    Thank you, Tamar. You two are absolutely adorable together! Nosy questions: What did your parents think about your marrying after only six months? Is a short courtship and engagement normal in Israel?

    • @Libby_Hannah
      @Libby_Hannah 2 месяца назад +1

      Actually six month is a sort of long time.

      Those are really good questions 💕
      It really depends on your specific Orthodox community, how religious you are and ofcourse your personality. I have a few religious friends like myself that too them over a year to feel that they were ready with their partner... 😲
      My parents were cool with it, I had a few siblings married, and they also married quickly after meeting the right person 💕

    This is so cute!!!! Men are the same everywhere- “I’ll pass on any possible incriminating question”😂😂😂😂😂
    When did his family or he move to Israel? Was he a child, teen, adult when he came to Israel?
    Does his family or extended family still live in Sweden? Have y’all gone there to visit and see where he grew up?
    I like how he said he’s a single father to the older kids and you’re a single mother to the baby! That was cute!
    I understand the transition part of having a new baby. It is a lot to juggle and takes some getting used to.
    Do they offer paternity leave in Israel? If so, did he take any?
    I’m so glad you are getting housekeeping help! Nothing wrong with that! I tried it for a while but I was always cleaning up before the maids got here because I was embarrassed of the mess! 😂😂
    I like how you said we clean or “we don’t”. Oh my goodness that is me! Having a large family in a small living space is hard to keep clean! For me it has been like shoveling snow in a snow storm! You make some headway but they tear up something in another location 😂😂😂
    Did he have to serve in the Israeli army? Did he go to college? What is his line of work?
    He would have a fit knowing the way I grew up! My mom was pretty lax about what we ate. My brother and I will eat something sweet or some kind of junk food before we eat our meal, and we will say “appetizer”!! 😂😂😂 Not all the time but for example, if I saw a little donut 🍩 while I was cooking- yeah, I’d eat it. I wouldn’t wait until after supper. How in the world we have stayed skinny is beyond me! But I thank G-d!! I guess our saving grace is that we just aren’t big eaters! I’m pretty easy going with my kids too. I’ve never wanted food to be a battle. Or making them finish their plates. I tell them to stop when they feel full, we can save the food for later.
    There are times I wish we could rent. Homeownership is a lot of work, money, and responsibilities. And I feel stuck and tied down.
    Is rent about the same as a mortgage payment in Israel? Rent in America in my area is really high! More than a mortgage payment.
    Have a great week!! So glad you have a little longer on maternity leave!! I know you are cherishing these moments!!
    Love❤
    You’re friend Karen 🇺🇸 ❤ 🇮🇱 💪

      Hehe! Great to hear from you Karen!
      Good questions I hope I can do another Q and A with him but for now ill answer some myself😂❤
      His family moved to Israel when he was a child, he still had and has family there- aunt and uncle etc but not that much.
      They dont really offer paternity leave in israel, the husband can take some from his wifes maternity leave 😏
      I was super lucky my husband got a few paid paternity weeks from his company! That is AMAZING!
      Hehe ya I hear ya about the cleaning! 😊😊❤
      He's a programmer, went to college and army.. maybe ill add more details in some future Q and A ❤ ❤
      That is so cool the rent is more than mortgage!! In israel it is very much the opposite! That's why easier to be renter in that aspect as well...
      Great hearing from you darling! Wishing you and your loved one a Shana Tova U'metuka full of nachas and everything you wish for!
      Your friend from Israel, Tamar

    • @karenjohnson5634
      @karenjohnson5634 2 месяца назад +2

      Thanks for answering!! I love that “side eye” emoji about a husband taking some of his wife’s maternity leave. That look says it all- NO WAY are you taking MY time away from the baby!! 😂😂😂
      Glad he got some paid time off!
      I don’t blame you for renting then- if it’s cheaper!!! Use that money for something else! 😊
      Looking forward to another Q & A in the future!
      Thank you for the blessings! ❤❤❤ you are so dear to me! ❤❤❤ will be praying for you to have a wonderful Rosh Hashanah! 😊❤

      A side note about cleaning help, I pick up the house and put everything away before they get here, they do the actual cleaning (windows, floors, toilets....etc)
