Hi mate, thanks for all your good advice. Have a LC200 2018. Starting to soot up a little. Toyota had it the other day and said passenger side is still partially blocked after a forced burn. Said they will put it to toyota. Car is out of factory warranty but has only done 87K. Has a correctly fitted Provent 200 catch can drained weekly. everything else is ok so hopefully they should rectify the issue. Will keep you informed.
I've just had the same argument with the dealership I'm buying a new Fortuner from. They reckon my factory warranty will be rendered void if a catch can is fitted. Such crap.
Best ever investment! Cheap like chips, compared to the “big bill”. What the factories give you or even non is purely crap. We fit proper pre filters to all our machines we build in our factory or on imported machines into the country. How many?.. last month count was over 9,000 Machines with Diesel engines from 3 ltr. up to C27. We are dealing with this every day and still face customer who dare to buy original filter from us and use some cheap copies. Just wait when it fails and start crying for warranty on injectors and HP pumps. No 2 nd. Thought necessary ?! Cheers and have a nice weekend.
G,Day Andrew, Is there any benefit fitting a catch can to a 98 HZJ105R which is pre EGR model, 1HZ of course ? and does the game change if aftermarket turbo is fitted + front mount intercooler ? Most of the videos/literature is around modern diesels - CRD
I'd think it would help keep oil from building up in the intercooler to keep it working efficiently and just keep your intake cleaner in general, I've got one on my tf rodeo fitted with a front mount and the intake is so much cleaner with it on, something to consider
Another great video, sounds like your voice is just starting to crack there Andrew didn’t know you were so youthful...🤣 maybe just working to hard mate..
I have been informed by a veteran mechanic that the oil caught in a catch can is otherwise generally burnt off when sent back through he system. To add, when the catch can is fitted, the ratio of soot to oil that passes through causes a far more abrasive and damaging type of build up. This information has been determined through gathering of extensive data.
Berrima Diesel are The KINGS of diesels. I listen to no one else.
You're Welcome

Sooty Tailpipe and LC200 = Toyota failure they know abou tit!
Cheers
I worked for Toyota for years this is spot on.
I'm at 300,000kms on a VW TDI 1.9 and have put a catch can on. I'll do the fuel prefilter too. Cheers.
👍
The intake cannot be too dry and fuel cannot be too clean. Simple.
Completely agree Andrew, Keep up these video's mate, always tuning into your opinions and feedback 👍
Cheers
Andrew, with Colorado having 2 fuel filters is one a pre filter or do I still need to add one?? Cheers and keep up the myth busting!
Due to lack of room just fit a catch can and leave the fuel filters as there are 2 they have plenty of coverage.

Make sure you use Genuine Toyota Fuel. ;-)
Afternoon mate,
Where would you recommend the water seperater before the factory fuel filter or after?
Cheers Adam
Pre filters ALWAYS Pre (Before)

No need on the old ones. Cheers

No real need in non CRD engines really. Also if you have that much oil in an old one you have bigger problems.
Wise words chief, would a post filter (2 micron) after the 5 micron factory filter be a good option in your opinion ? (1KDFTV)
Just use the Genuine Toyota normal filter. Its already a 2 micron made by Denso who make the injectors. More fine filters more restrictions possible.
thank you, you are spot on !!!
Cheers
I got both on my new hilux, no issues
Good vid mate well said. Got those two exact products fitted to my dmax. How do you rate the dmax engines?
Good.
Which catch can is that? Make/model
www.berrimadiesel.com/products-services/oil-catch-cans
Toyota dealers will send car to have both installed before pickup !
What are clean and safe air fuel ratios for a 1hz running around 12psi
25:1
There are definitely aliens though
I have a isuzu d max that puts a 140m of oil in it ever 2000 km if I do not have the oil change ever 5000km it is like it's got diesel in it
Id say use a 5W40 or 10W40 oil.
Love it
What about a plug n play?
Unplugged no problems. Dealers play the deceit gain owners can unplug stuff too :-)
I for got to say it is in to my catch can and the dealer said it is normal
It might be normal BUT using a European/Japanese Climate oil 0W30 or 5W30 is the first problem.
Another great video, sounds like your voice is just starting to crack there Andrew didn’t know you were so youthful...🤣 maybe just working to hard mate..
Haha in need of a Friday Beer
