Even the Dark Empire as flawed as it was, was explained quite well to make it interesting.
The post Endor Galactic Civil war also felt like a massive galactic war similar to the Clone Wars in legends it also got pretty dark and deep. The different story lines and various battles made it another "small" part of the huge expanse of Legends conflicts and events. Even if Legends was a bit of a complicated mess sometimes it had stories and a very detailed timeline spanning thousands of years. It was really like a encyclopedia of Star Wars history and as detailed as studying real life history.
In legends the Empire split into many smaller factions lead by warlords usually generals and admirals. Grand Admiral Thrawn would end up forming the largest fleet combined with 2 other imperial admirals and a general under his command. His group would actually very nearly destroy the New Republic but he was assassinated by his body guard after he found out the imperials were poisoning his planet. Imperial remnants were still around after Thrawns death but would never really recover from the loss of Thrawn especially since he was well beloved by the soldiers. In Canon most of what this guy said is correct however. The Imperials acted on a operation that is used after Palpatine dies. Operation Cinder was were many imperial friendly and non friendly worlds were destroyed with only important people being evacuated like Generals or engineers. After the defeat on Jakku all major operations were pretty much stopped there and that wasn't the end for them yet. A select couple of selected groups of imperial remnants were chosen to go out into the unknown regions. Grand Admiral Thrawns work and navigations were used to navigate into the unknown regions. They also had a guide. These remnants eventually became the First Order but before that for years they'd kidnap children all over the outer rim to join their ranks. Grand Admiral Thrawn is also still alive somewhere in the unknown regions possibly back with the Chiss Ascendancy.

What about the new “Phase Zero” Dark Trooper that showed up in the Star Wars: Battlefront games? Those new versions were old Clone Troopers who had been modified with cybernetic parts to make them more machine than men.
After Battle of Endor, Stormtroopers actually gained more respect and strength. With Imperial Remnant realized they need good soldiers, the thinning STs were put through real training and logical warfare.

Leia even says their escape was too easy and that the empire let them go. 2) Watch the opening scene of 4. Storm Troopers literally sweep aside the rebels in a defended position through a fatal funnel within seconds and take only minimal casualties. 3) Obi wan even says that the attack on the Jawas was so precise only the storm troopers could have pulled it off. 4) I have actually watched the OT and paid attention to the story. The plot of the Imperial remnant cells, being led by warlords and their plan to rebuild the Empire is a very cool storyline, that is a gold mine for a star wars political thriller. Not only it makes the rise of the First Order make more sense, it just feels right, narratively speaking.

The game Star Wars Battlefront 2 (not the remake) made you care so deeply for the clones and the stormtroopers... hearing them talk about losing and then avenging their fallen brothers on the Death Star was so powerful, its still with me today decades later. Disney bought a gold mine, then poured concrete into it and built a market selling dust mined from it. It would be cool if you linked the artist/source for the art! Definitely recommend doing that in the future as its helpful and takes only a few seconds.
The Disney canon explanation makes no sense for that, they had billions of soldiers and millions of competent officers, the new republic would struggle for years like in legends dealing with all that
And whose feeding and supplying those millions or billions. Without the support of the Empire they would all collapse. They could fight and lose of drop weapons and move on. Plus it was mentioned that warlords took what power they could, even in Mandolarian series, imperial warlords try to claim planets and power
In legends not really and again you missed all the points for example the first/final order is not the empire and fact that new republic was mostly meh was part of the storytelling
I find it sad that storm troopers were just civilians just trying to make a living maybe supporting their families and the rebels just seen them as enemies
What never mada any sense given the size and power of the Imperial Fleet and Army the lose of the Death Star wouldn't have mattered. The Rebels were never powerful enough to face them. I guess that's just Hollywood.
In legends really it's best to think of it like the splintering of the Roman Empire. Different generals(Admirals) took control of different segments of the galaxy and all battled for the title of emperor, this let the now New Republic to get into the fortified galactic core and take the capital everyone wanted. Coruscant, then Palatine returned through clonage and attacked everyone and reunited most of the empire again. Then was killed himself through his sith madness allowing the new republic to stand a chance again at retaking the core and destroying the empire.
So, the Space ISIS forces the law and order, the stable jobs, the “whatever the empire touched, it improved” soldiers to go into hiding while the “New Republic” crumbles, and thousands each year travel to the Imperial Remnant by the Outer Rim. Yeah, LONG LIVE THE IMPERIAL REMNANT (legends version, not that Disney ‘becomes First Order’ crap.
What's really cool is that in the Legends continuity, by circa. 21-22 ABY the successor faction to the Empire, the Empire of The Hand, kinda become the good guys, and you can really start to see that I the novels Fool's Bargain, and Survivor's Quest. Their were events in later Legends novels where the Empire and the Galactic Alliance (successor state of the Republic) assisted each other in galaxy-wide crisis. The Empire, while much smaller from 21-22 ABY onward, was a very organized and military/defense valuing society, but accepting of all races membership to the Empire was by invitation and what they could contribute to the overall growth and protection of its people, and not by force or the threat of slavery and death.
I imagine a few groups had it work out for them, maybe a system still under Imperial control when they had a small fleet. Nothing serious, but enough that they kept away pirates and other minor groups, and far enough that the new republic would view it as a 'waste of resources' to send a large enough fleet and ground troops to lay siege to a system so far away from the core, mid-rim, and even for what little outposts were in the outer rim. Somewhere in the far off outer rim, or even a part of wild space... Then at some point, decades later, they got absorbed by the First Order. It'd be a cool thing that could be legends, or canon if someone can eventually find a comic or reference to a system like that.
in Legends, one of the long lasting Imperial Remnants was the Imperial Biological Welfare (Warfare) Division, which is where the Death Troopers originated...
It wasnt that their numbers were low, it was that the infrastructure that maintained supply lines was gone. "An army travels on its belly."

