No murder weapon, no motive, no witnesses, he's already been to trial once & was given a mistrial, he's not a flight risk either as he voluntarily turned himself in back in 2019 after he found out the charges he was facing. He deserves a bond.

Bortlen getting involved in that “witness tampering charge” is crazy. He was out on bail and his trial has to be after Melly’s trial is over. That means if Melly got found guilty then Bortlen will too and he’d have a month to set it up and go on the run before his own trial. He’d have nothing to lose. He’s already getting a life sentence. Might as well try to get into Mexico or something.

What trial are they watching? The evidence was overwhelming. They got a video of him going in the car, a gun he had that was used in the killing, fake drive by didn't work, killing came from the back seat right where Melly was sitting, he sent a dm saying he did it, video of him showing no remorse the next day having the time of his life.
They didn't find any gun. Nor do they have any witnesses of the murder or any real motive. All they really have is bullet trajectory analysis which isn't always accurate & cell phone data. That's all they have.

They have pics/video with Melly with the EXACT gun he was charged with. He has no account of where he was at or how he got to the house. Why did he just leave? Text msgs between him and the victim beefin (Motive). First he called the mother and did a facetime at the scene saying they were in a drive by so he did say that at first then they changed their story and said he wasn't. Got the mother to change her story by paying her off. Then he sent a dm saying "He did that" to someone. Then he was in a happy mood the next day after he suppose friends got killed. Then he went to the house and changed his shirt. Don't pick and choose the evidence.
