Cecile used her powers to read Barry and Meena's emotions and said "I CAN FEEL THEIR GRIEF" right after she was told they witnessed their lovers dying. That's how stupid this character is.....
Honestly she ruined the show for me along with a ton of other character but her mind reading crap is so weird and forced. Great actress though but it's like she is a big part of team Flash cause of reasons.
I really think giving Cecile powers was one of the worst things to happen to this show, because now instead of showing the characters emotions, she's there to just tells us how they feel

@@zemox2534 When most people can tell feelings from facial expressions, body language, tone of voice and all that someone who can sense feelings isn't impressive. And they're already making her a Mary Sue with other characters calling her "the most powerful meta." In a world of people with superstrength and speed, the ability to create tornadoes, shape shifting, time travel, controlling fire and ice and so on Cecile being the most powerful I can't buy.
Also the way they concluded the Diggle storyline… wow. I guess they initially started the storyline (in the Arrow finale) to open the door for a Green Lantern show starring Diggle. But when they realized it’s not happening, they decided to write this anticlimactic ending where Diggle becomes a clone of Vin Diesel in Fast & Furious.
Honestly, if they had made it so Tom Cavanaugh was the one who lost his memory and it ended with Matt Letscher ripping out of him, it would've been the best scene of all time.
Funny the showrunner of Superman and Lois is Todd Helbing who was one of the showrunners on the Flash from S2- S4 and sole showrunner on S5 which was not the best so idk about him they should leave him on Superman and Lois
@@Rc-niner-kd8hw Andrew Kreisberg was sole showrunner in S1 and then in S2 Todd and his brother Aaron also became showrunners along with Kreisberg and a woman named Gabrielle Stanton and in S3 it was Kreisberg and the Helbings and then in S4 it was Kreisberg and Todd but then Andrew got fired and then Todd became the sole showrunner
The showrunner of Superman & Lois, Todd Helbing was one of the writers of the Flash during S1 and in S2, he was promoted to a showrunner, along with Andrew Kriesberg, from S2-S4, it was Todd and Kriesberg but Kriesberg was fired halfway through S4. The thing that people forget to mention though, is the fact that Eric Wallace came onto at the start of S4 and he was promoted to a showrunner in S5. Everything from S6 and onwards is Eric Wallace as the sole showrunner.
@@Dhruv-qw7jf Todd Helbing is the best writer who’s ever worked on the show, but the long seasons left him overworked. Superman and Lois is good because the show has a lower episode count.
As a person who loves this show. I'm just ready for it to be over because Eric Wallace introduces so many storylines that have the potential to work but end up being ass 75% of the time. It also feels like he genuinely doesn't know how to write any female characters on this show. Look Cecile and Allegra, terribly written characters and Iris was just wasted once again.
Like a big ugly hulk woman clunky thicc thawne suit rainbow powers albeit cool looks a bit funny but honestly this season sucked so much they threw away all the good characters and gave us crappy ones and I honestly hated the new cast og season 1 cast was great this season 8 was just bad
I remember when the actress of Cecile was added to the show. I remembered her from Season 1 and I was happy for her. They've made her character writing ABYSMAL since Season 5 though. The only time she was normal was in the episode where Barry got old. Her heart to heart with him was touching. Aside from that, Cecile's powers are god awful and they really drag down every scene they're involved in. I can only HOPE they write her better next season.
Fax even season 3 one of the weakest seasons towards the back half was still sorta entertaining.and the fact that Jay was zoom was actually crazy when it happened
I feel like Tom's terrible acting is more of a directing issue than an acting issue. Tom was a phenomenal actor in the earlier seasons for RF (not to mention he played like 10 different wells's and played each and every one of them flawlessly) and it just doesnt make sense for an actor that good to suddenly acting terribly if it's not a poor director/showrunner choice that he has no control over. In my opinion Tom's an incredible actor who's trying his best with some of the worst writing that's existed in this show It saddens me that Eric Wallace somehow managed to turn the entire fandom against one of the best actors in the entire arrowverse
@@fanzon7660 Everyone used to say Tom was the best part of the show until Eric conveniently stepped in and yet people still cannot make the connection for some reason.
i still remember that one scene in the trailer for the finale where cecile said, "OMG you want revenge" yh bitch no shit, his wife was just killed by the same guy who killed his mother, is that such a fucking surprise
The last episode was good until the fight, other than Cecile being like you want revenge against the man who killed your mom and wife, what a horrible thing to want. Also I couldn’t contain my laughter when death storm revealed he was evil and blue
Cecile is slowly starting to be the most hated and dumbest pointless character in the entire show after Iris and Allegra, why the hell the writers are so OBSESSED with giving everyone super powers in this goddamn show? Like what is this, the new fucking X-Men or something?
With Allegra it's because he created the comic version of her so wants to force the show version on everyone. I think he just fancies Cecile's actress.
12:39 the only reason why Allegra and Chester are on this show is because Eric Wallace created those characters in the comics and it's like a form of comic book nepotism by forcing characters into a show that have no place for them.
Yup and I hated how entitled she was acting upset that she couldn't read minds anymore and the other characters sympathized with her and wanted to help her get her privacy violating power back.
*You know, The Flash is 8 seasons in and I still don't understand why the writing is so bad. It's like... Do the writers not learn anything from season to season. Honestly, the bad writing tropes have just gotten old. I hope season 9 is the final season because the show just doesn't even feel like The Flash anymore.*
Say what you want aabout arrow, they did eperiment and try things, and olive being moody and hypocritical and sometimes off, can be written off as ptsd. Thats why i think arrow is a bit messy ometimes but good, and the flash, not, they try to reinvent too little .
Ironically the new head writer, Eric Wallace is storied in Hollywood. He’s worked the studio best for decades. He says that his target audience is children, but he is just not a good writer. I don’t despise him as a writer. I’ve found some of his annoying habits to be quite charming. My main annoyances are that he is religious and has turned the show from scientific to religious over his tenure, he doesn’t seem to want any conflict amongst his main characters. They all get along to the point of removing any tension, and, worst of all, he’s repetitive for no reason. The amount of times he repeats key words in his scripts is insane. “Love, faith, level up, team Flash.” Fucking hell. Get a dictionary. He doesn’t have some qualities, though. The graphic novel format is interesting. The villains are decent, the action scenes have improved, the costume is there. He’s alright.
6:38 I disagree since in that one episode in S2 where Barry goes back in time to learn about the speed equation from Eobard Thawne of S1. Tom was just as good as he was in S1. But yeah, ever since his next appearance, which was in Crisis on Earth-X, his performance just wasn't as good. I don't know if it was because in S4 they brought in Eric Wallace as a writer, and Tom was just told to make his Eobard more light hearted or goofier but his presence just hasn't felt the same since then. In S5, it kinda still worked because Eobard was supposed to look like he's at his lowest and in the most powerless, vulnerable state that he's ever been, but ever since then, every time they bring back Eobard as Tom it has just felt like crutch that they just won't let go of.
I likes noras morally dubiou mentor thawne and wish it was genuinly being a kinda petty revenge while genuinly caring totrain her, proodf he is a better dad to her than barry, and getting not good but better in the process. And barry dealing with that yes, he was wrong about it. I liked that thawne and that was th last good one, (and o ciourse make him boring evil contrived masterplanner insead developing a real lasting interesting relationship with nora and flirting witth his heroic side. That had potential, A not just evil thawn. But no its boring not conlicted evil thawn all over again. And it genuinly could be a good character progress and interaction with an thawne that wants to be more heroic and is harder to dismiss as evil and his anger . Like why did you make thawn evil again, even normal good thawne could be incrediby intereting i you have barry conront that and thawne. Strugglinng, ..
Same old, same old. Barry was kinda confident to start the season. Sometimes kinda overconfident but he was overpowered at times. But he gets nerfed for plot purposes. As always they sideline Flash way too much. Also Frost dying and then Caitlin trying to bring her back seems like it was forgotten. Also the Iris is just dropped and picked back up randomly. Barry was like "oh yeah my wife is sick or about to die" after not mentioning her for long periods lol Thawne again....Wells keeps coming back over and over. UGGGGGGGGGHHH
They needed to fire Eric Wallace a long time ago like he tanked this show and ruined it's legacy. I just hope this ends after season 9 cause I can't take watching this show where the actors don't look like they give two craps. This show is literally suffering and they won't put it out of it's misery lol. I want to quit watching this crap but I invested 8 years into this show so it's too late to quit now. Might as well see how this crap will end and hopefully there will be a good ending but I really doubt it.
Agreed. To think they wrote the finale as if the series was ending is so heartbreaking after how great seasons 1 and 2 were. Let’s be honest, it kinda went downhill a long time ago. I can’t stand those phone it in endings
