If i downloaded windows 7 whit rufus file from pirate bay in the package then can i put the folder whith the files on the stick and run the instalation like that after i select boot from usb in bios or do i have to set it up by starting rufus and doing the seting from rufus and ofcorse whith the usb pluged in the pc i understand

+Zachary Pitts External hard drives act very similar to USB flash drives so yes it should work on a HD. Actually now that I recall I think the website may actually recommend using an external HD because in most cases they provide faster data transfer speeds VS standard flash drives plus they have a larger storage capacity. I do not really "review" operating systems but I will take a look at it and if I like it i might use it in a "garage sale finds" video.

And work and load Windows7 8.1 10 about 30s Some info to have normal speed like HDD use 2.0 USB port max and if USB work min 16GB but must have good S/W about from my test need 32MB S/W or more. Or USE IDE to USb adapter for disc of 2,5 or 3,5HDD and no need to know speed becouse HDD have like old 2005-2016 about 50-80MB/s R/W Also first run is like final install normal from DVD like detecting pc setting ,restarting ,set up etc for my on 2 tested was 30min to set up - next time will by 30s normal boot (First time need all config etc like in normal install) Also install from WintoUSb takes about 40-1h on USB stick on USBtoHDD was 15-30min. Also no need wory from DAMAGE stic via Read/write after install windows after load no work stick only normal like HDD if u open something ,copy U can normal load games on it -install drivers. I use this 2montch in Dell D410 like main HDD - in USB 3.0 ADATA 16GB stick (Laptop 2.0 USB max) and after install programs MS ,Drivers etc 7GB OS 3GB all rivers and program and have like 5GB free for something (But if u need more i use some anotcher stick and load from it) The iso i used: Windows 7 SP1 x86 RTM Disck orginal rlesed in 2009 ,newest up to now day Windows 8.1 and 10 Evolution x86 iso from MS Also if u have problem never use laggacy option only VHD or VHDX on my pc in laggacy was always BSOD VHD/X - no decrese of speed etc for my work also test like in normal PC HDD or laptop

MJ Some people specifically need portable Windows for certain things. I run Linux on my desktop _and_ my laptop, but I need Windows to use iTunes for music on my iPhone. Having Windows 10 on a USB drive with just iTunes and my music library is super useful.

the reason it does not work with xp is because the method it installs windows is completely different in xp all things are computed on the fly and copied based on what you choose and what your computer tells the installer in vista and later all the install files are stored in wim files so it basically decompresses the wim file to the hard drive and after that it will compute what it needs or not the wim file method drastically improves time needed to install so thats why they kept doing it wintousb creates the bootloader and then will decompress the wim file to the usb stick like the windows installer so with the xp disk it cant find the wim file and it cannot continue

Trying to use this because i lost the disk for my DOS based burner program... Did everything the same as the video and it seemed fine, but when i tried to boot to Win7 i got a BSOD, hexadecimal error code STOP: 0x0000007b (0xFFFFF880009A97E8, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000034, 0x0000000000000000, 0X0000000000000000) I looked up the first sequence in the error code and it said "This BSOD means that the Microsoft Windows operating system has lost access to the system partition during startup. BSOD error code 0x0000007B may also show 'INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE' on the same blue screen." but i'm not actually sure how to correct that in this situation... Any suggestions as to how to proceed?
Old video I know. However I hate when people put video's or anything else for public consumption. Then basically says don't bitch about the quality. Although I don't think the audio is HORRIBLE, it could be better. However don't tell people NOT to complain about it. Not everyone watching your video may have decent speakers. With such the audio may almost be inaudible. I'd say DON'T put a video out there if it's of horrible quality. You waste people's time when you do that. Just like when people post a video and don't have a mic. So they put on loud music and keep pointing with there mouse cursor. Again, I don't find the audio bad enough to complain about it. I'm just saying, if you put something out there for consumption. Free or not people have a right to complain about it. Just as yes, you have a right to say don't complain. i cool video thanks- hers the thanks Micron has a 64 GB and a 32GB USB jump drive as they call them and they report they work with XP- The 32GB is usually about twenty five bucks but I got mine for ten at a Office Depot sale. I don't know how much the 64GB goes for. These little powerhouses of memory have a little LED light at the end of them that flash on and off when they are writing and stop illuminations when they are done writing. Actually it is not live, as it wont use the ramdisk. I used it for about a year... It relies too much in the flash drive, it uses it as a hdd. First, it will inevitably be slower than any old hard disk, even in usb 3.0. And it will wear your usb as the apocalypse were coming (yeah that much), after a year, my usb stick bought for that porpouse, died, and before it stopped, it got readonly to advise me. I had a sandisk cruzer blade 16gb for windows and a 4gb generic one for programs. Better off doing that in a external usb hard drive. Windows probably wont want to install into it normally, and this program can achieve that. In the videos were you used the usb, probably the computers got way slower than they need to be, because the usb speeds, random rw speeds and such, and worse, many of them only had usb 1.0 or 2.0, that is too slow, and affected too much the performance... So i wouldnt reccomend using that, unless you have a externall usb hdd.

your USB should be srated as "fixed" instead of "removable" Note this !!

Hey, I just followed this to get one working and it makes my main computer hard drive be not online because of an administrator policy. How do I make that hard drive online again? I did this for the purpose of getting my files off my computer due to my hard drive becoming unbootable into Windows and I want to fix it.
Oh sorry, I find it myself, I just right clicked on it in computer management and clicked online and it started working.
Great video, thanks. I only ever complain abt audio if it's so low I can hardly hear and they also have competing music to make it worse! :)
