@@SteelCityGamer1 One of the major things that made me dislike the season was how it completely disregarded your endings in season 2 and was pretty much telltale spitting in your mouth by erasing all the effort you put to get the ending you desired for Clem.

Javi isn't that bad of a character to connect with. Would I pick him over Clem, Kenny or Lee? Hell no but he's not that bad. Hell, he's better than tangerine (comic book Clem). Great vid but I disagree with everything.

They are wrong about Javi his struggles are relatable in many ways.
The problem is this terrible community had no intention of giving him a chance.
Look past your connections from the previous two seasons you will find he’s not a bad character.

To be honest in the real world sometimes no matter what you do people still die, no matter how hard you can try sometimes things just don’t work out that great for you and that’s something I love about telltale, you almost feel in control of your actions until no matter what you do someone still ends up dead, like lukes death in season two, if Bonnie had gotten her head out of her ass and listened to him he would still be alive, you are not in control of other characters actions, only yours and I love it.

Sure, but it's EVERY decision. The game course corrects itself everywhere and has minimal impact on your story. There's no freedom. You save Carley, Carley dies. You save Doug, Doug dies in the same situation. You save Ben, Ben dies, and Kenny supposedly dies too. If Ben is already dead, Kenny still supposedly dies. You treat Arvo nicely, Arvo still shoots you. You save Jane or Kenny, they still die in a flashback. You save Ava, she dies. You save Tripp, he dies in almost the exact same spot. These characters don't make drastically different decisions than their counterparts. They still end up dead all the same. I love these game for what they are, but the game says it adapts to your choices and it's really not believable when the outcomes are all more or less the same. Conrad is the only exception to this. He can actually die in multiple points of the story. Everyone else is forcefully killed off.
Who cares about the real world, we playing a game
If it was like the real world our protagonist would be dead every time they loudly snuck past anything
The worst thing about the entire telltale game’s catalogue is that one scene with the dog in episode one of season two

What about it? I killed the dog once. On my next play through I let the mut die a slower death. I prefer the later.

I really like Javi, he's my personal favourite character and just like Luke, was kinda a big brother to Clem. If Skybound decides to do a new Walking dead game, i can see them making Javi the main character now that Clems story is over

But in most games the players decided to kill clem and then she lives for some reason so we might see those two fighting deltas and the rest of the eastern coast with clem having a peg leg or something 😂

My biggest criticism is that our choices really do not matter. No matter what, the story goes as follows:
Lee finds Clem --> Lee dies --> Clem finds cabin group --> Group gets captured --> Group leaves Howe's --> Everybody except Clem or AJ dies --> Clem and AJ find Frontier --> Clem embarks on journey to get AJ back --> They live on the road --> They find the boarding school --> Clem loses her leg --> AJ lives --> Everybody lives happily ever after
You can't even fully prevent character deaths along the way. You can only prolong them. Even the ending where Kenny leaves Clem and AJ at Wellington, the cannon ending for Kenny is that he drowns himself afterward. Everybody you meet in the first 3 Seasons except for AJ and Clem either die or are unaccounted for by the end of the series. Nothing we ever did or said as both Lee and Clem mattered.
I mean like everyone dies at one point or another and I'm pretty sure Kenny drowning is a scrapped death.

Choices do matter. Ex: if you you say it smells like shit in the barn in Season 1 Episode 1 Clem would say “Shit” instead of “Shoot” in Season 2 Episode 1
i dont think they have very broad effects, but the choice's still do matter. ex: choices you make in season 1 will reflect how lilly treats clem im season 4. same thing will happen, but the characters become sympathetically different depending the choices you make before.
Season 3 and 4 characters do not die later
Gabe,Kate,Violet,James,Tennesee and Louis can die pr live based off your choices

people being mad about the choices thing has always annoyed me. it says at the start of each game it will affect the story not the plot. that means everything will happen whether it needs to or not the plot is what you play through. the story is how the characters you play through as perceive you the main character. like the carley doug choice. they both end up dead. thats the plot but the story is which order they die. therefore they do impact and change the story. like whether you save ben the story changes when he dies but the plot has it that he will die.
edit: it shows no matter what someone does people will always end up dead
The thing I hated most about season 3 was the way they killed off Kenny he was my 3rd favourite and after everything he went through he goes out like that!? Kenny was the best at least he died protecting Clem and Aj
I liked season 3. Definitely on the lower end out of all the seasons, but I could relate with the main character and his conflict with his brother. Made me teary eyed and think about my personal life. Say what you want about the brothers, but it struck a cord with me.
I agree with you man, the whole brother ideology in this game was great, lots of people don’t like this game simply because Clem wasn’t the main character but I’m glad this season gave us a chance to meet new characters an story.
Season 3 is the worst simply due to how they handled my man Kenny

Here's what I have to say to people that say that choices don't matter. It say that the STORY is tailored by how you play, NOT THE PLOT
Yeah, choices don't hugely impact the end, but that's just kind of what you're getting into when playing a telltale game. I think that's because they want to make sequels so having multiple different endings like in Until Dawn or Detroit Become Human would make a sequel almost impossible.

