Depending on how much strength is required, I'm not picky about a small number of larger chunks, and it does seem to work pretty well for a quick shred for sure. I have severe limitations with my hands/wrists and can't cut meat/veggies or push down. If it requires more strength than opening a milk bottle or pushing a hand soap pump, I can't do it right now.

Put a wet washrag under shredder. Keeps it from slipping. Silicon pie mat would work too.

Pot smokers have been using a smaller version of that device for years to grind up buds so they can roll joints.

If you have something like this that slips around, put a wet paper towel or shelf liner underneath it. I used to have a piece of shelf liner that I would put under my cutting board whenever I used it.

If you place your food outside of the center it shreds more evenly (any stoner knows this)
Could you make a quick salsa with that thing?
    Or grind herbs?
Would be entertaining to see what else you can do with it, using things in a way they're not intended for is always good content.

This seems to work pretty well, and I might have to buy this as a gift for a few people. Nice review, for sure.

I've seen a small version of this for shredding herbs, although I've only seen it used for weed. Imagine the weed you could shred with this thing!

I’m gonna go broke watching you…lololol I just bought the shred machine. It hasn’t come yet. The hub loves pulled pork sandwiches. I never can seem to shred well. Now I will be able to. Thanks guy! You’re the best reviewer.

Can't help but snicker at the resemblance to devices used to shred other green things.
