You can see why Triumphs and English bikes were so popular in the states between 1955 to early 70s ,Poor Harleys .were so heavy and slow, back then, Thanks for a great show Bill. keep them coming

Back when I was about 18 (mid 1970s), two of my friends had T120s. They were such beautiful bikes and sounded brilliant.

Hi bill, exelent video. In my modest collection of bikes I have two Brits, and one of 'em is a 1968 Bonneville. Dearly love my Bonnie, makes me feel like a hooligan on two wheels😂. Its rediculously easy to throw around, and the sound is addictive, at least to my ears.
The front brake actually is pretty good once set up properly.
Well, I'll have my own episode at home, and drink a beer,..while looking at my beautiful bonnie.
    Keep 'em coming, cheers mike

    Wow ,old memories for sure.
In 69 my buddy and I went to a dealer.
He got a Bonn, wanted the tiger but could only afford the Trophy 500 at I thinking paid 1200.00 out the door. They were both great bikes ,after riding his I was kinda glad I got the 500.At 18 I could have got into a lot trouble .

That's a beauty. Back around 69-70 a good friend of mine had a Bonnie I think it was a 68 or near abouts, it was black and it was a beauty. I had a 66 BSA Lightning red and chrome tanks but I always liked his bike more than mine. Had a blast for a couple of summers, recycled a shitload of beer to boot.

I bought a new one in 1968, the paint scheme on mine was called "Olympic Flame". Thanks for showing the bike, my heart still sings hearing that girl. I don't think it's the original seat as mine had a handle hoop on the back of the seat for passenger to hold on to but my beautiful wife held onto me (may she rest in peace) and I'll be seeing her again soon.

That’s a beautiful Bonnie. Blue sparks at the points may indicate that the ignition condensers need to be replaced. Those sparks aren’t healthy for the ignition points.

The twin leading shoe front brake was better than a single leading shoe brake as well as better than the Lockheed disc brake that replaced it. I have crashbars on all of my vintage motorcycles a very worthwhile investment to protect your bike.

A lovely sounding Bonnie. I always put the twin leading shoe brakes on my Triumphs back in "the day". They are a definite improvement over the sls brakes fitted on the older models. I know this is 7 months after you made the video, but did you tighten up that valve nut on the front wheel? 👍

That's good lineage if it came from Raber. I only know them from their YT channel. (They shut down their parts business before I got my first vintage Triumph, which was a couple years ago.) I wish they had done more instructional style videos, but the few they produced have been helpful.

Lovely bike Bill! I dropped into Rabers about 10 years ago when my '68 Bonnie I was exporting back to the UK shed an airfilter. Bob was a real gent, let me look round the parts dept and gave me a few Rabers stickers to "stick all over the London Underground"! I also jumped a pushrod up in the Napa valley and a kind local lent me some tools and insisted I tried out some of his beers, and I thought it was wine country!
You can see my bonnie here (we're the Lemon Drizzle Gang, in search of cake & tea rather than beer!)
    ruclips.net/video/FV_WIHQ6cyw/видео.html
P.S. That isn't the original seat (or at least cover), they were smooth in '68 rather than "basketweave", just changed the original foam on mine (part number in the foam) but managed to keep the original cover. All the best from England.
P.P.S There's a bottle of BSA beer right at the end of our Rocket Three video, brewed in Birmingham of course...