@@stevekmusic6137 I actually liked season 3 a good amount. The acting and stories I felt were good. Season 4 is when I felt it became bad with glimpses of greatness until season 7 which was just awful with no redeeming qualities. Season 8 is bad too and the acting gets worse every season cause even the actors are tired of this crap. It's sad cause this show had so much potential and they really wasted it
The one thing that I hate about The Flash now is that it keep using the topic of love and pep talk to motivate Barry to do something and for it be to used to defeat the villain. It's been overused and I can tell that many people on here, including myself, are getting tired of it
He is the Paragon of Love, do you think he will just stop being loving? There is nothing wrong about trying to be kind to everyone. I see the audiences of comic book media are not very interested in being good and kind to others. You learned that when you are younger, why did you guys grow up and forget it? Violence only "resolves" something because one side will be too injured to continue, not because it resolves the conflict.
@@twilightdream It is not overused because it became one of Barry's traits. It seems you and the audience missed the point about it. By you and the original commenter's logic, is fighting also overused? Because it is the most used way to "defeat" villains in media.
@@Oliveiraverde It's ironic that you're criticizing my and OP's logic when you're the one who is making assumptions about how kind people are based on their criticism of bad writing in a show.
Legit whenever Cecile is on screen i just expect a line of “I CAN FEEL” like yes Cecile, we can see that its called subtlety. I don’t hate her character shes just annoying and feels so convenient for whatever they need now for the show.
Well Eric Wallace did say at the DC Fandome panel for the Flash S7 that he wanted more young people who are new to comic books watch the show, I think what he really meant was that he wanted little children to watch the show and wanted to gear it towards them, and I guess he was successful in doing that but I don't think many children nowadays actually watch TV so that's just a bad creative decison lmao.
Also if like teen titans shows anything, the best family shows dont hold back, they dont look down on audience and are pretty oten more mature than adult show even, just in an aproviate way that is more suggestivve than showing.
@@marocat4749 even most of Arrow episodes were rated PG with some going up to TV-14, but never an R rating. And that show had a lot of adult themes in it. The darkest episode of Teen Titans (Haunted) and Arrow (Kapiushon), I think, are both rated PG.
Regarding Reverse-Flash: I feel like the character has 2 modes, with each actor playing a different version: One is the manipulative, calculative mastermind who always has a plan, and the other is the more over the top, power hungry aggressive speedster guy. Tom Cavanagh played the mastermind version (in seasons 1 and 5 for example), while Matt Letscher played the more aggressive version (in seasons 2, 3 and Legends). And in my opinion, regardless of who I think is the best version, I think that each actor plays his version the best. Now I usually don’t have a problem with them bringing back Cavanagh, because he is generally good in the role. But my problem here is that ever since he lost his powers in Armageddon (and also during his short appearance in season 7), Thawne became this angry obsessive version of his, but instead of bringing back Letscher to play him like he did before, they brought back Cavanagh. And that doesn’t work, because Cavanagh just doesn’t fit that version. If they just switched the actors, those episodes would have worked a lot better in my opinion. Nothing against Cavanagh though. If the writers had Letscher play the super manipulative version of Thawne, I would have probably been disappointed as well.
It’s simply dumb tho that he has two modes, he’s one person with the only difference being he has someone else’s face on as a disguise (and then later just because he feels like it) so his personality shouldn’t change based on who’s face he has.
@@penisnt I think the personality change is simply due to age and experience. Remember that by season 1, Thawne had been Harrison Wells for 14 years. He was forced to wait until the Particle Accelerator is finished and Barry becomes The Flash. It's safe to assume that during that time he became much more patience and wiser than his younger version (the Letscher version), who is more aggressive.
I will say one scene I really liked from this season was when Barry first met Meena since even when it’s still normal time we see her take off, Barry does like a second or two later and still gets there before her, and when Meena throws lightning at him, Barry just jumps over it with a smile on his face, would’ve liked more of that out of Barry CW
Someone with super speed shouldn’t be losing to regular humans. The villains for the seasons should of been: S1 - Reverse Flash, the way season one was put is actually good, and the end of S1 should open up the multiverse into S2. S2 - Barry should travel the multiverse after the wormhole sucks him into another earth, and tackle otherworldy villains to get back to the people he loves. Branch out the feeling of multiple earths. No big bad. S3 - Barry has to now come back after being gone and deal with the changes of his absence, maybe a villain terrorizing the city. This is where you’d introduce zoom, and why zoom? Speedster. This also shows Barrys own fucking life as he learns all the changes and how the city acts without a flash. S4 - Theres no big bad, but barry is navigating his personal life. Let us see barry allens struggle, maybe start the iris love HERE (because iris and barry didnt take two seasons in the comics…) Have the rogues be the reoccurring opponents of Barry this season. Let him face then all individually, then they band together and must be stopped. They all have gadgets that can stop barry so it can’t be hard to think he can’t just speed and knock them out. Build up the buildings instead of just having them attack the bank randomly because point a or point b. Season 5 - The thinker should be here, another villain Barry cant just beat. If their gonna do the shit where hes always been there, this should be planned from season one. Else just introduce him slowly with a motive. Make a smart reason for him to beat barry, and make barry break his limits to outsmart the thinker (maybe something devoe cant caculate like emotion since this show is so cw.) Season 6 - Something epic to see would be to see a failsafe plan of the thinker where he loses but wins. He releases gorilla grodd with similiar intelligence to his own, and king shark is also present. King shark will be easy somewhat but grodd will be an issue for multiple episodes. Also Barry will deal with thinkers backup plan, really highlighting devoes intelligence. Season 7 - Reverse Flash (another version) which will actually make sense comes to the timeline and messes with the timeline again. Barry has to figure out what is going on because for him things are just changing. Similar to what the show actually did with the eobard switching spots with barry would work. Have thawne kill iris at the end of the season before leaving. Have thawne win, barry needs this. Season 8 - Have barry go back in time and stop thawne from killing iris, causing flashpoint. Actually stick with the flashpoint shit this time and have it have a big impact. Season 9 - Result of flashpoint has a villain who is supposed to be in jail not in jail. The villain kills august hearts family or sum shit (have august heart be there since like a way earlier season.) Then speedforce storm as result from flashtime comes to punish barry, barry is trapped for some time until he somehow gets out (cw.) He comes back to a speedster named godspeed killing criminals, who he doesn’t know is august. Now barry has a reason to talk to the villain (once godspeed is revealed.) Godspeed should be a different speedster from zoom and thawne. And this season should be different, when random villains pop up godspeed should be showing up murdering the shit out of them. Kind of like a flash with no morales, and maybe flash recruits godspeed as a sidekick briefly before godspeed turns back evil. Later turns out the speedforce created more speedsters, one named “Wally West.” Barry recruits wally snd they work together to beat august. Season 10 - Barry trains kid flash to be a great speedster, kid flash actor should be as young as grant gustin was in S1 except younger. Why? So in two years kid flash becomes the new flash with his own show. S10 maybe Iris gets pregnant, and this should be the last season. If grant was 18 for s1, kid flash should be 16 and in two years start a kid flash show in the future. The villains for the sequel are: Abra Kadabra (I argue they can make him not get one shotted. Also hes a future villain.) Mirror Master and Future Flash, mirror master kills flash in future, future flash goes to past to stop it. Imagine wally going against a future version of his mentor. Reverse Flash should be back for one season as the sole hig bad, make it work. He will create intertia in another season where he makes another appearance. Imo, the kid flash show would be more interesting. Anywhoo thats how I would of done shit.
one of the biggest crimes of that season was ditching thawnes original suit design. while his new suit is more comic accurate i think the season one suit looked so much better in my opinion and if they had to give Tom a new suit for bts reasons I think they should’ve translated the old design onto the new material. The black fade really made his old suit stand out so much more
'm surprised you didn't say much about Caitlin resurrecting Frost, which really annoyed me. The plot just fully character assassinates Caitlin in numerous ways and might be kinda worse than Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi. I mean, the premise is her bringing back someone, which was a big mistake she should've learned from Deathstorm. Also, she stopped Cisco from doing the exact same thing in season 3. But the worst part is she even tries to tempt Barry into bringing back his parents, which just sounds like what a villain says.

