry engine was the last name of the founder and his first name was Buster?....hence Buster Cherry
You make a good narrator.
Thank you Roger. -Mike
Was worrying about a seat switch like a tractor but glad you got it. Was that dust, smoke or fog once the test drive happened?
Great video, Mike...dumb luck...LOL
Thanks Warren Beers, and I will take that dumb luck. -Mike
That neutral safety has been a feature since the 1970s that I know of.
Nothing like seeing frost on the ground. I wish we had some right now.
Winter is coming! I wish I could send ya some frost too! -Mike
One of our kubota rtv has over 20k and runs perfect and we smash those things
Good video👍👍
Thanks Marcel. -Mike
I hope your hunters are successful and I hope you find the time to share a video with us of you enjoying some success too on your ranch with a nice antelope👍🥩
Thank you Tattooed Lineman, and I hope to get some footage of them hunting too. Thanks for watching. -Mike
Was just wondering if the gator has a heater and if so does it work well? Thanks for sharing!
Nope. No heater. But you are sitting almost on the engine. It does stay pretty warm. Thanks -Mike
Did it make a huge difference? I have a 825i 4 seater and it is way down on power. Thanks for any advice
We need to do the same on our gator
Drew it wasnt as difficult as I thought it would be. BUT that is easy to say when ya have Jeff there in case of a problem! Thanks for watching. -Mike
Go Honda young man.
Alton Riggs Honda’s break too......
I doubt I got that kind of mileage from my horses!🤣🤣🤣🤣
My neighbor kept calling me over to his property to get his tractor started, same problem, not in neutral
LOL buzzsaw301. Thanks for sharing that! -Mike
I don't know if you realize it ,but if you distill the opening statement you have said "Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow.."
Do you need to pu5 the engine through a break in period?
How is this viable? I mean the price of these is super expensive for just a few years use! Are they really nice?
Mike dont.that make you feel like a fool . Heheheh we all been there before bro.
Thanks for pointing that out Cliff! LOL Good to know Im not the only one! Thanks for watching. -Mike
What did the new engine cost you?
there is no luck involved (at least taht is how i believe) it is all blessings from the Good Lord above
Kinda of Neutral about This video , that face of O shoot , should print n hang on the wall to remember n smile .
LOL MrVailtown. Thanks for watching. -Mike
Fix,Save but Never throw away.
Preaching to the choir here cosmodave69. Thanks for watching. -Mike
Do Honda side by sides last longer?
Galaxy, I dont know. I have never owned one. Mike
$25/ hr. $40 if you watch $100 if you help
SHHH lol lol. Thanks for watching Gene. -Mike
I wonder why John Deere chose those crummy engines;instead of a Honda engine .
I have no clue Copperlocks. Guessing it has something to to with Honda has there own brand, and don't wanna compete there own engines in a JD. Just my thought. -Mike
@@OurWyomingLife Honda don't really care they are the world's largest engine manufacturer;they make to whatever specs you want; FWIW good that you could get a crate motor for your ride
Use Amsoil 0 W 40 and it will last longer.
Dumb luck is worth it's weight in gold.
should have just honed,re-ringed and lapped the valves and new gaskets and sent it for another 4 years for like 500 bucks