Season 2 is my favorite oddly enough. I like the feeling of constantly being on the run, the constant pressure, and never knowing what's gonna happen. The only thing I would change about the game is Kenny's death and Clem losing a leg.
Season 1 was a masterpiece.
Tbh Javi is a good character but the Christian man is always my favorite besides clem and lee.
Goodbye OST soundtrack is hard to listen to but A MASTERPIECE

I wished I could see someone play TWD season 3 without playing ether season 1 or season 2. Just to see if someone who was just introduced to Clem would trust her or betray her. Because honestly if I didn’t play ether seasons I would be hesitant towards Clem.

It killed me when it was in that one moment when clementine started talking with javi about menstruation😅
The most I liked about season 3 was that it had 1 character that can die in every episode and can survive to the end of the game but I do wish it was a more likable character.
Talking about Conrad? He’s actually one of my favorite characters, the only issue is that they pit him against Clem after knowing him for only ten minutes of screen time. It’s not a fair choice to him.
I miss the PS3 version of season 2 because there was a lot of cut stuff that like Mike getting killed in the deleted episodes names
I actually really love s3 a lot. I loved javi’s character and I loved clem as a supporting character. What was bad about that season was how incomplete some of the scenes felt. When certain characters died, it was very “oh well that sucks” with ZERO emotion and it was so rushed. Other than that I thought it was a great story.
I played these games for the first time ever about 2-3 months ago now. Now before I say what I say I should stress that the way I played it was to be as evil as possible, manipulating characters to do what I want, killing characters when I could. In season 1 kenny said no to me, my season 2 ending was killing kenny as clemintine. He got what he deserved. I also killed Ben in season 1 because my names Ben. There can only be 1.
So I liked season 3. By the time I started season 3 I had my fill of doing everything evily. Then David punched Javier, that’s when my sense of evil came back. I couldn’t be treated like this, no. I got the kids to like Javier more than david, I made Kate fall in love with Javier, I made no one like David, he lost his power, his wife, his family. All taken away by his “failure” of a brother. David died and so did Gabe. Gabe, in the end begged me for death, and me being the merciful dark lord allowed it. And in the end Jesus said that I might not always be doing what seems right, but he knows I’m doing what I think is right. In the end Jesus left thinking I was a saint after manipulating all that death, bashing peoples brains in, killing that guy in the train car with Jesus like 10 feet away.
Because of the way I played these games, with no emotional attachment to anything and being as evil as I could, season 3 I would say was my favourite. It let me do so much. And just so you know, my AJ, absolute sociopath.

I loved Javi, and I loved season 3 despite it's flaws, I was emotionally attached to him and the cast of season 3, He's no Lee or Kenny, but I think the writers did a solid job with him. I would say I had more problems with season 2 that TNF tho, A lot of characters were just wasted potential (Nick, Luke, Sarah) and some are just plain out boring/not fleshed out enough, (Mike, Carlos, Sarita), My favorite characters in that season are Pete and Luke however, Pete died way too soon and Luke was killed off to be replaced by Jane to be Clem's best bud
S3 is my #2 I love it soomuch

For me the issue with season 3 is its a lot of filler episode 1 and 2 are all set up as its a 2 parter 3 is where the story really starts I think 4 is decent and 5 has too many shortcuts for me to like but I do still like season 3 when I play

I kinda liked Javi. Granted, season 3 was pretty bad, I liked Javi as a protag. We see him before the apocalypse, and we see his motivations on why he cares so much for his family. He missed his father's death, and ever since, he is head strong on getting them back whatever means necessary, which is a strong motivation. I feel like if Season 3 was a little better, then we could've gotten a strong connection similar to Kenny and Lee.
The only problem for me is the predetermined outcomes
I liked S3 but I also think it has problems and might’ve been squandered potential. Javier got the short end of the stick though because we were all just used to playing Clem and we expected to continue at the time of release.

Javi is a good character, its just that as the 3rd part of the series the story was changed dramatically, and we didnt have much time to really connect with characters, like we could connect with clem, kenny etc. If Javi was in season 4 also, i think that a lot of people would change their opinion on him. Abel said in season 4 that they are in war with Richmond, so Javi could got an appearance there but unfortunately he didnt.

