@@lilripsta911 Firstly - only talking about inside. It's much older - but is styled as a performance car. The Corolla however, is styled almost exactly as what you would get from a 20k A-B Corolla. @@zach2954 Great questions. I think you’re right in a lot of ways, but I disagree on a few points. Here’s how I see the strengths/weaknesses of both cars. CTR Pros: Bigger trunk/hatch - if you’re constantly moving kiddos/back passengers with lots of cargo this is good, more powerful engine that’s tuned great (more on this in a minute), better seats and overall interior quality and best in class shifter, and more track capable CTR Cons: Size - I think it’s actually *too* large, FWD, engine/exhaust are boring (aka vacuum like). GRC Pros: AWD, small nimble chassis, great shifter (requires more effort, but feels almost more connected to the car), fantastic engine/exhaust note, great engine tuning, heated seats/steering wheel. GRC Cons: Seats aren’t as bolstered as CTR, interior is cheaper (actually doesn’t bother me though), stereo isn’t as good as Bose in CTR. Overall the CTR is the more focused drivers car, capable of faster lap times, while the GRC is the more fun-to-drive daily. Don’t get me wrong, the GRC into slouch when it comes to performance, it’s just not taking things as seriously. The sounds…the sounds alone make it such a better car. @jameshuegli3534 Thanks for your impressions. I actually got to test drive a loaded core recently and can see why the size + AWD system is a lot of fun. The exhaust note is definitely a lot more unique than the i4 in the CTR. Other than the interior, my only complaint was the steering felt a bit too loose for my preference. Overall tho it's an excellent car. Been thinking a lot about trading in the CTR and I feel if I went GRC to CTR, or CTR to GRC there's things I'd miss from each. I'm leaning towards grabbing a used GRC core as a second car down the line instead. I'm a bit partial to the styling of the FL5 but I think the FL5 will sound a lot better with an aftermarket exhaust, so we'll see how my thoughts change after I get one. But overall I think both invoke a lot of excitement but in different ways, we're lucky that Honda and Toyota are still making excellent manual transmission performance cars in the era of electrification.
If my math is correct that's about 188 HP per liter 😮.It's a hard pass for me. I like no payments for the LONG term. I'm used to Toyota's OTHER vehicles. I'm very surprised .I thought Toyota was a bit conservative with the horses per liter game in the past. I hope this one proves me wrong and is reliable. I love great engineering that can stand the test of time.A Japanese tradition proven over and over again on many products .But that's another subject.Again, great presentation!
You can just see the sheer enjoyment on Joe's face when he goes on Throttle and stretches the legs of the Corolla - This man loves what he does. PS: While I love Joe's video, I am NOT a fan of the GR Corolla dealer markup. $65K CAD for a Corolla, that is insanity.
Watch your rpms. Don't let it go under whatever the car idles on which is usually 750rpms. Give it more gas at first. Pretend you are always driving up a hill so give it more gas and you should be good. Learning to shift is easy because you can shift through gears while stationary. Get comfortable shifting first.
Just drove a GR Corolla core, wow it's fast! I would buy the core edition, that's all I need. For around $38k, it's actually not that bad considering the average new car transaction these days is around $48k.
I absolutely LOVE this car, but the price is just too much! The Yaris is even worse on price. I think you meant to say "100hp per cylinder" not "300hp per cylinder." FFWD to 8:15 However, at 7:26 you said it correctly.
The 2024 circuit gets the forged wheels, these are the same cast wheels on the core. So not that unique. I like the wheels but they are a pain to keep clean.
Those wheels are not exclusive to the Circuit. They are the same wheels as the '23 Core came with. The '23 model only had unique wheels for the Morizo edition. Core/Circuit had these same multi spoke gloss black wheels. I believe for the '24 model year the '23 Morizo wheels now come on the GR standard.
I really like a lot about the GR Corolla. You picked the right time of day to shoot that color. As a fan of red I have to say that color is really disapointing. 95% of the time it looks like dark burgandy. They should have offered the red on the Supra and GR86. For $44k it needs to come as equiped on the RZ JDM model. For dad friendly cars, I'm not getting this trned with this car, the Type-R and Type-S having no rear A/C vents.