This video essay spoke to my soul. I feel the exact same way about The Flash show. It's first three-ish seasons were very good, but it just kept getting worse. And as a super fan of the character of The Flash I've been forcing myself to sit through the show, but it is a chore. I wish they would just thin the supporting cast, ditch the whole STAR Labs setting and focus on Barry dealing with well written enemies and challenges. But, this is the CW, and they need their angsty melodrama
I agree with everything you said about Cecile. She has become the worst character in the show’s history and every scene she’s in is literal cringey garbage. I liked her character when she first debuted on the show but she literally gets worse with every passing episode.
I honestly hated what they did to thawne like he used to be such a cool and calculating villain like even in season 5 he was cold and intimidating but in season 8 he just feels like a power rangers villain and has no motive at all anymore
The problem is that Eric Wallace doesn't know how to write actual people. I thought it was because he didn't know how to write couples but it's actually everyone! The Flash has a copy/paste format for all it's villains (aka misunderstood people) as well as it's heroes and it's kind of incredible that I missed it before. What I mean is that they made all the supporting cast at Barry's level (badly) and they did the same to the villains! It's why Tom Cavanagh's Thawne is like watching a cartoon villain, because Eric Wallace has reduced him to the level of the other villains! Yes, they have different powers and motives but they are written the same exact way!!!! It's like putting a different skin on a Mortal Kombat character, there are differences but it's essentially the same still. It didn't happen all at once - it took several season to get as bad as it is now. Iris West-Allen called it: "Your not the Flash Barry. We are."
Cecil is by far the worst aspect of this latest season. The biggest mistake the show ever made was her keeping her powers after birth, which also doesn’t make sense and was never explained as to why she did. DeVoe said she would lose her powers, someone who thinks at the speed of light, and yet he’s wrong? She never needed powers and her having them destroyed the good character they had

