I am new to bike driving and I learnt it recently with Splendor plus, myself. My brother has Unicorn and rules are same except it's a bit heavier and it has 5 gears. I was able to ride it comfortably. I do not know much about the road rules and I made a mistake when I was in my brother's town. We have gone to Dmart at his town, and my brother and his wife decided to come in car, so that I could ride this unicorn on Highway. I'm new to Highway driving and I was just following my brother with that bike. He was in middle lane with 70-80 speed with some vehicles infront of him. I'm tailing him during this process. Then, a truck driver constantly honked at me and I thought there is no space for him to go at all infront of me. So, I ignored him and I stayed in the middle lane behind my brother. He asked me from the car to move to the far left, But I couldn't see his instructions through the car, as I am focusing just to drive safe on Highway. What he did was he overtakes everything and he goes at around 120kmph and leaves me alone there. Since I couldn't catch up with him and I do not want to overspeed to catch up with him, I went now to left lane. When I reached home, he told me that it's a huge mistake and told me to stay in left lane when I'm driving slow. And middle lane is for faster vehicles and the far right is for overtaking, and for high speed vehicles. I learnt that lesson from him and wanted to share it.
It is very irritating to see slow truck drivers in extreme right position which forces us to overtake from left which is technically wrong. For all scooters I advice to take extreme left so that it is safe for fast moving vehicles. I always prefer middle track with my dominar 400 because I have reaction time when some person suddenly crosses road or some animal cross suddenly. I will not suggest bikers to drive next to divider because once you miss balance and hit divider then death is sure. Already many youtubers died and also my family friend son died by hitting divider.
Well can't blame the trucks also... It's actually better for bikers safety that they drive in right lane, especially on 4 lane highway... Because if trucks & bikes both drive in left lane, and a truck is not able to see the biker due to its blind spot near it's bonnet, just a touch by the truck to the bike will be fatal. So strongest vehicle on road & most delicate vehicle on road running in same lane is not good...
Loaded trucks take a long time to reach even 30-40 kmph they cannot afford to do weaving out of lanes likee cars bikes or come to stop in short distance or brake effectively so they prefer extreme right
Simply Lane depends on speed 0 to 30 extreme left 30 to 60 middle lane above 60 extreme right lane one thing you must know that while in middle Lane anyone can overtake you from either left or right side if you are Riding in extreme right you will be overtaken by left side simply you have to focus on being overtaken or take over in both middle and extreme right side don't panic and hold your bike steadily while being overtaken
Not about bike but if you ride car even you are not safe in india people don't have any driving sense notice soo many times while traveling by road especially truck driver they always drive on 1st lane.
