If don’t have one issue one after verification. Get the photos done at post offices like the application process for passports. Proof of ID Identification is needed to prove you are who you say you are. This can include: Your passport A full or provisional UK driving licence (you can often use this to prove both your identity and address) An EU ID card. How do you provide proof of ID when applying online? See which ID documents we accept in branch. This is when criminals try to disguise money that has been made illegally to use it for their own benefit. Criminals often attempt to open a bank account using fake or stolen ID. We try to stop this by verifying all our new customers with proof of identity and often their current address. If you’re applying online, we try to complete this electronically using our security partners DigiDocs or Mitek so please have your ID to hand before you begin your application. See how else we keep your finances safe. How can you prove your identity online? We want to get your account up and running as soon as possible so we’ll ask you to upload some documents. To do this you’ll need access to a device that has a camera. This helps us check you are who you say you are. We'll ask for: Photo ID, such as: driving licence, passport or EU ID card A selfie to compare with your photo ID We might also need to see a proof of address, such as: a driving licence, utility bill, bank statement or tax document. Please make sure the documents you use exactly match the information you enter in your application. If you don't have your documents with you, you can select to do this later. Once you've finished your application look out for an email and text from us and our security partners, Mitek or DigiDocs. If you're under 18, we may need some additional information. You can use your full or provisional driving licence as proof of both your identity and address proof of both your identity and address.

There are a lot of ways, no I'd bank accounts exist. I work with a few Kurdish guys who all share one monza payment card, they all deliver food, under the same name, and use the same account.
Isn’t this because the process for getting an elderly travelcard is more rigorous, and therefore it’s more reliable as ID? This is like me complaining that my mobile phone bill isn’t valid proof of address, but a bank statement is.
Why not put in a law similar to the Australian law. Where you are legally required to vote. Exempt for certain circumstances. This would give governments a clear mandate of what people want. Also we can get rid of the I am not voting, but will then complain that goes around
I'm Latvian. We have to take out a passport at age 15 and then renew it upon expiry. If the law here said one must have a passport from age 15 and everyone HAD a passport from age 15, it would not be an issue to require it for voting. The issue is that not everyone in UK HAS a photo ID. If you don't drive, which many Londoners specifically don't do, and you don't have a passport, you can't vote.

So glad Sadiq got reelected.
Hope it bites you before it does me 😒
This was a good law. What are you talking about. You need to make sure only the people that are allowed to vote can vote
If a country for some reason need photo ID for voting, they should automatically issue one for free to each citizen eligible to vote.
I read a comment about this man that disturbed me: A man who was a staunch supporter of this man observed him and his minders at a gathering step over an old lady who had fallen and hurt herself.
He said said it was the look of distain in his face that chilled him to the bone.
If you do not have photo ID today, you have no right to vote - simples. Who are you, where do you work, where do you live, what do you drive, what job centre are you registered at, where do you study, how do you prove your benefits are yours????
Tell us why in the EU people have to carry PHOTO IDs
And use them to Vote
We don't have to carry our IDs all the time. Other than elections, registered mail delivery and banking, I was asked for my ID about 4 times since I was issued one 30 years ago.
If you believe that by changing a government it will save this country...think again, buckle up & be ready for a ride you did not want !
Easily solved Sadiq - new migrants to the city, as well as every Londoner aged 18 and over gets a photo ID card to participate in London life - to work, to access benefits, healthcare (the NHS already requires an NHS number to access healthcare/NHS digital apps), housing, travel on public transport etc.
At age 60, as free transport entitlement for citizens over age 60 - checked for their ID card again. If don’t have one issue one after verification. Get the photos done at post offices like the application process for passports.
Examples of businesses requiring photo ID - Even banks require photo ID for starting an account. Costco requires a photo card to shop so why wouldn’t a photo ID be required for such an important event such as for voting???!!
There is no reason for not having ID in the 21 century. Those without ID can be assumed as non eligible or illegal entries who have no right to vote for local or national elections.
Sadiq - instead of making a sweeping rule of being able to vote without photo ID you should safeguard the voting process to ensure only ones eligible are able to vote. Unless of course you are feathering your own nest for your own future election successes but letting any Tom/Mohamed vote without checks??!!
Yeah they are called illegal immigrants.
Asking for ID isn't a bad thing, everyone can get ID.
Many of the people who would vote against the Tories literally cannot afford photo ID. It is NOT illegal immigrants, it is young people, poor people etc. give your Tory voting head a wobble.
Have you ever voted in your life? Explain to me how an "illegal" immigrant can walk into a voting station and be issued a voting card.
No, that's a lie fueled by bigotry, we have a registration system for voting in this country already
You absolute clown. You think 900,000 illegal immigrants live in London