I like Dr. Meena, but I don't think we need any more speedsters. I thought her grief was glossed over and rushed; I know she's not a major character but still. Unfortunately the show is several seasons past the point where death means anything: Iris dies all the time. Thawne always dies. Joe was dead early on and that was interesting until they switched it. Frost dying meant nothing. Even if she stays/stayed dead, we're not even losing an actor because the same actress is Caitlyn.
I hated the final arch because of 2 reasons 1: no stakes how I’m I supposed to be invested in Iris time sickness when her future kids and her future self are alive and well 2: all the grief and suffering caused in the final arch could have been prevented if the “heroes of team flash had just let Thane die from his time cancer that he caused on himself.
Fuck, the last episode was so disappointing. I was so excited to watch it that I even imagined part of it. I thought he would start where 19 left off, Meena would be devastated and Thawne and Barry confronting each other until Eobard starts to vibrate and says "Catch me if you can" referring to 1x09 and would have the most comic battle accurate between the 2 in the entire show as in the FlashPoint animation.
I really love the portrayal of both Eobard actors, I think they both give the character their best, but I agree with you that Tom's gotta go. Not out of personal preference or something, it's simply the *right* choice, Tom's face *isn't* the real Eobard Thawne, him being the default Thawne is possibly the biggest retcon/plot hole in the entire Arrowverse
Superman and Lois is a godsend. It's amazing we can have a down-to-earth superhero show about a family instead of dark and philosophical sht ALWAYS. Also Rest In Peace Gotham.
I feel like Tom cavanaughs ET peaked with that first Nora Allen season, when he’s explaining how/why/when he started to manipulate Nora and pretty much Ed fucked her over, shit aged like goddamn wine.
Agreed with everything, especially the Wellsobard being OVERUSED, like I get it Tom is right there, but jeez use Matt once in a while, yes I Liked the og Eobard storyline with Meena, but wasting him like that just to bring back Tom for RF for the 500th time is just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo booooooooooooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrring. This season was a lot better than season 7. It wasn’t the best season of the show but wasn’t the worst thing the show has given us. Personally I don’t think that Eric Wallace should be show runner as he doesn’t know how to write certain storylines, characters, and epic moments and he constantly contradicts himself in interviews. Also Bart and Nora added absolutely nothing to the plot of Its All Negative, the only reason they were there is because they wrote the finale to be a series finale in case they didn’t get a season 9 and they wanted them there for what was possibly the very end of show
@@stevekmusic6137 I agree, the only thing Jay Garrick added to the episode was he brought Iris to Barry so he could calm down. Meena did basically nothing this arc, like what was the point of here being there and how come they couldn’t just give her organic speed the same way they gave it to August Hart/Godspeed last season. The reason Jay, Nora, and Bart were there is because Eric Wallace wanted them there cause there was a good chance that the season 8 finale would’ve been the series finale at the time they wrote it, heck they tried to get Wally to be in the finale but the actor was busy.

