I love the way you allow your kid's to watch & learn while you fix the Gator. My Step Father was a Master Mechanic & grew up starting the same way watching, learning then actually helping drive & fix our car, truck, dump truck, loader etc. I'll never forget those day's lol. My Mom was absolutely useless on that end of the project's lol & I'll never forget how many time's he'd start out having her help him, to only end up saying (excuse my language) GDI go get Terri Lmbo! I loved working on car's but even though I graduated in '71' girl's weren't allowed to take auto shop, mechanical drawing, architecture or even the fun things like Jr. Rodeo (my step uncle was a bull & bronc rider). So I had to learn these things elsewhere lol. To make a long story short. Even today at 66 this month, I can still listen to a car & pretty much tell you what's wrong with it. Those are experiences & memories you & your wife are passing down to your kid's & believe me, they will never forget them, even when they reach my age. That's one of the reasons why your channel is in my top 10 list of the channel's I watch & recommend to other's. Keep up the good work.
Great video, like to see the real world part of ranching. On another note, we just relocated from Texas to Sheridan thanks to your vids. My Deep South wife was convinced that living in Wyoming was like living in the 1800s Wild West but after watching a coule dozen shows she relented. We couldn't be happier. Look forward to stopping by the shop one day to purchase some stuff.
That's a smart move Mr. Mike. You put new life in a paid for machine and you have the other engine for spare parts. You have an awesome family, a great channel, and one heck of a legacy. I guarantee you that your father-in-law would be very proud of the job you and your family are doing.

The best experience is in the shop holding the flashlight as a kid, i was always eager to learn and help as a kid. Every kid needs to get oil and grease on their hands at least once.
Great video, and to the comment about allowing your children in your shop while you are working on engines and such actually does help them develop ideas on how to fix things, I sure learned a lot when it comes to fixing engines and cars just by handing my father tools and that occasional beer lol

I think that is the perfect place to have your kids I have fond memories of doing stuff like that and it showed me how to do so much more even if it wasn't a gator it may be your own car

Im from East los angeles but I'm vacationing out here in Culiacan, Sinaloa. Avout two years ago when i came here I showed my grandparents your channel and they love it man. They have a ranch( Rancho Villarreal) beautiful ranch which includes mountain terrain about 200 acres. They have 27 horses, 40 to 50 cows and three bulls_(Sementales) one of them is actually a son of the former PBR bull "Asteroid". Beautiful bull. Anyways keep it up man. My grandpa also asked if you can recieve any fan mail? He has some pretty good tequila bottles he wants to send you!
I totally agree I was working on my old Ford pickup and the best part was my girlfriend's 6 year old was wanting to help.. yes it was kind of a pain but the job got done and I had a 6 year old covered with dirt and grease. But the very best part was getting a giant hug from a 6 year old covered in dirt ang grease saying we did it Marco we did it I hope he will remember it I know I will

"The Shop" is a great environment. Dunno which is more amazing: (a) handing the ECM to a five-year old, or (b) doing an engine change (albeit a small engine) with your hat on.
I had an 850 RSX gator. Had nothing but trouble. Repairs cost to much to keep. Traded it for used jeep wrangler. Much better and I can drive it on the highway.
I see you've gotten a light bar on the front of the gator. More than likely was on months ago and I never noticed lol. My Honda foreman 500 is at like 1200 hours and it started starting harder start of the year and I found if I churn the starter a little then start the engine it fires right up. Must be fuel pressure or something but at least it's not as bad as your problem.
Shh not to loud the Foreman may hear ya! LOL Hope it stays like that for a long time and doesnt decide to its needs a new "??". I did a video on the light bar, I got it for Christmas last year(2018) installed it right before calving. Thanks for watching. - Mike Edit for refreshed memory!

I work a full time job and we have horses,goats, chickens and rabbits. That along with gardening I don't have time to watch the long videos. So with the new channel I won't miss a video here. Today i just received two more tool sets for the mobile set that i have been building. next summer i'll bring with a good amount of tools to help out on a project. If you get a chance online lookup equipment specialists co. Duluth . Everyday is interesting. Tell Erin we said hi and hope all is well.
Remember kids the true purpose of an engine hoist is to test the tensile strength of everything you forgot to disconnect. And yes I learned that the hard way. You would be amazed how much weight a 3 inch long quarter inch around piece of steel can hold
When I helped my brother work on his car I thought "Hey I might learn something." But no, all I learned was how to hold a flashlight and get yelled at.
how can a 2011 gator need a new motor? i have a 2010 polaris sportsmen 850 with 6k on it, the motor is just fine. i have 2 send mine in for gear shifter work.. but 1 day i hope 2 get a gator :)

I don't know why farmers and ranchers buy those side by sides. You can get a Jeep Wrangler for same price and have very little maintenance. Maybe you can't claim a Jeep as a farm expense.

We have a late 90's JD Gator on are little farm and we do everything with it.
The hobby farmer we do the same with our Gator. Gets used everday .- Thanks Mike
