Against all odds, a young mother cat and her five newborn kittens survived the recent storms in Hollywood, Florida, barely escaping a tragic fate. With little shelter from torrential rains and strong winds, it's nothing short of a miracle that the babies did not drown.
Hollywood, the momma who is just a kitten herself at just under a year old, has shown incredible resilience and strength. She is a sweet girl who has managed to take excellent care of her newborn babies, who have just now opened their eyes for the first time! While they were outside, a kind-hearted Good Samaritan was looking after them until he was finally able to find a rescue organization willing to take them in. With most rescues already at capacity this time of year, he didn’t hear back from anyone for weeks.
Our organization, however, was fortunate enough to have an available cage and the necessary hands-on team ready to care for Hollywood and her little babies. Relieved, the Good Samaritan drove the family to our rescue, where they were bound to stay safe from the relentless storms. Since their arrival, we have been working tirelessly to ensure that Hollywood and her kittens receive the best possible care.