Thawne worked well as a Season 1 villain--his Season 2 appearance was confusing and empty AT BEST, and everything else that they've done with him as been mediocre to crappy. Supporting characters have ALWAYS been The Flash's biggest problem. Even from the beginning, stories about Caitlin and Cisco and (somewhat) Joe and (later) Ralph just SUCKED. Making Chester and Allegra main characters was a poor decision that has caused the CRINGIEST moments of the whole show.
The worst part of this season for me besides all of the annoying Cecile shit, was definetly them wasting Matt letscher to make Tom the Reverse Flash again and have him be pushed around by the dumbass forces. Thawne use to be the big mastermind behind the scenes pulling the strings, cold and calculated and saying the right things to get what he wants. You're right, Matt should have been the Reverse Flash from season 3 onward, Tom as thawne literally makes no sense at all. I'm sure Eric Wallace knows that the fans have been wanting Matt to come back forever now and then he finally brings him back just to waste him for a stupid nonsensical horror scene. The final fight was so stupid as well, mind you it's not as bad as the lightsaber duel in season 7, but it still sucks. I wish the forces negative and positive would all get killed off aside from the speedforce but stop having the speedforce just be Nora and change faces like in season 2 and 3.
what i don’t like is that the writers make the characters so weird and forced. Like people hate Cecile so much like jesus christ….she Chester and Allegra are great characters but the it’s how the writers are writing them. I hate hearing how bad side characters are…blame the writers not the actual characters. The show is getting better but not as good as it used to be.
So... I agree with the majority of what was said here however: In spite of it being for the sake of convenience & even as a Deux Ex Machina, Cecil has some use in this season more than exposition based parentheticals (parentheticals are essentially cue points in scripts designed to give an idea of how the dialogue should come across emotionally & give an idea how a character is feeling at that point in time); so yeah, turning her into an expository version is a huge sign of how the writing has gotten lazier & shouldnt be a thing but she's not completely useless as there was that Deux Ex Machina with the Positive Forces & she was also used to track Deathstorm. Allegra's non-main story arc is mostly a rivalry with another journalist & her needing to step up in her job even more so as Iris either is in Coast City looking for a new meta or lost in time, effectively making Allegra the acting CEO. And it is a side plot with an unlikeable character. However in the episode that introduces Meena/ Fast Track; she faces down the Arranyas (the gang of other light metas, who were previously seen as contract hitmen for Black Hole in S6). And she gains a victory that concludes her side story. I think the in-between episodes have some of the worst content in the season overall & in comparison, the Negative Arc isnt as much of a drag. In fact, while I agree that Letscher isnt used enough, I like both actors in the role of Thawne. I like the fact that the Flashpoint Thawne was given the story he was given in this as he essentially had a different lesson by work base release from Speed Force Prison, seen firstly in LoT, shown again in flashbacks after Chester throws up the message from Ray Palmer. And a re-vertsion is detrimental to that arc. So while it wouldve been nice if Matt didnt get the short straw in terms of runtime usage, the very fact this Negative Arc lasts essentially 4.something episodes (given the planted seeds with the time sickness & built up from Eobard losing his powers); length wasnt going to be helpful either way. Personally, I think that couldve been fixed by not having in the filler episodes to some extent but this whole 3 novel way of dividing seasons is always problematic overall. One more thing, Frost wasnt a character that viewers would like to see go in comparison to others; but it kinda makes sense from a production standing as they have to double the amount of time of shooting Danielle's scenes. Plus extra time to get the hair & make-up on her for the time of shooting all of Frost's scenes. Either way, storywise, they already had her lose Frost only to have her return so lets just say, I felt as much unaligned from what theyre hoping viewers to feel for Frost's death as I did for Cisco's departure (grantedly for different reasons: Frost- cuz its obvious shed be back as long as the actress was kept on board; Cisco- a feeling of well it finally happening as his character became useless after the X3 rip-off Mutant Cure Arc).
I wish they would just give Cecile a superhero identity from the comics. I hate when they give secondary characters powers but they have no comic counterpart.
Agreed. It was already on shaky ground but it really went off the rails into a crap quality. Unfortunately I feel like Arrow is the only Arrowverse show to have more good seasons then bad.
I think the decline of this show was extremely inevitable. The production schedule of this show just doesn't permit for planned out, multi season storylines which it desperately need. If they had the time to properly plan this show out, we'd see Matt Letscher's Eobard develop overtime and see adaptations of so many iconic storylines until the show comes full circle in the finale which should have been Crisis on Infinite Earths as foreshadowed in the newspaper. It's honestly a miracle that the show had more than one good season. Also, it's a shame we never got a full Rogues storyline.
i think they should stick with despero as main villain in season 8. And throw all useless sidekick and characters. Make a simple story but interesting to watched
Even though season 8 wasn't perfect, I still think it was a lot better than 7 and more enjoyable, the Armageddon 5 part special and the second half of the season was very good, the finale was solid but slightly anticlimactic in some parts but mostly watchable. I wasn't a fan of the Bart and Nora episodes as I felt they were old stories that have recycled, the Deathstorm arc was excellent and should have been the main one after Armageddon as it had so much potential to epic but I was very disappointing that it ended so quickly. Aside from that, a much better improvement from season 7 and looking forward to season 9 especially as it could be the final one. I'm super praying that we get Eddie Thawne as Colbalt Blue as the main villain 🙏 Great review 👍 Keep up the good work 👊
I just watched the last 8 episodes on shrooms 🍄 last night. Right after Frost's death. I'll tell you one thing. Nothing anyone says could ever change how epic that experience was. I loved every minute of it. I've spent nights binging movies or shows on shrooms and last night was by far the best experience.
My flash suit: season 4 suit but make the red a little brighter, fix the mask to more of that season 1-3 mask slim look, remove the zipper and make the suit less baggy and then add the gold bootss
Bro,I have been watching you for about 2 years. You deserve way more subscribers then what you got right now.You put more work than content creators with a million subscribers.Just goes to show us that you actually care about this channel.
Cecile should be used for emotions that aren't visible on the character, or obvious. Not blatant emotion that we don't need someone else telling us about
The new Team Flash just absolutely SUCKS. Nora and her brother are annoying. Chester is boring, Cecile getting powers should never have happened, and that girl with the light powers ruins the show. At least Ralph added comedy relief
i think everyone had a better season 8 written in their mind with the promise of the legion of zoom. Also i never cared that much for frost, if they killed caitlin the reaction would be fit because caitlin was a part of the team for a long time, and frost only there since season 7 (i count from the part she got her own body)
I think this season's Forces storyline was a HUGE improvement of last season's. I always thought it was a cool idea and I wished we got to see the Forces becoming sentient like The Speed Force, taking the forms of people the avatars were close to. The Still Force was definitely the most interesting Force of nature and the writers have taken notice. Deon can time travel, stop time, see the present, past and future, age people up, mentally age people down and make them lose their memory and create a time bubble. And they took full advantage of his powers. Along with the negative Forces. Also, I think the Reverse Flash's All-Forces costume was meant to be ugly. And Chester and Chillblaine with good writing were the only good ally characters of the show.
There aren't as many bad filler episodes and the story arcs r actually good in this season. I'm glad Armageddon wasn't the highlight of the season. This has been one of the better seasons of the Flash consistently in a while
The only things i didn't like bout this season is the beginning, the end was,not the finale but like episode 18 brought back the vibes and spiced the season up a bit.
They should have givin Barry a slightly different suit during the part when he had all the forces. Maybe something similar to Golden Red Death or the blue lantern suit or something
the only issue i have with this season is them making cecile a huge character, them making Chester more than what he should be and Allegra just doing nothing but also something. But you gotta admit the allegra episode this time around was actually good. Season 7's one sucked but this one was actually pretty good and interesting. Season 8 was great to me not perfect like season 1 and 2 but it was up to at least season 3 quality which means it was great
Cecile used her powers to read Barry and Meena's emotions and said "I CAN FEEL THEIR GRIEF" right after she was told they witnessed their lovers dying. That's how stupid this character is.....
Honestly she ruined the show for me along with a ton of other character but her mind reading crap is so weird and forced. Great actress though but it's like she is a big part of team Flash cause of reasons.
And then she’s shocked when they want revenge like seriously are you emotionally stunted🤦🏾♂️
Giving her powers in the first place has really been one of the dumbest and lamest writing choices from this show.
Where is her Fake daughter jenna?

