    It’s not ONLY Parisian women who will not wear the trends you mentioned. MOST WOMEN in the world are not going to wear them too. Those trends are mostly for celebrities and influencers. Just saying because that’s the reality of fashion.

    Love your honesty, Alice! It’s sad that some women jump on whatever ridiculous outfit they see a celebrity (who’s obviously being paid to look crazy) wearing. And it’s even sadder that some of these designers are banking on women’s need / desire to be trendy.

    Holy moly, got a big laugh this morning at the atrocious "fashion" shown on the runways! Not only in Paris, can't see any classy woman anywhere wearing see-thru or pantless or leggings in public. Thx Alice you spent a lot of effort on this video. Merry Xmas!

    You're absolutely right, Alice. These new trends shown here are hideous and tacky that French women (and others who's got sense of style) wouldn't wear. I don't follow trends since I only wear timeless staples that work for me and are guaranteed to last many years regardless if they are trendy or not. A functional, sustainable and practical wardrobe with high quality classic garments is the key to always dress well for every occasion. Love your content. Merci 💕

      Classics in quality brands. I mix with some lower cost fashion.
      Though I always have quality well fitting matching lingerie. Maybe nobody can see it, though you feel the confidence. Well I speak for myself.

      I have seen people in Paris wear leggings. I have seen them wear flared leggings. I have seen them styled great. Of course Paris is one of the places where men are kind of forward, but still, leggings are great.

    The term “quiet luxury” is silly. You can be a quiet dresser without spending luxury prices , which is how most people dress.

      It means to look high quality without external labels or overt 'bling', it may not be your personal style but it's not silly.

    I think this was very well presented. I was so happy to see the length of pants becoming longer. But, Nooooooo, capris and the ripped jeans again. Please no. Finally, leggings became pants now tights are pants. Mon Dieu 😮 I agree with you 💯 percent. Merci ❤

    I think a pair of leather culottes, Bermuda shorts can look really elegant, depending on what you style them with and a cropped trouser, I think its definitely that in-between length that looks awkward

    Two years ago I watched a video that said we must wear at least one “statement item”. But, why? I replied that I always prefer to dress more quietly, I don’t have to make a big statement in every outfit. Now quiet dressing is a trend, but it’s not new to me. I think we should always be true to our own style and wear only what we love, and that there is no “must wear” or “essentials”. I don’t like jeans, black tops, pencil skirts, sweatshirts, big long cardigans, or other so-called “must-haves”, they’re not essentials to me. My essentials are so different.

    I always watch your vlogs but today I noticed something different. “Retarded Teenager” are such strong words. I hope you’ll be careful with words next time. ✌🏼

    • @Lauralouk77
      @Lauralouk77 11 месяцев назад +4

      The meaning of her phrase is the idea of someone that never grows up, someone whose style is stuck in that teenage phase. When English is not someone’s primary language things can translate differently.

    • @aleesha4900
      @aleesha4900 11 месяцев назад

      It's just a bad translation. Coming from "retard" in French meaning "late". And it's the idea she had by "retarded teenager", someone who hasn't got out of their teens when they should have long ago. Meaning they are "late". She put the "ed" to make it sound English.
      English is not her primary language (not mine either) so she makes mistakes.

    Fashion comes and goes so they say but how about ‘ something new and different…as well as elegant! ‘ the fashion nowadays is to ‘die’for and I don’t mean wow ‘ die’more like yikes die! Hehehehe
    It is getting boring with this repeat performance fashion and yes the capri pants are frumpy and that is why women got away with it in the 50s but it is so not working in millennia!
    Have a lovely Christmas Day! Looking forward to hearing more from you in the new year! 😀🎉🎉🎉

    Pedal pushers (I think capri length is actually quiet a bit longer and similar to cropped, no?) are the ugliest thing ever created. A thing of the 50s that should have never been revived! On the pantless trend, used to be people understood some styles are purely editorial and for the runway, not to be worn in real life. I guess not everyones got the memo!!

    I’m not so sure a agree with the capri pants also known as cigarette pants if they run to your ankles. Catherine princes of Wales often wears a capri/cigarette pant suit and look stunning/ fabulous. Yes the pants you showed ending under the knees are a disgusting look on anyone but in Australia they are referred to as cropped pants not capri? So maybe it’s a country naming rather than the actual style! ❤

    The trends for 2024 are such a disappointment. Ripped jeans, panties as trousers (we called these “hotpants” in the 70s, tacky embellishments - there is little that appeals to me. I loved the return of classics and neutrals in 2023, those are my style. The 2024 colors, too are awful - I hate the Peach that they’re pushing. The last time it was trending, called Blush, I couldn’t find anything in the cool, pale pink I love for 20 years. I’m buying what I like now in this classic color before it disappears again. I hope they come out with better ideas next spring. There are usually some, less extreme, trends that I like every season, but not for 2024. I guess it’s fine, I don’t really need anything new.

    Leggings belong in the gym only. Capri pants are universally unflattering. They make the legs look short and look frumpy. The brief shorts and the sheer is just tacky and dumb.

    Quiet luxury is just luxury.. beautiful fabrics and well made .. more expensive because of the attention to detail... designer may or may not be luxury . Logo is relatively new .. it started in the late 70’s or early 80’s with designer brands putting small logos on their clothing..over time they became larger and larger until the logo was the focus ..now it’s just going back to how it used to be to be .Now not wearing pants I just don’t understand 😂.

    The trend of sheers, lace fabric, mesh, etc. was designed by, and is being promoted by, brands specifically to use cheap synthetic fabrics, which give them astronomical profits. I don’t care how they dress them up, polyester and other plastic fabrics are just not something I will ever buy.

    It is difficult to reflect your style to be different. For those who want to look like others, it's fine. You don't need a design and color theory class to dress boring. You don't need a video either. Long live the frivolity! Who cares about the French!
