- In March 1973, fronted by Brian, Geordie released their debut album, Hope You Like It, on EMI. Trying to compete with such British glam rock outfits as Slade and Sweet, they achieved UK Top 10 status with “All Because of You” in April 1973.

I just finished listening to his auto biography on audible. Really fantastic! Told by him! Highly recommend listening to it!!!
Gotta love Brian. He preformed so many songs that where like anthems to our young adulthoods and as I age, I continue to love him and the Young brothers and all those wonderful musicians even more through out this old life. This band here of Brian's is even meaningful to me.
If I had a time machine I'd go back to 1973 to be there, there was more fun in that place than in the whole world at this moment.
Are you aware Geordie reformed, I wrote a song for them referencing to 1973, you may like it? Search YT 'See You Now' Geordie 😊
A monster voice in rock and a genuine down-to-earth guy. Up there with Noddy Holder, Jimmy Barnes and Bon Scott. Long live the Larynx!
and dan mcafferty

Geordie reminds me of a Slade clone actually. Like Slade, they had that one thing...an amazing front man
What a career
50 years later and he’s just played Powertrip Festival
Reading Brians book just now and loving it. Can't wait to see AC/DC back in Glasgow again🤟
Just after finishing Brian's book,,,, brilliant read,,, can't wait till acdc comes to Ireland,, august
@@MREB81and I've just one chapter left and getting ready for Munich next month👍👍
Good stuff Rock on brother 😅
Haway the lads. Great to see Brian performing in a Newcastle United top and scarf.
He has been a big fan of Slade and imitated Noddy Holder
Fun fact. Bon Scott saw Geordie live when he was with Fraternity touring in England. He liked Brian Johnson’s performance so much that he told the boys when he joined AC/DC that it was the best rock and roll performance he had ever seen. I am beginning to think Bon modeled his style with AC/DC and as you would say the rest is history.
This is a very interesting theory they are both great singera
According to Brian’s autobiography, on the night Bon saw Geordie, Brian had appendicitis, which caused him to spend much of the gig rolling around on the floor like he was James Brown
If this band ever breaks up, and another band is looking for a singer, he should take the offer!
I'm imagining that you're a time traveler from, like, 2040 or something, and you didn't travel back far enough in time for this message to make sense, lol.
I remember this track and 'Don't do that', I would have been four or five and my older brother got a promo single free on a magazine called PopSwap......jeez I'm getting old )
Brian Johnson is the best! Look at that hair! The next AC/DC song should be called, "Big Balls in me Overalls"
😂👍
You mean camel toe?
Bon Scott was better.
If ac dc still had bon he would be here still
Great title!😂😂😂👍🏿
Love it and a member of the Toon Army even back then. Absolute legend
Supermac short and toon scaraf. Lovya Bri. Gan canny kidda!. Everyone else, larn yersel' some Geordie
Excellent performance by Brian jonhson Rock in Roll for real👍👏👏
Brian very handsome guy❤❤❤
Thank you for giving this to us Brian!!
Amazing song
Rock ‘n’ Roll 👍
Sul palco si divertiva anche ! Emanava simpatia e sentimento con le sue canzoni e allegria di gioventù! Poi con gli AC DC si è incollato il berretto in testa e cambiato stile e voce .. sempre straordinario!!!
Geordie forever !!!
VERY VERY GOOD OLD ONE.................................................
Rozumiem, że Pan/Pani zna hebrajski i grekę żeby ocenić ?
“To be happy again to have so many friends
Just when I thought it was the end”
“I remember the day when I had nothing to say
Just look at me now I'm shouting”
These lyrics are pretty appropriate for Brian Johnson who went from giving it a go in Geordie, deciding he gave it a try and was gonna move on to opening a garage, and then joining AC/DC, where he’s done quite a bit of shouting haha
If he worked in a garage he would be on a Highway To Hell.
Geordie Rocked!
Damn this is badass
🤘😎🤘 haven't heard this for ages!
Brian and his band were big fans of Slade.
Can't you tell ? ;)
Obviously
Yes deffo slade style foot stomping stuff
That voice was spectacular in his hay day
He really hits those high notes 1:34 Brian is a legendary singer.
Prerecorded
He kinda sounded like Bob Seger or Hagar in Montrose.
Loving these videos Brian
You can hear hes evolving from the vibrato filled cleans to a gritty high shout here
When pre AC DC was a glam rock band ...!
Look at that hair! Robert Plant eat your heart out!
Did you know Geordie reformed in 2017? I wrote one of their songs, 'See You Now' take a listen, it is on RUclips 😊
I was a kid then , loved NUFC and loved this band.
Please explain NUFC