@@zemox2534 When most people can tell feelings from facial expressions, body language, tone of voice and all that someone who can sense feelings isn't impressive. And they're already making her a Mary Sue with other characters calling her "the most powerful meta." In a world of people with superstrength and speed, the ability to create tornadoes, shape shifting, time travel, controlling fire and ice and so on Cecile being the most powerful I can't buy.
Not to mention that they literally insisted Cecile wasn’t gonna have long term powers lmao
Is there a character on this show that doesn’t have powers at this point?
Also the way they concluded the Diggle storyline… wow.
I guess they initially started the storyline (in the Arrow finale) to open the door for a Green Lantern show starring Diggle. But when they realized it’s not happening, they decided to write this anticlimactic ending where Diggle becomes a clone of Vin Diesel in Fast & Furious.
Couldn’t have said it Better myself I haven’t watched any these shows since arrow ended and when I heard this I was just like whatever lol
Lmao
As someone who doesn't watch arrow, this side plot was unbelievably out of place.
Diggle gets his own show, or it was planned where tht could have fit way better .
Diggle will be done justice on superman and Lois next season i hope
Honestly, if they had made it so Tom Cavanaugh was the one who lost his memory and it ended with Matt Letscher ripping out of him, it would've been the best scene of all time.
Eric Wallace has decent ideas but the execution just flops
The final season of this show needs to be given to whoever looks over Superman and Lois. It needs good effects and story to put the show to rest
Funny the showrunner of Superman and Lois is Todd Helbing who was one of the showrunners on the Flash from S2- S4 and sole showrunner on S5 which was not the best so idk about him they should leave him on Superman and Lois

And like the worst use of deanna troy, whi ii like, but thats a meme for reasons.
thank you cecile let me know if i'm on fire as well
I remember when the actress of Cecile was added to the show.
I can only HOPE they write her better next season.
who’s gonna tell him
i feel like we need the mystery aspect of the villains. it made the show more popular with all the theories.
Fax even season 3 one of the weakest seasons towards the back half was still sorta entertaining.and the fact that Jay was zoom was actually crazy when it happened
100% agreed.
Season 3 was underrated
Savitar was the only villains identity they did not reveal to the audience until the heroes found out.
Every villain is secretly Thawne. Mystery revealed.
I agree, Matt Letcher is the best Eobard Thawne... And completely ruined his arc, even his redemption in Legends...
In my opinion Tom's an incredible actor who's trying his best with some of the worst writing that's existed in this show
It saddens me that Eric Wallace somehow managed to turn the entire fandom against one of the best actors in the entire arrowverse
Eric Wallace need to be fired immediately
Yeah it’s Eric’s fault I would not blame Tom for it. Everyone used to say Tom was the best part of the show and now fans have turned on him.
@@fanzon7660 Everyone used to say Tom was the best part of the show until Eric conveniently stepped in and yet people still cannot make the connection for some reason.

