It’s sad that my time with you all going through this wonderful franchise has come to an end (For now, looking at you Avatar Studios), but thanks to you all for experiencing it with from atla to Korra, this fun ride will be something I won’t forget for a long time. And thats a wrap. Dang, from the beginning of the Last Airbender to here at the end of The Legend Of Korra, the journey from start to finish felt like it would never end but here we are at the finish line. Its a bittersweet moment know this is the end of our lil Avatar hangouts for an unknown amount of time (Avatar Studios I'ma need yall to cook a lil faster PLEASE) but for the sake of not being long winded here, I'll just say, THANK YOU to every single one of you, new and old for kicking it with ya boy. Watching these shows with yall will be an experience I won't soon forget. On to the next journey, whatever it is I guess lol.

Korrasami was announced as canon almost immediately after this episode aired. We all felt that feeling at the end that you felt, there is definitely an intense romantic ambiance around that closing. If you go back and watch season 3 and 4 the peices for Korrasami add up as subtle as they are.
It feels a bit off and then you realize its just the usual clownery that theese "writers" do.

No, it was just a bad plot point that they decided to shove in at the last second because apparently we can’t have a show in the avatar universe without a pair of people to ship. There was no actual lead up to it at all, they had absolutely zero on screen chemistry, it was just a lazy way to create shock value
But Korra’s series is considered to be garbage fan fiction to anyone who actually cares about ALTA in the slightest anyway so, the whole topic is completely irrelevant
It hurts that it's over but I'm glad I was here for the whole ride, my boy.

After rewatching the series, you can see the legit Korrasami hints starting from the beginning of Season 3. Writers were dropping hints that went over our heads because of how unprecedented the whole thing was.
Anyways what a ride. You became my favorite reactor within like a couple weeks of watching your videos
i think they wanted to make it more obvious, but Nickelodeon wouldn't allow it at the time.

My wife and I called it ep 1, season 3 back in the day. They were in the car together and we were like, “they should just be gay.”
I noticed when it was airing because after the trashfire of the relationships in seasons 1 and 2 after seriously considering it I honestly thought even back then that korra and asami had a lot of chemistry and potential as a legit couple if the writers were willing to go there which at the time I didn't expect they would, I honestly expected them to end the show with Korra just being single as the most neutral ending, her getting back with Mako would be disappointing and her actually ending up with Asami seemed like such a long shot, but when they kept dropping hints I was like "wait are they actually doing this or is this just for the shippers?"

They spend basically all of Book 3 together, and of course Asami was the only one Korra wrote when she was gone… it’s definitely set up for those paying attention
The fact that Korra's spiritbending was so powerful that she cleansed a dark avatar and tore open a brand spankin' new spirit portal... damn.
Really nagging observation of my part, but those are different disciplines. Spiritbending which Unalaq taught Korra is a waterbending technique, what Korra did here that resulted in the new portal was Energybending, which she got from Aang.
I remember that part in ATLA where the lion turtle said “to bend another’s energy, your spirit must be unbearable” or something like that. And Korra is spirited asf. I feel like it’s very in line with her character

Korrasami is canon, confirmed by the writers after this episode aired. They had to wait a bit to announce so nick didnt ruin them. But the graphic novels do continue and build off this finale and i highly recommend you read them: "Turf Wars" and "Ruins of the Empire" both 3 parters.

(In that situation) its not a normal thing to blush if korra saw asami just as a friend (i sure as hell don't blush if a friend greets me). it is also confirmed (by a kiss like you wanted) in the comics. it might have been queer bait at the end, but i don't even care, because its cannon now. And the relationship was also built up throughout season 4 with them getting closer and closer. but you do you man, everyone can belive what they want i guess

Put it this way i hadn't even watched S3 or 4 of korra back in the day but the reaction to this ending even made its way to my twitter timeline
so i knew for ages that Korra and Asami ended up together i just hadn't seen it with my own eyes until covid hit and i was rewatching it on my own time and then rewatching it with other reactors XD

it definitely wasnt just you! korra and asami was hinted at throughout seasons 3 and 4 in small ways that could slide under the radar, and the creators confirmed that they definitely intended for there to be a kiss, but couldnt get it to happen in the end. but the comics definitely cover it all!
this was an amazing ride and im honestly considering starting some animes for the first time just to continue watching your reactions. you're hilarious and so fun and interesting to watch. keep doing what you do and best of luck with future projects!