What I find surprising is that when Abel mentioned Richmond to Clementine, she was unfazed by it.
That's because ANF was not suppose to be S3 it was suppose to be a spinoff with Clem having a cameo role but it morphed into S3 when TTG finances went bad and they merged S3 with ANF.
If I can remake the walking dead the first thing I’m changing is how things don’t change the outcome. Like come on guys I don’t give a damn if Kenny will remember that I rather see Kenny react lol
season 2 ending was weird for me. I don’t think bonnie and mike would leave clementine with no supplies for some random russian dude that tried to kill them, it just seemed out of place. I like being able to choose between kenny and jane though but if you killed kenny your weird
the most thing i hate about telltales twd is side characters always last for one season and gone bye bye and some died when they just got introduced that season
I agree. My resentment and bitterness towards Telltale for killing off characters when they still had so many more places to go has grown the more time passes. I assume it’s from season one setting this precedent that The Walking Dead always has to be sad and tragic when that really isn’t the case. And in season two, it’s just exhausting having everyone you like (especially Sarah) die for no good reason.
The constant need to wipe the slate clean and bottleneck the story into the same state leads to emotional attachment feeling like a waste of time when you know it’ll all be gone by episode five.
Season 3 didnt have the same feeling and wasnt enough sadness and i feel like the emotional sad vobe helps the game and the 3rd game just wasnt there just a whole bunch of random stuff happened put of nowhere

I just finished the 2nd season of TWDG about a couple months ago. I found the New Frontier at GameStop, put it wasn't the season pass version. So I returned the game back to GameStop, and ordered it online afterwards (the season pass version). It isn't going to be here until this weekend, so I'll come back to give my opinion after I finish the New Frontier.
I loved Season 3 and could relate pretty well to Javier. I don't agree with the takes on Season 2 either.
Honestly, the only one I agree with, and only partially, is #2. The Unchanging Outcomes. But the changes in the moment are still very interesting.

I expected the third season to be bad. Tbh.
But honestly (besides the cheating shit) the game wasnt all that bad, seasons 1 & 2 are wayy better, but it was nice to get a new look on, surprisingly like able characters (not kate idc what troubles a couple would have, leave or work shit out cheating is never acceptable) but overall the game was good 👍 altho i can get why ppl would hate clem being the supporting character..
None of telltale games have too many choices that matter, but that has been understood since the first season so I can't be upset about that since I've always known. If you decide to continue playing, you go into the game play knowing this info already. I didn't care for season 3 either but I don't hate it. I can understand people not having any emotional connection to Javier since his character came out of no where mid series.

The worst moment is the Bridge scene in last episode in final season . Undead Minerva and Ten moment is worst things in whole siries. In others, i love 3rd season and Javi. Maybe he is not charismatic like Clem or cool like Le, but still interesting character. And Clem support character is fresh idea

Season three would have been better without Clementine in my opinion. Her inclusion holds back the game a lot. Anytime she has even a slight opinion on anything, we always side with her, even if it doesn’t make sense from Javier’s perspective. She steals the show when the spotlight should be on Javi.

@@e.m.ldonahue5605 Man, it would have been better if they just didn’t waste time telling a story that didn’t need to be told in Michonne and just gave the Garcias a three episode mini series of their journey up until season 3. Then season 3 rolls around, they cross paths with Clementine, we actually care about the Garcias up front and everything feels less rushed and more natural. The problem is that Clementine, the main character for the series is never fully integrated into the team and we don’t really have a clue who these new guys are.
In hindsight, I love the Garcias (save for Kate) and I like most of the new cast; but playing it for the first time felt so jarring because we never got time to attach ourselves to the cast before they were pitting them against Clem. That issue also is exacerbated by ANF’s short episode length.
It was really hard to connect with any characters when they were all dying left and right.
Season 3 episodes were kind of rushed and there are more endings, season 2 is my least favorite only because all the adults are relying on an 11 year old girl, if Clem wasn’t there what would they do? And they also treated her pretty badly. Clem was also forced to make horrible decisions that she didn’t want and probably wouldn’t have to make.
I hate that they killed Luke, and in the end Jane or Kenny ... Why are we choose 1 to live and then the died in the beginning of the New season
also I know it's been a year but heres something I hate about twdg the only thing I hate how much cut content there is for S2 like I wanna know all the cut content but theres too much 4 scripts kenny was the original villain clem had a choice between let both her and aj die or let just aj die and eddie from 400 days was supposed to be in amid the ruins episode 4 as maybe MAYBE arvos role thats a therory though

Same. Javier was such a breath of fresh air after Clementine was a depressed mess during the entirety of season two. It also helps that he has great sarcastic dialogue options, which goes a long way for me.

I watched a lot of TWD playthrews in YT and it shows the players who are playing personalities but i only seen 1 person who didnt kill Conrad season 3 and its was a REFRESHING 😂😂😂

Lee’s death was really perfect. His story was done, and the torch was passed to Clem. His survival wouldn’t have been a great benefit to his character.
Dunno why I was emotionaly damaged in finding a mobile that supported twd s3 and when I found so I didn't wanted to play it
