First Responders doing what they do best. Kicking Ass!
Can’t go wrong with a duece and a half.
I hate nit picking videos, but operating a hose line with NO GLOVES is a no no, otherwise, it was an AWESOME video, and KUDOS to the duece and a half
I miss the fire dpt already 😔
Rey Robles lol we will hopefully have our Boundaries changed soon so we can get more recruits
What size pump ypu use on yours? We have 18 hp honda but it doesn't give the distance like yours. We carry alot of equipment on ours. Plus we use alot of forestry hose and forestry garden hose on ours. Our brush truck doesn't carry anything but tank pump and a reel
San Isidro Starr County! Nice video! I'm from roma and volunteer at la Rosita
Efgarcia95 05 I think la rosita was there
TEXAS VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTING yes at 5:00 you can see our rescue 1 truck on the left
Good shit buddy
Really enjoy your videos man. Keep up the good work 👍May I ask how you got your start as a volunteer? Like if you went through a certification process or got an AA in fire science? I'm currently planning on attending a community college for their program and hope to get some insight.
Takeshi Yamaguchi yea no problem , in my area it’s an all volunteer FD but we still get paid per call. I started out by showing up and introduced my self and asked for an application. It’s basically just your general info . Our Dept meets every week on Wednesday for our training and weekly checking of our apparatus. I had to come to all Wednesday meetings and get a feel for it but I couldn’t respond with the guys. Once my back ground check came in clear I had to get voted in by the firefighters. They voted me in and I went before the board of directors for my final interview and they approved me. But I still had to go our regional fire school that TEEX holds which I get my basic Firefighter 1 certificate which allows me to respond to emergency’s. Now I’m currently certified through the SFFMA which is the volunteer side, but it’s the exact same training as the commissioned side “ paid/career “ . Our Dept is currently getting us certified through the commissioned side as well. Once your commissioned certified you can go apply for a paid Dept but you still have to take the civil service exam and go through there academy
Takeshi Yamaguchi there are different ways to get certified for a career firefighter. Can go to your local fire academy which your local community college or FD should host, it usually last around 6 months or depending on your Local FD maybe they offer what my Dept does and gets your certified through them
Thank you very much for the information & for the quick response. Really appreciate it. I'll go ahead and talk to the FD in my area to get the process started as well as taking some fire science classes. I'm not sure if I would want to go full time or volunteer just yet, but it looks like a very rewarding, challenging, and interesting career. As a volunteer do you feel that you'll eventually decide to go full time? My current idea is to get certified as an automotive mechanic & volunteering on the side so I can have best of both worlds. This may change with more exposure in firefighting but just wanted to see what you had to say regarding your situation and experience so far.
Takeshi Yamaguchi it’s up to you but being paid or volunteer is the same thing except you don’t get paid. But the fire dept regardless is it’s volunteer or paid will open up new doors for you , I’m currently enrolled in a emt b class and now going to do EMS full time and volunteer and once I get certified through commission I’ll try to find a paid Dept
Takeshi Yamaguchi but find out if your local fd is volunteer or mixed paid and volunteer.
awesome video
I really want to be a fireman it’ looks fun
It really does, but I dont know what to do. I have two careers in mind and I really want to do both
Yaroslav Fenich oh well I know what do I have been doing fire cadets lately
Late reply, i'm in a volunteer company, and it is a lot of fun! But be prepared to put in a workout like never before, as long as you know that!
Her Tex, 25 year firefighter here, I designed a new wildfire response vehicle, on my trip out west, you think your company and neighbor stations would want a demo? Good video content for your channel.
Im game. I always like to look on how other depts set up their equipment
As an aussie it would be nice if this is all we had, good job tho
Yep, we Aussies have some bad fires but so do they in North America, real bad!
As a Californian, this is not brush firefighting
Spencer Berklite Then what is it hotshot? Everyone has different environments and different incidents.
