NinAmuro57 Most people miss the point of the song, and the emotions it was intended to convey. This song carries pain, suffering and sorrow... Something most covers simply can't seem to get right. These guys nail it, not only because they understood the original intentions for the song, but also because they themselves were feeling a very similar loss due to Delores's death.

Miss Strange what meaning. What exactly is he saying about what issue? The original is very clearly about The Troubles and how both sides pretend they're fighting for the very people dying in crossfire. This version is about nothing.

What is the message? They have changed the lyrics and that changes the message. In the original an Irish person says an Irish civil war where both sides claim to be fighting for the Irish people does not represent her or the people she knows. It questions why both sides say they are fighting for her when she's caught in the crossfire of both sides. It says "since 1916" because the war had been going on longer than the lives of anyone involved in it has been alive and makes the conflict seem endless. This one says "in 2018" which just says kinda vaguely that there is some sort of vague conflict in some vague location. The message is lost entirely when you remove any specifics. Do you think the Purge movies have some great message too? No, they don't and neither does this trash. It's no longer a protest song, now it's just a song hoping to honor a band they liked.
Douglas Paulson So the original song is directed more towards a specific conflict while this one isn't directed towards any conflict specifically. It's talking about war on larger scale. Being vague on what conflict they are talking about is the whole point in my opinion. I bet a lot of people during the Crimean war or the Syrian civil war feel/ felt the same way she did.
Also I haven't seen the purge movies so I can't say anything about that.

Sadly this isn't about war per say. When she wrote this she was talking about the conflict that happened between Britain and Ireland. Hence why she says "1916" That was the rising that happened in Dublin. The song is exactly about that. With him changing the lyrics it was disrespectful to the meaning of the song and to Dolores beliefs in the Irish Republic

This is an amazing cover, it's been added to my list of greatest covers of all time. So powerful, it's crazy to see how much emotion this guy is able to put into this song. They way they changed up a few of the lyrics to make it more modern "It's the same old thing in 2018, in your head in your head theyre still fighting" --and then "With their Tanks and their bombs and their guns and their drones.." I'd like to think Dolores would be incredibly proud of this amazing cover. May she forever Rest In Peace, what a legend she was and is.

LOVE this! Heart broken that Dolores O'Riordan passed before being able to add her vision to this as that is why she was in London when she was found. I read that proceeds from sales of this version will go to support her three children who are 20, 16 and 12. She often spoke in interviews of how she never realized what love was until she became a Mother. She struggled so much in her life. Thanks to Bad Wolves for remembering her this way. My heart goes out to all her loved ones but especially her children.

This is only as amazing as it is because you can feel the emotion he's having while he sings it, this is personal to him and he's going all in because can feel and resonate with every word. The point of this piece of art was much more grasped than what was originally intended. As someone that served, you all, want to post your opinion stating your case, you cannot. You haven’t seen the only people you’ve been affiliated with become corrupted from all of the bad in the world you can’t see other than a post noting a death of an American soldier. You see nothing. As far as I know they didn't end up doing the cover without Dolores, according to Octane from sirius radio these guys covered this song way before her death and that they were indeed going to meet with her a few hours after she ended up dying, but I don't know if they went ahead with the new cover of this song or if this is actually the old cover that they did years earlier, or however long it was that they did it.

The cover has been mixable for a while, but she passed about 7 hours before the studio time to add her part. Was going to be on the album I assume, but the passing pushed it out as is in tribute. A tribute well done I say.

To me this song is about a soldier fighting with PTSD about things he saw on the battlefield and how he self medicates and thinks of himself as "zombie" because of how numb he gets.
I grew up with Dolores and the true original greatness that was her! I have heard many people try to cover this song with terrible results but the bad wolves not only do a great job but they also pay the song much respect!!!!!!!

It's really heavy the meaning behind this amazing song, makes me think about all the victims around the world who lost their lives in mass murders, shootings, bombings... The violence needs to stop. Zombie sent a powerful message and still does until this day, Dolores' legacy is alive!

Eh ? Was she really what ? Was she really going to do vocals for it ? The simple answer is yes, she was going to be doing a version of Zombie with Bad Wolves so she definitely knew who Tommy Vext was. I saw Tommy Vext do a song with Five Finger Death Punch a few weeks ago. It's no big secret. I knew about it before Dolores died. Why the fuck would I pluck that nugget out ma arse ? If you know who Bad Wolves are, or just know about current rock music then you might not look like such a twat.
Just go and Google "Bad Wolves Zombie Dolores" and even little sites like Rollingstone, Revolver, Metro, Team Rock etc all cover the same story. Now that she's dead, Bad Wolves are giving all proceeds for the song to Dolores's children.
It's not hard to do some homework or do you like looking like a muppet ?

The methods are different, the technology advanced, but war is just as terrible now as it was then.

How extremely sad that we never got to hear the version of this with Dolores signing. I can see why she was taken back with this version, it's incredible and gives the song a different dynamic. Heartbroken 💔
