Laura, your wholesomeness and humility are very compelling. The fact you ride an XL883 makes your series even more compelling - pure basic motorcycling. I rode from Oklahoma to Alaska and back 12 yrs ago when I was 70. I was on an R1200GSA with a 7 gallon tank. You have a 3 gallon tank. You are the braver rider. Your wonderful series brought back memories of that trip. Thank you for these enriching videos. Please keep riding and documenting your excursions.
Really love the series. Nice to see someone showing the toughness and reliability of the EVO sportster, and where it can take you if you have the toughness to use it to it's fullest potential. Lots of people rolling around on $30k "adventure" bikes that never seem to leave the towns they live in.
Great video Laura, you travel fast enough to get there but slow enough to show us some fantastic unspoilt scenery. The swims look invigorating and welcome and overall a most enjoyable journey. I noticed you ended up glove and sleeveless so must have been getting warm up North. The HD has proved reliable and ready for the next trip. Thank you Laura, great series.
@@solo.roader Loved it thanks Laura. How long will you make us wait until we know where your next adventure will take you and us ? Will you be Canada bound as there is still some much to discover ? I guess it's back to work to earn some $ to pay for it all. Enjoy the upcoming months and I'm already itching to see where to next. Take care
Canada is so amazingly vast that it's possible to end up traveling long stretches of road all to yourself....road therapy at its best. Happy trails Miss Danielle !
Hi Laura another great video Thank you I really enjoyed the scenery the lakes & the ride your journey It is beautiful up there for sure glad you enjoyed your swims for the most part You are truly an amazing young lady You always put a smile on my face when I watch your videos keep them coming looking forward to the next one Take care be safe out there Ridin in the Wind :) :)
@@solo.roader You got it, Ride on! Down here in Florida I have a close group of touring friends, we all share our favorite song of the week. RUclips won't let me paste it but it's one for the touring playlist, hope you like it. Jackson Dean/ Heavens to Betsy
A piece of advice on carrying fuel. Take two of your containers and attach them together like saddlebags and sling them over your seat. Put the third on the rack. When you start to consume them, you can carry the empty container on the rack.
Oh you were here ages ago. Unfortunately a small fire in early August closed the Wildcat Cafe for the rest of the season. No catastrophic damage though. It will live to see many more summers and southern explorers.
I used to when first began going on trips! Unfortunately I haven’t done much Moto-camp cooking in recent years. I notice I often lose my appetite on rides so I can get by with just a quick to-go lunch and dinner (from the gas station usually).
its Friday and lucky all of us get to go motorcycle riding with LAURA!! Hey Laura!! This trip is just AWESOME! So did you eat at the wildcat cafe? If so we all want to know what it was! You really know how to make the best out of a vacation trip im ready to sign up for that how to enjoy vacation with Laura class you should teach!! Thanks for sharing. As always be safe!!
Thank you so much!!! Unfortunately I didn’t end up eating there, all the tables were full and I was trying to save my coins for just the necessities. But it was really cool to check out.
I carry tire plugs on my bike since the tires are tubeless. Also a pump. Got temporarily stranded once because of a nail in the back tire. Never again lol.
I have to confess to being "a windscreen guy" BUT absolutely HATE looking through one as I ride - so I set mine up so I look over it. I do find it much more tiring to ride all day without one.
Great videos, great editing! Thanks Laura. Seems like your Sporty is doing very well on your adventure! Love the side-saddle bag. Is that an HD item? Ride safe, ride on! Very inspiring!
Why do I expect the 10/10 swimming event was less about the water temperature and day, but more about getting the flies and mosquitos scrubbed off your face and arms. Taking the windscreen off??? You're very tough young lady! Very tough indeed. But what a trip. I truly envy you for the trip to Great Slave Lake and Yellow Knife. What a motorcycle adventure. Another great post. If you ever do the Dempster Highway, about a third of the way to Eagle Plains is Two Moose Lake. It would be swimmable but for the short hike through the tundra and the flies and mosquitoes that might intercept you... but obviously, your toughness would leap over those obstacles, too.
You’ve got that right, haha!! The Dempster Highway is on my bucket list. Thank you so much for the spot suggestion along the way. I’ve written it down. 😁
ok, how cold was that water? lol i bet you slept good that night after getting to experience something you have always wanted to go do.....can i please see a pic of your bike before and after you wash it? LOL
Hey Laura. How warm (or cold) was the water in the lake? It’s a short summer up north! By the way, You should not be shy. You are a Nice lady, You should be proud. Thanks for the video from Denmark.

Thank you very much!!
Such a beautiful area and beautifully done. This was totally therapeutic to watch.
I’m glad to hear that! Thank you :)
Great video , The north is magical in summer . It's great to ride without a screen , clean air and lots of it .
Ride safe , ride far .
Couldn't agree more! Thank you for your comment.
That sure looks great up there, and 3 swims what a day! Always love your videos.
Glad you like them! 😊
Another beautiful ride ! The sporty looks better stripped down for comfort 😊
Doesn’t it?! 😄
YES!

Little gas money. Thanks Laura for sharing the north with us.
Wow, thank you for fuelling up my tank!! I really appreciate it! ☺️

Nice stroll through the woods there.. rugged back in there ~

Oh no, that’s awful! I’m glad that it’ll be reopened and that the damage wasn’t catastrophic. I was there in Mid July.
that looks like a great ride
It sure was!
👍🏼👍🏼
✌️ 👍
Wow amazing ride. Will probably never get this far north, but it's possible. I like swimming in lakes too, but the water can be freezing cold. Thanks
Cold swims sure can wake you up though, eh?!
@@solo.roader Yes, but not in a pleasant way lol
12:53 what is this documentary about? Also, another great video!
Nice video...the HD seems to be working great.
Do you cook most of your own meals?
Got a favourite motorcycle adventure meal/recipe?

How much longer are you in Yellowknife! I’m living here and can show you a few more things in town!!
Aw man! I would have loved that!! I’ve since left. Perhaps there will be a next time.

Great video some real nice sceneries. What year is the Sporty and how many km’s on it?
Thank you! It’s a 2012 and has just shy of 80,000kms on it.

You and I both!!
Great videos, great editing! Thanks Laura. Seems like your Sporty is doing very well on your adventure! Love the side-saddle bag. Is that an HD item? Ride safe, ride on! Very inspiring!
Thank you! It is! The buckle ended up ripping off last year but thankfully a leather-smith was able to stitch a loop back on for a buckle to fit in.

Hi Laura. Quick question. Are those wheels cast aluminium with tubeless tires? Again, another great video. Ride safe young lady.

Just a tad bit cold 😅. The bike sure has gotten dirty, but the rain seems to be keeping up with me and cleaning it off.

It actually wasn’t too cold at all! It was really refreshing. Thank you for your comment!! 😊
