It's good practice for 2 finger thumb lead as well that's how I use it

There's plenty of great lessons online for the various Uke strumming methods - 'especially impressive' are the "George Formby" style strumming techniques. You'll find many of them can be used in clawhammer banjo playing and they work really well, I'm sure you'll find plenty of new ideas you can bring in and put your stamp on🙂👍
Clawhammer works great on Ukes! [Btw Cathy Fink has a course specifically teaching 'Clawhammer' Uke].

I like that George Formby style! So cool seeing so many different styles. Really gives me a lot to work on. And I'll check out that Cathy Fink course too, thanks for that

Great instrument! Tenor banjos can be strung with baritone ukulele strings, and played exactly like a uke! You can definitely play oldtime songs on ukulele too! Clawhammer uke is getting bigger, lots here on RUclips. A friend of mine also runs a great ukulele discord group. A cool thing with ukulele is you can string it with a low G also for a different type of sound, more old timey I would say. Cheers bro!

@@BanjoSkillsI came to the banjo from an interest in clawhammer ukulele, myself. Reentrant tuning in both definitely gives a lot of options. Check out Aaron Keim (Beansprout, Quiet American). He is a banjo and uke luthier but he also teaches a lot of old time songs on both instruments. The last batch of ukulele tabs had Cumberland Gap and Sourwood Mountain and Red Rocking Chair, for example. Thanks for doing what you do, too. I am slowly getting the hang of the banjo now!

@@13miette Thanks for the tip on Aaron Keim. Checking out his stuff right now and that's exactly what I was wondering about! Really cool stuff.
And I'm glad the channel is helping! Would love to see you at one of the live sessions if you're up for it. Been having a lot of fun with those.

I'm a clawhammer banjo player that went to clawhammer uke due to arthritis in my shoulders. When I hold my arm out so far on the banjo my shoulders start hurting almost immediately. That doesn't happen with a shorter neck; I absolutely love it!

Makes sense! I've had a few of those issues myself. I need to start playing the uke clawhammer style, because I've found that just strumming it is no good for my wrist.

@@BanjoSkills It does help, my wrists get a little achy sometimes when it's cold and wet out. Look up Four String Strummer here on RUclips. He has some great videos for bluegrass and old time ukulele. I think you might get a lot out of them.

@@BanjoSkills I should have mentioned Richard Hefner here on YT. He was a well known banjo player that switched to the uke. He made a whole slew of videos. When he figured out he could clawhammer the uke he fell in love with it.

That's cool! I have a goldtone banjolele (BU -1) model I think it is I put a low G string on it I think it sounds more full! Banjolele is but I also have 2 regular Ukes!! I like to play the banjolele when I'm taking a break from clawhammering my hand off! Lol😎

Funny timing on your comment! I was just staring at that hanging on my wall today and thinking I need to pick it back up. It looks liek Aaron Keim has some really great resources around this
