Comedy of Errors will always have a special place in my heart because it was the first episode I saw. The interesting thing about episodes where Blanche's appeal is the highlight is she's dramatic but absolutely right. As women, we are not only always expected to look a certain age, but we're treated as if we've expired once we pass a certain age.
Oh that's neat that was the first episode you saw. And for sure you're right about women not being able to age. Being expected to maintain a specific level of beauty and body for as long as possible to be desirable or interesting and it's a lot of pressure.

Help! Looking for the episode where Dorothy thinks Sofia needs a hearing aid test and turns out it is Dorothy who gets a hearing aid. The comment that Rose made about hearing, music and Beethoven had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes.
I believe that that episode is "Hey, Look Me Over", which is the first episode of season 7.

"FEELINGS" episodes.. coaches and admins pressuring teachers still happens. before, during, and after COVID/Pandemic, teachers are highly advised to reconsider how they grade students and student athletes.

Hello hello!! Why thank you so much for asking. Its going alright I suppose. I am currently fostering a cat that is learning how to well .. be cat and you know, its a slow go. He still only lurks in the bedroom and his litter is in there so a lot of meeping from him and then noises of his digging in the litter at like 2AM. Trying to enjoy the summer and such. How are you???

Ideal mate uh… understand my sense of humor, rational being. Humble and grateful to how far they have gone.
Yeah the assault on Rose hurts my heart to watch but glad Dorothy and Blanche stay by Rose.
The football and grade episode first introduced me to privilege. Still familiar to my high school days of small town America, “well John X didn’t get a passing grade, be ashamed if you lost funding,” or something similar. Plenty of jocks in high school trying to boost their grades to make it to play offs etc. Even a few in my soccer team in high school.
I want to go to Law School and travel the world is my biggest goal I currently have. My previous goal was to take care of my mom. It still remains and hopefully I will continue this particular goal as the years move forward.
With all due respect Courtney you are beautiful inside and out. I appreciate you being honest.

I really, really want to go to Harvard or Georgetown. I think RBG’s (may she rest in power) death helped accelerate this goal in me. Settling back to Earth, metaphorically speaking of course, I may go to the University of Cincinnati Law School or something similar if that is my calling.
It’s my duty as a son, and may even help my aunt too, if that is required of me. She is like a second mom.

Courtney, what about Blanche sexualizing every man who came within her line of sight? If Rose was assaulted by her "wowee" dentist, it seems only fair to assume Blanche could have assaulted her dentist by grabbing his wang while he drilled inside her pie hole, lol. What I never understood was why Blanche got offended by the College professor who suggested she sleep with him to get an A on her exam. Hell, Blanche slept with another guy just to get him to sign Rose's petition to save the oak tree.
I hear what you are saying. In th episode, and I can double check when I get home, she said the dentist touched her. While she was under. That is a molestation. Blanche, and I would be too, is offended by the professor because he is using his power of grades against her. That dynamic is not equal and he should not proposition her. That is offence and inappropriate. She is a student in that context. Blanche does sexualize men, in the context of the show she is having consensual sex. I don't disagree that sometimes she throws herself at men and that could be crossing a boundary. Dealing with this episode in context, Rose was assaulted. And blanche sleeping with someone consenting, even if it's for the oak tree, is not the same. I don't agree about assuming Blanche could have done something to a dentist. That isn't in the show and I don't think a fair assumption.
@@StayGoldenGirls Good point, but it's hard to understand how Blanche could see any fault in a man who became too handsy when her entire reason for living was to have sex. Remember when Dorothy thought she was grabbing Stan's parking brake? For sure, sexual assault is wrong and illegal. However the show's characters seemed to often categorize sexual harassment as ok such as when the grocery boy followed Blanche home. Lots of mixed messages as in Blanche discovering her "beauty" as a power to drive men wild, or when her moonlight breasts caused music to play, lol. Best of all, GG was light years ahead on issues of immigration, race, being gay, senior homelessness, lack of health insurance, etc.
His proposition of sex or handsy as you say is not invited. It wasn't about attraction it was about leveraging something she needed, a grade, for him to get sex. That's manipulation. She can be a sexual being, any woman can, but it doesn't mean she welcomes or should be okay with someone crossing a boundary aka being too handsy. Being okay with your sexual side doesn't mean you have to be okay with someone sexualizing you when you haven't given the okay.
Dorothy and the parking break, in that joke I recall it being framed as a mistake, but it would have crossed a boundary.
I don't think Blanche talking about her beauty as a metaphor/image of driving men wild is on the same level. The show does skew at times to make the girls actions seem more acceptable when they are flirting or behaving at times more than a man's. That does happen and unfortunately in real life that can be the case when any consent or boundary should be honored. The show does waver on this issue at times. I agree.
It gets plenty of issues right and highlights important ones, as you listed for sure. And goes a long way towards representation

Well I appreciate the consideration and conversation and I agree with you for sure on the mixed messages and in some ways a double standard for women in what's flirty acceptable for them is not for men in some contexts, it happens in our regular life and it should be accountable both ways. Why is Sophia's letter black? That's always bothered me. Paper doesn't turn black with age. Sophia wasn't born in The Middle Ages.