i still remember that one scene in the trailer for the finale where cecile said, "OMG you want revenge"
yh bitch no shit, his wife was just killed by the same guy who killed his mother, is that such a fucking surprise
The last episode was good until the fight, other than Cecile being like you want revenge against the man who killed your mom and wife, what a horrible thing to want. Also I couldn’t contain my laughter when death storm revealed he was evil and blue
What's wrong with deathstorm this was the first good looking comic accurate suit in a while and that arc was full of mystery
I get the first part, but your reaction to Deathstorm is weird. That was a super comic accurate look.
@@CrossOutBryce I respect comic accuracy, but things don’t always translate well from book to screen. It just looked kind of goofy to me.
Cecile is slowly starting to be the most hated and dumbest pointless character in the entire show after Iris and Allegra, why the hell the writers are so OBSESSED with giving everyone super powers in this goddamn show? Like what is this, the new fucking X-Men or something?
Lol agreed
Bro facts like why is she out in the field doing shit when she's supposed to look after her kid plus she's just literally a whole plot devices

With Allegra it's because he created the comic version of her so wants to force the show version on everyone. I think he just fancies Cecile's actress.
@電話 After Season 2 it became a show about Iris to pander to her idiot fans who call anyone who hates her racist.
12:39 the only reason why Allegra and Chester are on this show is because Eric Wallace created those characters in the comics and it's like a form of comic book nepotism by forcing characters into a show that have no place for them.

But tbh tho, Season 8 is probably the best season the show has had since season 2. It was actually decent in Flash stand points.

Right. Matt was so good. Why where the Wells face lol
I likes noras morally dubiou mentor thawne and wish it was genuinly being a kinda petty revenge while genuinly caring totrain her, proodf he is a better dad to her than barry, and getting not good but better in the process.
I prefer Matt any-day but the lian yu scene this last season was good however then ending was ass and Matt could’ve delivered way better
Barry was like "oh yeah my wife is sick or about to die" after not mentioning her for long periods lol
Thawne again....Wells keeps coming back over and over.

There are loads of children cartoons that are more well written than CW Flash
@@zemox2534 I don't disagree lol.. even Teen Titans GO has more clever writing than this show.
@@zemox2534 especially ATLA
Facts I feel the exact same thing
Tbh you make a good point. I think both have their own style that works well with the reverse flash, they just used the wrong kind of actor for it
I couldn't agree more, I like Tom more but this season's Reverse-Flash would have been better if it was played by Matt.

Someone with super speed shouldn’t be losing to regular humans. The villains for the seasons should of been:
S1 - Reverse Flash, the way season one was put is actually good, and the end of S1 should open up the multiverse into S2.
Make a smart reason for him to beat barry, and make barry break his limits to outsmart the thinker (maybe something devoe cant caculate like emotion since this show is so cw.)
Season 6 - Something epic to see would be to see a failsafe plan of the thinker where he loses but wins.
The villains for the sequel are:
Abra Kadabra (I argue they can make him not get one shotted. Also hes a future villain.)
Mirror Master and Future Flash, mirror master kills flash in future, future flash goes to past to stop it.