Well, not since season 1 because Season 1 was initially planned to be the entire show and Asami was originally going to be a villain.
But they were definitely thinking about it during season 2, and they clearly show the relationship building over seasons 3 aand 4.

Haven't watched the reaction yet but I just want to say: despite only holding hands, Korrasami was revolutionary at the time. No other kids cartoon had portrayed a gay pairing, and the creators had to fight for it and in doing so they paved the way for future shows like Steven Universe, She Ra, and a bunch more

You have no idea how HAPPY I was when you picked up on the Korrasami moment at the end there. And for someone who isn't really into shipping to pick it up! If you ever do a rewatch for yourself you'll see the tiny hints they put throughout season 3 and 4, building up their relationship. They had to fight tooth and nail to get even that small moment at the end, and as you said, it was a BIG DEAL for the time this was released. Queer representation in kids shows is still lacking to this day, but damn if Korrasami didn't walk so everything after could run.

I LOVE this finale. With avatar and korra you usually get these huge multi scale fights but with the finale you get the main final battle in a small room and the choreograph of that fight is so dooe

Im shooting my shot but I recommend Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, and the kiss was meant to be at the end but you know nickelodeon gave them the negative on it so couldn't be done but comics address it

Remember, episode 8 of this book? The remembrances? That was originally going to be a Kuvira backstory episode but Nickelodeon being the ever supportive network didn't give them the enough budget to do that. However, they DID release a Kuvira-centered comic where they put there the missing backstory episode PLUS a redemption arc for her as well (of course the Korra gang was there since it was a TLOK comic but Kuvira was the center of the plot and she had a good redemption arc there. If they really had extra backings, this couldve been a 14 episode book like book 2.
Korra and Asami do end up together after the series. The comic books confirm it 😁
I've been watching since ATLA and it made me so happy to see you go through this series! I think it's a fantastic ride and catches flak that I don't think is entirely deserved, so I love to see people new to Avatar in general giving it a chance. If nothing else, I think it's fucking incredible as a visual spectacle and that it's at least worth it for fans of ATLA to try the show out and judge for themselves.
As far as following your reactions, I especially enjoy your sense of humor and insights and just how you tackle commentary in general - you have the perfect balance of making good, interesting commentary and jokes without talking over the show, and I appreciate it more than I can say. Love your chill vibes and the way you take a show in and think about it (and how much you appreciate animation :D)

My guy, I dont comment much but I've been here since the episode 1 ATLA and to say it was been a ride would be an understatement. This series was so fun to watch and it was so relaxing watching you watch one of my favorite show and give it so much character in every reaction. You hit a spot with this reactions it makes you feel at home and warm. Anyways I'm really glad you watched this now it feels kinda empty without it since I don't think there's another show like this exists where its so special and unique. Anyways cant wait for the last discussion stream and have fun until the avatar studios finally does something.

First off, I have enjoyed every single one of these reactions, so thank you. I actually learned a lot about animation from watching these.
I have been waiting for the end just for the Korrasami ending reaction! I love them so much and you’re right. They make total sense together. Season 3 does a lot of the relationship building for them, but there are signs through all the seasons. You’ll never read the comics, but they make it official on this little vacay. I hope we get a Korra movie one day to see how they’re doing. Not to mention Korra is my favorite Avatar. Her character growth is crazy good and her impact on the world is immense.