I'm very surprised .I thought Toyota was a bit conservative with the horses per liter game in the past. I hope this one proves me wrong and is reliable. I love great engineering that can stand the test of time.A Japanese tradition proven over and over again on many products .But that's another subject.Again, great presentation!
I'm 6'2 and that is the car I couldn't fit in unfortunately besides any Mazda car. It's beautiful hatchback though!
This car fills the hole in my heart left by the now discontinued Subaru WRX sti
You can just see the sheer enjoyment on Joe's face when he goes on Throttle and stretches the legs of the Corolla - This man loves what he does.
PS: While I love Joe's video, I am NOT a fan of the GR Corolla dealer markup. $65K CAD for a Corolla, that is insanity.
i need to learn how to drive manual
Easy as cake.
Easy as apple pie
This car is really easy to learn on. Don't be discouraged, and don't be afraid to stall, happens to every new driver.
It's like jerking off 😂😂😂
Watch your rpms.
Lovely color n car!! Excellent video
For the reason of the engine sound in my personal opinion, I feel like this could be a Baby V6.
I’m like my Circuit but wish it had a little more power after 5k rpm. Maybe it’s the Phoenix heat affecting the stock tune.
I absolutely LOVE this car, but the price is just too much! The Yaris is even worse on price. I think you meant to say "100hp per cylinder" not "300hp per cylinder." FFWD to 8:15 However, at 7:26 you said it correctly.
So a nice car shame dealers want 15k markup
100% king of the (possibly last) hot hatch!!
He's funny 😁 that's covered up for shipping , those tabs break off with a little twist of your hand then you see the vent for air to flow through
car would look 10x better with some new wheels
Those bronze wheels look great on the red!
The 2024 circuit gets the forged wheels, these are the same cast wheels on the core. So not that unique. I like the wheels but they are a pain to keep clean.
😭
For a few more K I got 3 more cylinders and more HP. Nice car, Joe.
GR Corolla, Type R, Type S. So many choices. Don’t know what to pick.
So 🔥
I don’t think Brembo makes those callipers. They should be from Advics.
i like this guys reviews
I think I like the shift stick on the 2017 Polo TSi Comfortline
That is something awesome!
i like your enthusiam
Thank you that really means so much!
3:30 "We get that nice BULGE that you want you want" Ayo
Those wheels are not exclusive to the Circuit. They are the same wheels as the '23 Core came with. The '23 model only had unique wheels for the Morizo edition. Core/Circuit had these same multi spoke gloss black wheels. I believe for the '24 model year the '23 Morizo wheels now come on the GR standard.
Not sure if the circuit edition is different, but I had a core model in the shop yesterday and noticed the brakes are made by Advics and not Brembo.
I love that red, but you know that's gonna make it a cop magnet.
Joe you didn't do the new ID GTI yet. That car looks SICK!
I really like these for some reason, they are cool.
This toyota GR Corolla Circuit Compared with :
- Nissan Sentra SV
- Honda Civic Type R
- Volkswagen Jetta GLI
- Kia Forte K3
- Hyundai Elantra N Line
- Subaru WRX 2022
- Ford Fusion Titanium
- Chevrolet Malibu RS
- and More
Did you say a “Nissan Sentra”
@@mark_845 Yes That Corolla is Compact Sedan Bro
🤦♂️
@@rakhsiprayogo82 Elantra N Line but not Elantra N? But Chevy Malibu. What. Is. THIS???
@@ARentz07 this is Toyota GR Corolla
What’s the price on this?
Coincidence that I seen markups on Corolla gr’s then joe drops a Corolla gr video on the same day. Dealer in my region 179k for it 💀🤦😳 they are losing their minds
The front to the end of the back door is fine; I would modify the rear a bit.
Thanks for your honest input.
The Engine sounds like a shop vac and when you put the playing cards in your wheels as a kid 😅
Tested drove yesterday. Wanna traded in my 21 sti. But after couple miles of drive. I’d keep my sti for now. Not big fan of three cylinder engine.😢
Boy I love how clean these wheels stay! :)
I see what you did there!
@@RaitisRides Proceeds to spend an hour cleaning these wheels, goes for a drive to get remaining water off vehicle, park and look to see my wheels just as dirty as before I cleaned them.
Imagine the most brake dust of any car, then triple it.
Joe, your socks and bulge comments made me roll off my couch😂 Hilarious!
I really like this thing.
