  • GPS has been challenged to an off road go kart race, so we are looking to rebuild an old, off road Murray Kilowatt Go-Kart for our next project. You can find the parts from this project in the link below.

Boy, that project looks familiar. I started out with a Murray go kart, just as you did, but it was old-style and didn't have any suspension at all. I kept modifying it over the years and now it has a full independent suspension, big tires, and a Predator 670 engine with all of the mods in it. It's a blast to drive!!!

That sounds like a beast of a go-kart you have.

Aww man, with a name like that (kilowatt) this thing deserves a proper EV conversion. I clicked on this video thinking I'd be seeing an electric off road beast!

    I have a couple questions.
Why not build a little kickup into the front end since you rebuilt the whole assembly anyway? Did you consider making the top A-arm a bit shorter to increase negative camber on compression? Did you not do the unequal length arms because of bump steer issues?

They do. I have a bunch of parts on mine that came from them

@@Wilson_Racing hoping I can call and they know which parts this thing takes bushings and shocks brakes etc

    • @Wilson_Racing

@@averageamerican8965 bushings, no. Shocks and brakes, yes. They take brass bushings on the moving parts. I had to get them from Ebay after carefully measuring each brass bushing
I use the universal chrome 12" shocks up front but they dont have anything good enough for the rear so I got some 13-3/4" HD shocks from BMI Karts and I havent bottomed it out since putting them on.
I have GPS's 80t hydraulic brake kit so it can actually stop in an emergency but had to modify the frame to make it work. I highly recommend going to a hydraulic rear brake
