In case anyone is wondering and decides not to put slabs because “what’s the point” it’s to avoid mobs spawning on the top because mobs can’t spawn on half blocks.
@@andrewgrimes1 because wandering traders can spawn too, they spawn in any general area the player is in regardless of structure around or not, this helps prevent that, and of course any other passive mobs that might spawn there too.
i ran out of cobblestone, so i placed my cobblestone generator up there but then i needed wood to make sticks and then i also put a tree up there, now my entire base is in the damn sky
Note : this farm won't work in multiplayer servers unless if all the online players be at the base of the farm l. (Suggest enderman xp farm for multiplayer)

I built 6 chamber versions in my 2 survival worlds and can’t see myself not having them in all of my heavily time invested seeds now or in the future. I scoop up a fish in a bucket and make a fishing pond off to the side of the kill chamber and set up shop bouncing between them while the kill chamber fills up. It’s pretty op.
As a player who plays the game since 2017 I recommend to add way more layers. Just add the platforms as well as the trapdoors (the mobs think it´s a whole block so they will fall down) but DO NOT place more layers of water because the mobs then will die because of it´s height. My recommendaition is to add AT LEAST 4 layers or you´ll wait for ever that mobs are spawning up there. I hope that helped
How would you do it for the mobs not to die in the fall if the max they can receive of damage is 22 blocks of fall? I thought about adding a redstone system to dispense water on the laterals to shove the mobs inside the whole lol

But beforethat, put signs right before the first floor, add water on top of it. if monsters still dies instantly, then put in the middle top of the first floor with signs to contain it so it doesn't overflow. That is, in hopes that the mobs not just float on top of the water and actually falls down, dunno abt that. Hope this helps.

One tip to make the farm more efficient is if you dont feel like lighting up all the caves just bring your render distance as low as you can and it makes the farm way more efficient
Put slabs on top instead of full blocks AND slabs. Save some time. Mobs won’t spawn that fast in only one layer but better than random ones on the ground for sure!
For iron try to spawn proof the area so the only area the iron Golem spawn is the killing Chamber, i think you need to spawn proof 8 block away from your iron farm, careful with the underground place like cave or dungeon they can spawn there, for the spawn proof use whatever you have the most like leaves or lower slab, for leaves i recommend to waterlogged the leaves just incase a creeper blow it up

@YourFriendIyNeighbour in the spawning area place 1 carpet or trapdoor one block diagonaly from the edge. Then go 2 blocks ahead and 1 to the left and place another carpet/trapdoor. Keep doing this for all the spawning area.

Honestly skybasing is where it's at. I skybase with an ice highway I use to get to things I can't keep at home base (ie. Spider farm, witch farm).

you can also place carpet on the spawning platforms (leave 1 block gaps between) so spiders dont spawn

No, any full block that doesn’t let light pass through will work.
These are the only farms to ever work for me. Iron farms and other ones of the kind for some reason never work on the switch for me.

this is an issue with platform, you are most likely playing on bedrock, try to search for farms with “bedrock edition” added