You got the right vibes. And a little animation fact, they've got the bisexual color theme in the background. They've been building Korra and Asami up since season 3. But I guess most people just see it as gal pal moments. It's funny whenever I see queer people react to the show they pretty much immediately pick up on it. Pairing them up constantly in scenes, Korra bullying Mako just to make Asami laugh. Korra saying she never had a girl friend (which I feel has a double meaning because of the vibes in the scene), touching hands season 3 finale, blushing, writing only to Asami, etc.
Man can't believe the avatar journey has come to an end for now. Started watching you since the very first episodes of atla. Been a ride man, thanks for the entertainment.

I know this is a late comment but I just want to say that even though I didn't stick around for Korra, I remember tuning in every time there was a new upload from somewhere in the middle of season one (or maybe near the beginning of S2 it's been while lol), getting to see you watch that show in real time was a real treat, and now coming back to your channel after so long and seeing that you finished Korra, time really flies by...

You are not out of pocket haha! The creators released a whole statement when the finale aired saying that Korrasami was canon and how they wanted to make it more explicit but Nick wouldn’t let them. While I do wish the ship had more build up and there is plenty of fair criticism in that regard, Korrasami is the reason we have shows like Steven Universe, The Owl House, She-Ra, etc. It was so groundbreaking when this first came out in regards to LGBT rep in cartoons.
Also there is a follow up comic that shows their vacation in the spirit world and they kiss in the comics.
Just realised that both series end with everyone in their best clothes at a celebration and the avatar getting with their rightful love interest 😁

Yes sir! Korra and Asami are officially together as a couple. In the comics for Legend of Korra that take place after season 4 there's a panel in the comics that show Korra and Asami kissing. I doubt Nickelodeon would have let them show that in the show.

Kuvira's floating rocks are comets, the thing Suyin teaches beginners with and the first thing Toph used to experiment with because it's very malleable.
It has been a journey. Thank you Aege, enjoyed every moment! Korra is kind of a mess, but it's still amazing. It's a sequel to a beloved show but the protagonist is a dark skinned woman, of course there's backlash lmao.
Both creators made posts how they wanted to do more with Korra and Asami but between the budget cuts (killing off Kuvira's episode) and Nickelodeon attempting to kill the show by taking it off online it was a miracle the show was even made. But yea, for people who were there it was such a big deal, the first ever queer protagonist, even if just the look. It was a big deal.
I'm so sad to that the reactions for the avatar universe is over but I had so much fun watching them! I definitely plan to go back and binge your reactions to atla and tlok now. Can't wait to see what's to come!

I was at the darkest place of my life when book 4 came out, so the messages of this season really helped me cope, the week before Christmas 2014 I really hit rock bottom, and this finale came out, it was my "light in the darkness"

Potentially setting up conflict between Spirits and humans for the next avatar. Humans potentially wanting to have industrialized transit for people and supplies could be a big issue

Watching that last scene with my kids was amazing. It was history being made on Nickelodeon. My step daughter's jaw dropped and she said, "Did they just show what I think they showed???" And I think it helped my daughter find her true identity. Thank you to Nickelodeon for that!

I started watching your Avatar reactions when you were already on season 4 of Korra I believe; I started from the first episode of ATLA and binged my way through to now... only took like 2 months LOL but it's been an amazing ride. You've definitely become one of my top 3 reactors Aege, and I've watched a looooot of reactions to this franchise hahaha. I always enjoy the people the most who seem to share my opinions, views, and emotions on a show and you definitely seem like someone I'd be besties with, from your thoughts on the storylines, characters, music (I was dancing along with you every time LOL finally someone who appreciates the dope ass track team this much), to your taste in women, Aege, I must highlight: you have immaculate taste LMAO. No, you’re not imagining what you thought at the ending. That was the intent behind the ambiguous ending. It was the furthest they thought they could get away with on Nick at the time and it was hella divisive.
I was one of those people that was just looking for Avatar reactions and you happen to have just started Avatar the Last Airbender so it was perfect timing. It was a good journey I'm still sticking around though. Love your Cyberpunk reactions. If you are a Star Wars fan you should do Andor or Tales of a Jedi next.