It's ridiculous that you need ID to buy a litre of Vodka! You tell them! How dare they expect people over the age of 18 to present identification for something as important as getting pissed. Not only that, I was pulled over the other day and was asked to present a driving license!!! How dare they expect me to meet the criteria required to drive a car... ridiculous, Londoners should be ashamed for allowing this pillock back in office
Meanwhile all UK residents from the EU have their EU passports
In fairness, it did backfire massively since most of the people who were turned away were elderly people who didn't know their ID had expired. Also Boris was turned away too which was hilarious
And they STILL couldn’t win!
literally the only photo ID i can get as a young person is a passport yet never could afford to leave and a driving license which require money for lesson, it was easier to register to vote than to actually vote
You can apply for a voter id card. No charge from your council
You don't need to pay for lessons to get a provisional driving license, but you do need to pay for the license.
Just lazy excuses.
Provisional driving license is £34 and there is no obligation to have lessons. Many other forms accepted.
Last resort, you can even apply for a voter id card for FREE.
@@TurinTuramberbut that actually needs to be advertised. ....And yet he still won. Well done, Mr Mayor.
Exactly! Record third term for Mr Khan. A great mayor and everyone agrees
900,000 people (that Khan knows of, not counting the many illegal immigrants) who are unable to show idenfitification with relative ease. That is a major security concern!!!
Worst part is he knows what hes doing. If they refuse to register on the electoral, they're avoiding it specifically.
Good to hear him just be able to talk.
I have done my part in the closest thing to democracy that the Tories are allowing us, almost as if Peterloo meant nothing. I might be a Green party member but I am also aware of how the voting system has been rigged, so I voted to keep Mayor Khan in his rightful place and then I went Green Green for the other two positions available for the wider council places.

Wow. How calculated. They know they're going to lose.
Are those people living under a rock, they need to get a photo ID then.
Australians go to a registered place to vote in a a government election like a school. Once inside we are asked for our full name and address. The scrutinare looks down the list of names on😢 an electoral index. When she or he finds one matching yours it is crossed through using a ruler. Then you are given 1 or 2 voting sheets to put your preferences on, when you are finished you fold them and slip them into a secure box with all the other votes. This is the way we do it here.
Imagine saying that being asked to prove your identity before you are permitted to vote in an important election is a bad thing.

So let me get this straight 85% of Londoners have photo id. Sounds a lot different when you flip it on it's head doesn't it
Just get an id it’s so simple. You cant just have people voting who aren’t citizens of the country it’s absolutely nuts. There is no reason not to have voter id other than to allow non citizens voting.
If a country for some reason need photo ID for voting, they should automatically issue one for free to each citizen eligible to vote.
Residents who are not citizens can still vote in local elections and even without voter ID, they still have to register to vote and prove they have that right so voter ID won't really affect if non citizen residents can vote
Everyone should have to show ID to vote and 16 year olds don’t give a f about voting they have better think to do at that age .
He can't rig it now lol
And he still won. Anyone might think he’s popular in London.
And that's how you managed to stay in.... poor turnout