@@SherloxPro why wouldn't i? Bloodwork is a great villain and his story arc is by far the best one that Eric Wallace made on the show in terms of the writing
I would definitely say 4 is better than 5, but the rest is fine I guess. I would also add a huge gap between 5 and the rest under it.
season 4 deff better 5 suit better writing better everything cause 5 he was weak as hell.
If you drink a half of fifth of whisky and eat chili 30 minutes before bed, you're dreams will make more sense then season 8.
I can’t wait for the final villain to be beaten with the power of love
Any show that turns friendship, family and love into superpowers or magic might as well cancel itself.
We are."
The interesting thing is Eric Wallace wrote comic books if I recall correctly so you'd expect him to know how to write a good arc
"It's All Negative" episodes ranked
1. 8x18: "The Man in the Yellow Tie"
2. 8x19: "Negative, Part One"
3. 8x20: "Negative, Part Two"
4. 8x17: "Keep It Dark"
Agree with your ranking.
I hated the final arch because of 2 reasons
1: no stakes how I’m I supposed to be invested in Iris time sickness when her future kids and her future self are alive and well
2: all the grief and suffering caused in the final arch could have been prevented if the “heroes of team flash had just let Thane die from his time cancer that he caused on himself.
The time cancer point should really be a negative of the Armageddon arc and not the final arc though.
But instead we get this stupid fight scene of a flawed finale.
I feel like they overused thawne. Like at this point idc if he's the last season villain or not. It's just whatever at this point.
you could look at this as a lesson: Never trust Thawne.
In the defense of the black suit though it's meant to look super bad and uncomfortable.
I think tom i bored too with at least after vil mentor of nora wells. Its good tochange t least that up.
What do you mean, the black suit was "meant" to look super bad and uncomfortable? Was it stated in a "after episode breakdown" or something?
@@randallflagg3700 Due to the negative forces powering up Eobard and him absorbing them it made sense that his costume would get corrupted and look super ugly, my take at least.
My quick review:
8x01 Armageddon Part 1: A solid start.
8x02 Armageddon Part 2: Best episode ever!
8x03 Armageddon Part 3: Pretty darn great
8x04 Armageddon Part 4: Wow!
8x05 Armageddon Part 5: Very underwhelming
8x06 Impulsive Excessive Disorder: Fun filler
8x07 Lockdown: I actually liked it
8x08 Fire Next Time: Perfectly made mystery
8x09 The Phantoms: Not as good
8x10 Reckless: I was bored tbh
8x11 Resurrection: Best of this arc
8x12 Death Rises: Many cool moments
8x13 Death Falls: Okay until the end
8x14 Funeral For A Friend: I hated this one!
8x15 Into the Still Force: Really good
8x16 Curious Case of Barry Allen: So creative
8x17 Keep It Dark: A mixed bad, sorta bad
8x18 Man In Yellow Tie: Emotional story
8x19 Negative Part 1: Had me in shock
8x20 Negative Part 2: Flawed finale
s1: 1 member with superpower, the rest even thought they aren't meta humans they still played their roles of supporting the flash well
s8: wtf everybody is a superhero-
I think the writers forget that Tom Cavanagh isn't actually Reverse Flash.
Exactly. Tom cavanaugh is Harrison wells he will never be eobard thawne to me that will always be matt letscher.
Also Bart and Nora added absolutely nothing to the plot of Its All Negative, the only reason they were there is because they wrote the finale to be a series finale in case they didn’t get a season 9 and they wanted them there for what was possibly the very end of show
Why have all these speedsters in one episode and not do something with them like battle?! Jay Garrick and Eobard have had NO interactions.
@@stevekmusic6137 Eobard interacted only with Barry, Nora and Godspeed. And he never had dialogue with Godspeed.
I agree with you I prefer Matt Letscher as RF I was so anticipating his return so I was so pissed off when he was killed off just straight up wasted him idk why Matt even agreed to do it I personally would’ve said make me the villain or I won’t do it anyways I hope you post a Flash main villains ranked video for S8
Or the fact they didn’t have the two Eobards face to face. How do you NOT do that?!
@@stevekmusic6137 yes I would also have liked for them to come to face to face but no of course Eric Wallace just wants to do his own lame thing and doesn’t give the fans what they want
@@ilovezoom3719 maybe he has a bitter taste from when he wrote the comics and they didn’t do as great as others, so he’s taking it out on the show. The flash’s true villain… Eric Wallace
@@stevekmusic6137 it could be
I prefer Tom but I think he got overused so in episode 8x19 it should’ve Matt I agree
Nah Cavanagh was still great in season 5. But after that, yeah I agree it should have been Letscher.
Glad I'm not the only one who thought that no chinstrap looked awful...
Nah that shit looks mad goofy😭💀
@@wolfgang6442 G lad I'm not the only one lol... S7 and S8 were bad, especially that Super Negative Speedster form (I forget the "name").
@@wolfgang6442 was it me or did he have mascara too?!
Matt should have taken over as Reverse Flash from season 2 on, with flashbacks and time travel being the exception
what i don’t like is that the writers make the characters so weird and forced. Like people hate Cecile so much like jesus christ….she Chester and Allegra are great characters but the it’s how the writers are writing them. I hate hearing how bad side characters are…blame the writers not the actual characters. The show is getting better but not as good as it used to be.
So... I agree with the majority of what was said here however:
In spite of it being for the sake of convenience & even as a Deux Ex Machina, Cecil has some use in this season more than exposition based parentheticals (parentheticals are essentially cue points in scripts designed to give an idea of how the dialogue should come across emotionally & give an idea how a character is feeling at that point in time); so yeah, turning her into an expository version is a huge sign of how the writing has gotten lazier & shouldnt be a thing but she's not completely useless as there was that Deux Ex Machina with the Positive Forces & she was also used to track Deathstorm.
Flash Season 8 is definitely one if the Flash seasons of all time
Even though this wasn't even part of the main storyline(s) of the show, you didn't get to talk about Diggle showing up in episode 18
I wish they would just give Cecile a superhero identity from the comics. I hate when they give secondary characters powers but they have no comic counterpart.
Can someone tell me why Thawne still keeps Wells' face on?
In the Crisis on Earth-X crossover he says he choose that face because “handsome” his words…
@@dutchvanderplan8639 what a horrible line of dialogue for an excuse for them to use tom instead of matt
There's no good reason narratively they just want to use the actor
They should get a better writer for season 9
The “Arrowverse” has fallen off since Arrow came off the air
The “Arrowverse” has fallen off before Arrow came off the air.
Agreed. It was already on shaky ground but it really went off the rails into a crap quality. Unfortunately I feel like Arrow is the only Arrowverse show to have more good seasons then bad.
I was really glad to see Cress Williams one last time. I wish we'd gotten another season of Black Lightning.

Thawnes new bright yellow suit is such a downgrade from his original suit
i think they should stick with despero as main villain in season 8.
I'm super praying that we get Eddie Thawne as Colbalt Blue as the main villain 🙏
Great review 👍 Keep up the good work 👊
Remember when we were younger we loved this show to death, now we can bearly get through the season......
I disagree about Tom. He’s one of my favorite actors and I think he’s phenomenal as reverse flash.

I don't understand that face ripping scene, Tom Cavanagh isn't actually Reverse Flash. Can someone please explain?
My flash suit: season 4 suit but make the red a little brighter, fix the mask to more of that season 1-3 mask slim look, remove the zipper and make the suit less baggy and then add the gold bootss
Bruh I got so mad when Matt letcher was ripped apart and became wells again. Perfect description of what they did to Matt Letcher though
personally i think tom is a good RF but hes used way too much
Bro,I have been watching you for about 2 years.
Dion has become one of my favorite characters
Flash’s costume does look pretty great.
You forgot to talk about Fasttrack, Black Lion.
Is it really that hard for the show to go back to being as good as the first 2 seasons?

There aren't as many bad filler episodes and the story arcs r actually good in this season. I'm glad Armageddon wasn't the highlight of the season. This has been one of the better seasons of the Flash consistently in a while
I really have to say that the writers could have done a lot lot more better.
Ceclie and FAKE LATINA Allegra gotta GOOO!!!
the only issue i have with this season is them making cecile a huge character, them making Chester more than what he should be and Allegra just doing nothing but also something. But you gotta admit the allegra episode this time around was actually good. Season 7's one sucked but this one was actually pretty good and interesting. Season 8 was great to me not perfect like season 1 and 2 but it was up to at least season 3 quality which means it was great
