I have one of these; a blue '15 model. It came from G&L's Custom shop, because it's left handed - and they didn't make those "stock". It IS a nice bass, too. I'm not really an active bass fan; I run it passive about 90% of the time - like most of my 24 other basses. But, it works just fine when I do run it active...
I think Tom is criminally underrated, Sweet Emotion is one of the best bass intros ever and this bass is particularly interesting, although I would personally go for a slightly crisper sound and not so much buzz on the lower strings.
If the buzz is really bad and you bring it to a repair shop and the shop has a relationship with G&L, you could possibly get a replacement. That happened with my Squire bass. I had a really bad buzz and my repair shop had Fender replace the neck for me.
Too much "Sauce" from the word go there Kev!!....lol your level was clipping so bad ..or a bad cable somewhere but the bass sounds horrible ..hahahaha....I KNOW it does NOT in reality cause I own one...lol....but it is kinda funny
I've used this exact same bass for probably 8 years now and it never fails to bring a smile to my face. I will never sell it! Thanks for the video!

Trying to find out if I can get a blue leftie built for me as well. Could buy a Fender Jazz Pro II in blue but I like the ASAT better.

Tom has some good lines. Toys in the Attic is a real stamina tester.
@@KPJohnson Yeah definitely I'm trying to learn to on guitar at the moment at its very fast paced 🤣
@@Isxxc. there may have been some chemical assistance.

Was the Asat bass the last production G&L bass that Leo Fender designed?
@@danielcapalbo5293 yes, I believe so.