@@king77703 OK thanks
Loving the Toon top!
Молодцы , пацаны , классно лупят...
👍
A star was born
He should do this one with AC/DC.
If he could only hear it...
He still sounds exactly the same, 48 years later!
Nah, he completely ruined his voice in AC/DC
@@David-cu1xy his voice isnt ruined. Obviously its more worn out because of years of touring but its not ruined, just more worn
@@David-cu1xy You haven't heard the new album then. He sounds great on it.
@@David-cu1xy Agreed.
I love AC/DC, but Brian sounds like Donald Duck on some albums and recordings!
There used to be a video on here that showed the degradation in his voice over the years, but it was taken down.
Play Geordie's 'Goodbye Love' better yet, watch the video! You won't be saying that for long. haha
Reminds me of Slade
Best song The Band eveeeerrrrr 😎🤘🇧🇷😎😎😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Totally Slade!
Brian was rocking big hair long before the 80s hair bands
💗Brian Johnson❤️AC⚡️DC💕
Dispensa🇮🇹
That hair tho, that doesn’t even look like the Brian Johnson we all know from AC/DC. He had talent before AC/DC and he has amazing talent while in acdc 🤘🤘🤘
ЗОЛОТЫЕ ВРЕМЕНА!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Freakin' 'ell I had a pair of boots just like Brian Johnson's back in 1973.
It sounds like Slade !
Having been a teenager at this time, I would put Noddy's voice above his for both power and sound. I saw both Geordie and Slade a few times in their heydays and Holder could absolutely bring the house down with one song. I saw Slade live with Thin Lizzy and Suzi Quattro both supporting them and bugger me did my ears ring, but that was nothing against seeing them when Quo were supporting where they were just trying to 'outloud' each other. Slade won by the way :)
I believe Noddy was the first choice as replacement for Bon, but turned it down.
with some T Rex and Beatles thrown in.
Noddy Was asked and he said NO. Bummer because it would have been brilliant "Nuff Said "😊
Great harmonics, he could deliver the gravel or plaster the ceiling.
1973,Brian was performing and recording when AC/DC were practicing their craft.
Well, it was the studio recording that they played along with for the video, anyway.
✊✊✊
☺♥
Slade really made quite an impression in those days…
WOW
Brian's voice reminds me of John Forgerty from CCR.
Did someone mention here they sound like Slade?
Brian 👍
Though lesser known than his brother John Fogerty, Brother Brian Fogerty had a brief moment of fame during the "disco" era.
Love it does Brian have any photos of his old town Dunston?
Loving Brian's book, so funny. That's why I'm here. Always knew about geordie but heard they were pants. I thought that was a good song in all honesty 😊
Grezzi 3.000 !
В семидесятых все катушки были забиты до упора джорди дип перпл лед зеппелин гранд фанк юрай хип маунтен свит кисс рэйнбоу дио слэйд статус кво и тд здорово 👍 было здорово 👍
Brian Johnson and Dan McCafferty seem one person in two bodies, they even look alike, similar voices
Those boots, though 🤔😃
I lost track of his career after Geordie. What happened to Brian.
Done with lip-sync wich was common those days but you hear already that Brian was and still is an awesome singer.
Definitely not live, sadly they were made to mime, like a lot of bands on TV performances back then. Still cool to see this though!
A lot of people don't realize this. AC/DC did this a lot in the 70s too. Top of the Pops comes to mind.
Its live. That's me on the drums.
@@lifeofgaming6112 😂
@@KaioKakarot All of AC/DC’s videos are like this: even the back in black ones.
I remember when my band had to lip sync. We were told we couldn't play live cause of the fear that the young lady's would freak out and throw there underwear at us on live T.V. So me and the rest of the Beatles had to agree.
Very Slade like.
Ther were big fans of Slade and Brian always imitated Noddy Holder
Esooool...Al calor de la hoguera.
Thank God he found AC⚡️DC.
ACDC found him...actually because of a Hoover Vacuum commercial he sang on!
Danger Dave No AC/DC knew of him because Bon Scott had toured with Geordie when he was in an earlier band and spoke highly of him. Brian was hesitant to come down to London to audition for AC/DC but got a call from a friend asking if he’d be willing to come down to London to do the Hoover ad. Brian agreed to do that and check out where AC/DC were having auditions. He figured if his audition didn’t go well or it all turned out to be phony he at least made use of the trip by getting paid to do the Hoover ad. So in actuality he recorded the Hoover ad the SAME day he auditioned for AC/DC.
@@crissrudd4554 Yeah I saw that bit of info on Brians channel and mistook the Info.
(Brian initially turned down an audition with AC/DC in London before sound man Andre Jacquemin invited him down to do the voiceover for this Hoover commercial.
Now able to pay for his train ticket to London, Brian took the chance on the audition too and the rest is history.)
thank you
AC DC you find the God
Plus Bon Scott when to one of Gordes concerts sadly Bon Scott picked his own replacement and sadly Bon Scott died a few years later
Brian and John Fogerty from Credence Clearwater Revival sound very similar
Brian sounds just like Bob seger, wow
Slade 😁
Newcastle's Slade!
Rough 3000 !
Ez az! Eredeti studiofelvetel. A kép is jó! Jobb a hangszerelese az AC-DC nél. B. Jones itt meg ki tudta énekelni a magas hangokat.

sappy song
Джонсон - МОЛОДЕЦ!!! Но штанишки и ботинюшки в те времена....это что то!!!
Supermac
Noddy Holder of the North
Bollocks live, that's the record.
They sounded like Slade
AC/DC 1973... 😁😁😁
This song has a melody like another song, can't quite place it, Rod Stewart or Bad Company. I'll update when I figure it out
@saved by the word Also much later "Same Old Situation" by Motley Crue. Normally it goes "Big fish can't sue little fish, but the opposite is possible." i.e. The Ronettes suing George Harrison, or The Emotions suing Mariah Carey.
One dislike the drifting loner
AC/DC is great but you can see that his career could have taken a whole different path!!!
GEODIESLADE
he's still got that stupid jig/dance
Sounds like Slade
I always enjoyed this version of his music better....seems more natural. I thought Gary Anderson was a better fit for AC/DC.....shows what I know.
Ac/DC with Brian helped move metal fwd. Flick of the switch is such an underappreciated LP...Solid album.
Never heard this song....hmmmm
Had quit music and was refitting windscreens when….
Before the AC-DC producers turned him into an awful screaming banshee
That year ac dc was with a terrible singer, as Malcolm said, named Dave Evans and they released the single can I sit next to you girl
He sounds more like John Fogerty than Brian Johnson here.
and a bit of Noddy Holder
@@arminnaschberger3969 Agree, mate!
ACDC
AC-DC bolo ešte v plienkach..,,😁😁
This is the studio record its not live good performance though
