Y'know... the choice of guns here really do reflect the characters nicely. Akiyama is light and agile like his dual pistols aren't very accurate nor are they powerful, but they shoot fast and load fast. Majima is as wild and aggressive close ranged fighter like his semi-auto shotgun. Able to pack tons of damage in close quaters. Ryuji is a tough tank with a endurance to match the sheer amount of bullets he can fire without pause. The minigun arm being a literal part of his body compliments it too. Kiryu is pretty much a exact reflection of his Anti-Material Rifle. Incredibly powerful in action and boasts great precision. Its basically a handheld Tiger Drop. Even Daigo's pump-action Shotgun matches him. Simple and reliable.
The fact Ryuji’s description just says he dropped out of sight for five years makes me think it could be possible for him to return in Yakuza 8 and beyond. The minigun arm is slightly unrealistic, but if Kashiwagi can survive dozens of shots from a minigun, Ryuji can survive a handful of pistol rounds.
GUH i hope so, i really do hope they bring back ryuji in 8, if it does take place somewhere out of Japan, he'd still fit because in his rgg0 story he likes to travel, wouldn't be too out of place to see him in America or Korea. AND YES, if Kiryu survived the same exact wounds, why wouldn't he?
I really really hope he's back for LaD 8. They even gave him a canonical campaign in RGG Online. I think the studio is well aware that the fans want Ryuji back.
Kashiwagi and Lau Ka Long didn't sustain mortal wounds (funny judgment). Apparently, everytime someone gets headshot in the series, apart from Tamashiro, the bullet is intentionally shown being shot from an angle that wouldn't damage any vital parts of the brain, so Lau Ka Long being alive makes sense, even if very unlikely. Kashiwagi is the same way, all the bullet holes from the helicopter weren't anywhere near his vital organs. With Ryuji, unlike Kashiwagi, he got shot point blank like 10 times, and then he spent like extra time fighting Kiryu, whereas Kashiwagi was taken to the hospital almost immediately (judging from the fact the police were on scene by the time kiryu exited the building). There is little chance he'd actually come back since Yakuza doesnt do it with main villains. Also mid character highly overrated Mine supremacy
I miss the days of no having to wait to install any games. Just put the disk in and play. No memory cards means just leaving the console on until you beat the game.
When i was young and just found this series i started with dead souls thinking it all would be a zombie shooter. Boy i’m glad i found out pretty fast it wasn’t.
*Shun Akiyama* Akiyama is a mysterious moneylender that owns Sky Finance, as well as the hostess club Elise. Betrayed by his bank employers during the 10 Billion Mystery, its resolution in a rain of money paved the way for him to start Sky Finance. The date is April 1, and his loyal assistant Hana is pestering him to make the rounds. However, he soon has more to worry about than money, as the Thanatos outbreak drives him to pick up a pair of agile dual pistols and get Hana to safety.
*Goro Majima* An aggressive family patriarch known as the Mad Dog of Shimano, this zombie movie aficionado had a long ascent to the top. Losing his eye after protecting blood brother Taiga Saejima, Majima was roped into delivering 100 million yen to the Shimano by running the Cabaret Grand - a task he finished in a single year, only to get further from returning after refusing to kill blind Makoto Makimura. Turning the Majima family into a construction firm, he built and defended the ambitious Kamurocho Hills - before diving back in and being tasked with locating Ryuji Goda. When Thanatos hits his general proximity, expect him to pick up his shotgun and laugh in his typical insane way.
*Ryuji Goda* Former chair of the Omi Go-Ryu clan and proclaimed as "Dragon of Kansai," this full-blooded Korean is closer to Kiryu and Majima than they thought... though a childhood encounter and a pants theft are hardly memorable. After his final fight with Kiryu, Goda miraculously survived to quietly retire, leaving his arm behind, and learning the trade of a takoyaki chef, from painlessly butchering the octopus to cooking the little treats. His successor, Tetsuo Nikaido, was less willing to leave Goda's past alone. Now, as the bioweapon Thanatos is set to destroy the Tojo and Kamurocho, Ryuji's peaceful life is upended. His task is clear: cut a swath through the undead hordes with Kuroganemaru, his cybernetic arm's gatling gun that contributed to his survival, to seek Nikaido, get to the bottom of the ruinous scheme, and put an end to it.
*Kazuma Kiryu* The Dragon of Dojima himself, and short-term fourth chairman of the Tojo Clan, Kazuma had an interesting life. Adopted by yakuza Shintaro Kazama with his blood brother Akira Nishikiyama, Kiryu's rise to legend began when a man he beat down was shot to death, forcing him to abandon the Dojima to seek the truth without causing trouble for Kazama in prison. Working for the ruthless Tetsuya Tachibana, he discovered his own former superior, Sohei Dojima, was trying to push Kazama into action. Despite everything, Kiryu rose to the occasion, returning to the Yakuza and going on to solve the Ten Billion Mystery, quell the Omi feud, and protect his orphanage. He later aided Taiga Saejima in traveling to Kamurocho and becoming a family head. Now, with Haruka kidnapped by a mysterious man, Kiryu has no choice but to step into the crowds of undead, forced to forgo his non-lethal creed and fisticuffs for an anti-material rifle to rescue her and deal with the Thanatos outbreak in the only way a zombie will listen: by splattering their heads with precision.
You know that the developers did a great job (apart from the fact that the game it self is amazing) when instead of hating and cursing an installation screen or being bored of it, you keep searching it on RUclips as well. Like before playing these games I never thought that I would actually search a video recording from an installation screen.

It's really funny. I always seem to find the best in mediocre Sega games. This is no exception. To me, it looks like gold and it's not even their usual A game. I think you guys should give Sega a little more credit. Only one thing missing is Typing of the Dead Dreamcast Keyboard gag weapons. That would have been utterly hilarious.