Every other country in Europe requires photo ID to vote.
The problem isn’t with voter ID, it’s with the ability to use different kinds of ID
1/3 statistic is also impacted by legal migrants who stay there for at least 5 years without the right of vote
That's absolutely not true. There are 21 different forms of ID listed on my poll card. Sadiq seems to have done alright with it in the recent election. You can't blame the Tory's for everything 😂
Thats totally their own problem. It is not difficult or costly to obtain a photo ID. It's no ones fault but their own, if its largely ethnic minorities wothout photo ID.
Absolute bollocks, so nine hundred thousand people in London have never flown and never never had a bank account.
900000 haven't flown in the last few years so have no in-date passport is very believable
You don't need photo id to have a bank account
@alexsmallwood9895 What do I need to open a bank account in the UK?
When you're applying for a bank account in the UK, you'll usually be asked to prove your identity and address. There are different types of documents that different banks accept for you to prove where you live and who you are. Are you new to the UK?
Proof of ID
Identification is needed to prove you are who you say you are. This can include:
Your passport
A full or provisional UK driving licence (you can often use this to prove both your identity and address)
An EU ID card.
How do you provide proof of ID when applying online?
See which ID documents we accept in branch.
Proof of address
Your bank will need to check your address, so they know where to send statements and any other info. Proof of address can include:
A recent utility bill
A recent bank statement
Tax documents
A full or provisional UK driving licence.
How do you provide proof of address when applying online?
See which address documents we accept in branch.

Why do banks ask for proof of ID and address?
We work hard to prevent money laundering.

We'll ask for:
Photo ID, such as: driving licence, passport or EU ID card
A selfie to compare with your photo ID
We might also need to see a proof of address, such as: a driving licence, utility bill, bank statement or tax document.
Please make sure the documents you use exactly match the information you enter in your application.
If you don't have your documents with you, you can select to do this later. Once you've finished your application look out for an email and text from us and our security partners, Mitek or DigiDocs.
If you're under 18, we may need some additional information. Please refer to 'What ID do I need if I'm under 18?' for guidance.
What ID do I need if I'm under 18?

Documents we can accept
The quickest way to get a NatWest account is to apply online, but if you haven’t got the online ID documents ready then you can bring them in to one of our branches or send via post.
You’ll need one document to confirm your identity and one document as proof of address.
You can use your full or provisional driving licence as proof of both your identity and address proof of both your identity and address.
You should need to have proof you are a citizen in order to vote. Otherwise anyone can vote and being a citizen is pointless.
The proof is being on the electoral register. That's the proof you are eligible to vote (some non-citizens are eligible to vote in local elections). Photo ID is just an unnecessary barrier.
Yeah that's what registering to vote is for
there's this little thing called the "electoral register". you might learn about it tomorrow in primary school.
If you pay taxes in the country then you should have a vote
Google 'the electoral register' and you'll find out some interesting facts about why what you just said is wrong.
Without lies Islam dies!
Even if this were true (and it isn’t) you can easily apply for a voter id FOR ZERO COST! I suppose though that voters who are unable to even do that are more likely to vote for him. If only the conservatives didn’t put up such an unbelievably dud candidate he should have been beaten! 😮
Johnson was one of them
While I agree photo ID is unfair, you can't get a bank account without one, so how are these people doing anything? How are they getting their wages or benefits if they don't even have a bank account?
There are a lot of ways, no I'd bank accounts exist.
I work with a few Kurdish guys who all share one monza payment card, they all deliver food, under the same name, and use the same account.
I found it a little frustrating to have the ability to vote be removed from me. They have lost the my vote, as I would only vote tory,
its not the first time blair had it, he was labour
If you’ve never been on holiday, and you’re not interested in driving. It’s unlikely, you’ll have any photo iD.
Isn’t this because the process for getting an elderly travelcard is more rigorous, and therefore it’s more reliable as ID? This is like me complaining that my mobile phone bill isn’t valid proof of address, but a bank statement is.
Whatever drives the big data money machine is fine by me!
To get benefits you need a bank account, to get a bank account you need a photo ID.
I'd for voting should be mandatory for everyone

So does that mean older travel cards have a photograph and the younger person's travel card doesn't? 🤔
Why not put in a law similar to the Australian law. Where you are legally required to vote. Exempt for certain circumstances. This would give governments a clear mandate of what people want. Also we can get rid of the I am not voting, but will then complain that goes around
European countries have voter ID. I thought he loved the EU.
Silly comment
Most EU countries require a photo ID, considering about on hours drive I can be in the Netherlands Belgium or German it makes sense....
The government gives the people that ID the UK does not if they required it they should be made to provide it to EVERYONE eligible
Voter ID is not an EU policy, is it Jim? Otherwise we'd have had it until now...
Still stuck it to the Conlots!!!!
