    Fantastic to see the UK finally catching up with the rest of the world with the supply of lithium cells. I've never wanted to order this sort of thing from overseas.
    Thank you for sharing your experience with the supplier.
    I'm feeling tempted to build a second dev / test system for myself.

    cheers Steve. We just ordered one of their 280Ah leisure lifepo4 batteries for our van which runs a victron smartsolar 150/35. Cheers for the DC code, saved a whole bunch and really looking forward to ditching the 9yr old gels. atb Richie.

    thanks so much... really enjoyed watching this video. and of course already knew of the existence of fogstar and that they are reputable source. However I simply had no idea (it would have never occured to me!) that are starting to do LiFePO4 now. And EVE type A to boot. this is really awesome news!! and the discount code also very welcome.
    and so glad to follow your build series here. and see how it progresses over the months. really fantastic.
    BTW actually had a new follow up question now to ask (from last time). Which is not related to this LifePO4 cells sourcing... so will leave my other comment over there. On the previous part 1 video. Many thanks & looking forwards to next time 👍

    Hi Stewart. Thanks for the video of fogstar battery's. I ordered a 24v 280amp. Should be here any day. I hope. Can't wait to hook the battery up to solar for my man shed project.. Dean 🇬🇧

    Thanks for this, didn't know about this company. The discount code is tempting me to build another system but my wife probably wouldn't approve 😅

    Thanks Stuart , I placed my order a few weeks ago , ( trying to decide for a long time ) as you said it is so hard to find a reputable source , this has quelled my worries 😀 .

    you could also go for used ev cells, many sources in the uk.

    • @StuartPittaway
      @StuartPittaway  2 года назад

      Yes that's an option. Prices of used cells plus the shipping are high though.

    Are you going to teach us how to build a safe battery for our campervans ? Because that's where your views and subscriptions will come from, but also their sales through your support will hit the roof

    We didn't have a good experience with 32 of their "Grade A". We had damage, dents and scores, very slack oversize helicoil repaired terminal threads, under cappasity the worst 276Ah, burrs on the bus bars and countersinks. No test certificates or test data supplied despite numerous requests.
    No bloated cells though lol and we got full refunds.
    We will try their Grade B and save a fortune.

      I'm surprised by that report, but if you got a full refund, it's better than you would have received from some dodgy AliExpress seller.

      @@StuartPittaway Yes indeed mate, been there got the tshirt lol. Luckily with Aliexpress my first order of 105ah arrived bloated and only tested to 84ah my second order of 304ah were never delivered. My bum was squeaking!!! 🤣🤣😃
      We have just ordered 32x 280ah grade Bs this evening, so I have not written Fogstar off yet.
      Their prices have come down significantly for As & Bs! When we ordered our "Grade A????" they were £179.99 each now only £144.99. Grade B qas 140ish now only £119.90 including VAT so well worth a punt!
      Cheers man shine on.

    Do you know if the discount code is still valid, tried to order 4 105AH batteries today but got the following message "DIYBMS discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart"

      @StuartPittaway  Год назад +1

      Looks like they have stopped all discount codes at the moment - although the prices have reduced since I published that video.

    No idea what the real difference is between the Grade A and Grade B cells are other than the terminals.

    • @StuartPittaway
      @StuartPittaway  Год назад

      The terminals are not always different either. Ultimately Grade B cells don't pass quality control for whatever reason - it could be a scratch on the case, it could be higher or lower capacity, internal resistance out of spec etc.

    Is there any actual difference in the usage for home ess on eve grade a vs B cells? Thanks

    • @StuartPittaway
      @StuartPittaway  Год назад

      Probably not, home usage is likely very low current draw compared to what grade A cells can deliver.

    I'm on the fence with these guys.
    Reason is how a person responds tells you a lot about them.
    But UK businesses add Vat and a profit.
    And costs are high in the UK so this hits the battery prices, with 50%+ mark up I think it's too much. They are a growing business.
    They need to find other cells rather than the two or three they have.

      You do get the benefit of not having to deal with Chinese sellers who may not be the most honest.
