I struggled abit with the grammatical word order with the "ignoring the subject" deal, but I came up with a way that made it easier, imagine any sentence you want to assert to be in passive voice in it's meaning, if you practise a form of english using all passive voice sentences with unknown subjects (no "by the subject" compliment), you can feel the atmosphere of how korean sentences work..you're welcome.

My dream is actually to become a K-Pop star, because I like singing and dancing. I'm super young, so I need a lot of time to practice. I want to become fluent so I can move out of my parents' house by the time I'm 19 and try out. I don't want to be solo, though. And I know the life is hard, so when I first got the inspiration to do it, I went crazy on the "Why You Should Not Be A K-Pop Star" articles and lots of self-doubt. But I figured out that I want to do this. I wish I had someone to study with.

    • @anahniharris4682

Just look at all of the KPOP stars that came from small beginnings (some even being foreigners) and are now globally known (cough cough BTS cough cough EXO). Just stick to it, work hard and never give up! Every KPOP star I am sure had the same doubts that you are having right now, but they stuck to it and are now successful because they stayed focused. I cant wait to see you on stage WHEN you achieve your dream! If you are an ARMY then: There is Hope in a Jamless Suga Kookie!

Sometimes, when writing personally, like to shorten ㅁ to 冂 (lose the bottom line) because no other character looks that way, so you could still know what it is.
After Japanese, this is much easier for your ears to grasp, but they have other aspects like vowel harmony (also very into A Korean Odyssey on Netflix for a while, I heard a mountain of korean by now)

Im not here because of Kpop, yes, true, but i like PSY. XDD
Korean ancient culture is 1000 times more worth than the new. ( History, religions, customs full of respect, ancient music, handicrafts, rituals, clothes, calligraphy, games, ancient books about health ( Dongui Bogam), about politics, power, etc.)
Korean IS difficult, if you are not an Asian.
Even for a Hungarian is it difficult, which language is also hard and full with affixes like Korean.
But its completely worth to study this language, i had no intention to learn another beside the followings ( Hungarian, German (both mother tongue), English, Latin, bit Hindi), but i threw everything else away for this language when it "approached me" in historical sageuk dramas!!!!
The culture what is living in Korea is fantastic.
I cannot stop studying even if i sometimes fail at the language exams. LOL
    Fighting! XDDD

I had seen SHE WAS PRETTY, a Kdrama, last year and I liked the sound of YES. 😂
    I thought to myself,
"It would be cool if I learned Korean"
    But I didn't pursue it.
I chose mandarin after my third or fourth Chinese drama because I grew tired of reading the English subtitles in English, in 56-66 episodes on each drama I had watched.
I just wanted to listen and enjoy the freaking show, not multitask.
As for Korean, I figured I would familiarize myself with HANGUL and take the ten days to learn foolish route.
I didn't take it seriously until I accomplished ANYONGHASAEYO AFTER three whole days of practice.
Hahaha😂 Next thing I knew. I was conjugating verbs and reviewing material to prepare for the TOPIK exam.
This language is beautiful to me too.
I wanted to go overseas for an language immersion program but RONA has everyone on edge

Noelle Nayon you got it right:) I would add that the first one is informal and used between friends, social equals, people u know well and are close with The second one is highly formal and respectful used with elders and/or people of higher social positions. Korea is a highly hierarchical society and the language heavily reflects this.

Japanese pronounciation for me is easier and more straightforward. Korean tho doesn't have Kanji which is a HUGE point to make it easier. We have a tie when it comes to grammar, both are insanely hard, but that comes slowly.
In the long run pretty sure you can become decent in korean way faster than japanese.

I have to admit that is kind of true but some people came here and honestly may give up, this is to try to help them not give up and convince them to try harder to learn/ have a better reason to learn. You can just skip it though so it doesn't really matter.

So much time wasted just by listening to why we need to learn a new language and why korean in particular. We are here because we already want to learn a new language, AND we want to learn korean in particular. These two go on and on and on about why we need to learn a new language. We are already interested , DUH!

Husnu666 its for their introduction. Its like writing an essay. You should have introduction before the body. You cannot just jump to the body without an introduction. Just statin'

I ended up here for ...personal reasons associated with a particular industry related to drawing. Idk what a BTS is that I keep seeing in the comments and I'm too afraid to ask.

안두냇수ファビオ just ignore kpop and think of the social aspect and the culture of korea and the fact that its not as hard as chinese and japanes so you can grasp it easier

안두냇수ファビオ But it is so much easier to learn new language through music and TV shows.

    • @mjacobs2132
      @mjacobs2132 6 лет назад

yes but some people find it more easy that way. I found that when I was learning Spanish (I was about 4) it was very helpful for me to watch TV in Spanish since i didn't really care about learning the language, I wanted t watch TV. That's why my mother only let me watch it in Spanish. Now i'm 13 and learning my 5th language. :D