I wonder what's going on in other galaxies in the star wars universe if there's like similar stuff going on like another galaxy at war or another galaxy where everyone can use the force due to selective breeding overtime and massive lightsaber wars. Or like a galaxy of peace or a galaxy where technology is so advanced that the star wars galaxy is like monkeys to them.
He forgot the imperal warlords as seen in the mando series as well as Legends, besides Thrawn is cannon, and he is the Grand Admiral warlord.
Very interesting very well explained
I like how it ended in robot chicken where the one general wanted to take out the rebels, but he eventually gave up after one of his officers said that the emperor died
that happened in battlefront 2's campaign with admiral versio
Thank you for this, for helping us understand what happened to the stormtroopers after the fall of the empire.
Bro. It be cool to see the story of storm troopers after the original trilogy. Seeing a group of friends leave each other or try to kick start the empire all over again. A group of friends torn up after the war.
I’m pretty sure there’s a fan film about this but I don’t remember what it was called

True, the more you think about it. Blowing up a V2 wouldn't have instantly make the Nazis surrender either during WWII, so...
Could it be that Star Wars, no matter how much we love it, is secretly stupid? :>
@@roffels11-gamingandhistory69 Star War's isn't stupid, Lucas never said the war finished after Return Of The Jedi, the movie ended Luke's journey. What's dumb are the current Disney writers who think a galactic empire who recovered without any problem from a galactic conflict 20 years prior can be easily dismantled after their leader died, which, surprise surprise, was casually killed by them.
*100s of millions of other warships, and an endless economy*
Nice timing on the loop🎉
What about the new “Phase Zero” Dark Trooper that showed up in the Star Wars: Battlefront games? Those new versions were old Clone Troopers who had been modified with cybernetic parts to make them more machine than men.
That loop editing is just superb. Very nice work.
Did any of the Empire storm troopers make it into the first order?
Some, but not many were around during that time, it was mostly new recruits
Fun fact: the stormtrooper who hit his head into the door in eo 4 became a first order officer. He is TD-110

Stormtroopers becoming a gun man for hire😂
This was good info aboutthe stormtroopers. I also found it interesting how the Rebel Alliance made them take off their helmets or be shot.
Stormtrooper as a misser, I mean gunman, for hire.
The Imperial Remnants did last a bit… depending on the timeline. ‘Tis truly an Expanded Universe of content~
Good short video, thanks for this! :)
After Battle of Endor, Stormtroopers actually gained more respect and strength. With Imperial Remnant realized they need good soldiers, the thinning STs were put through real training and logical warfare.

Disney did the stormtroopers bad by making them a laughing stock.
Are you on drugs?
In the OT they constantly missed are a since a new hope. In return of the Jedi they were beaten by Ewoks, which are _stick-wielding teddybears._ There were jokes and memes about them for the last 40 years - long before G. Lucas even had the thought to sell Star Wars to Disney.
Whatever drugs you take, stop taking them and watch the Original Trilogy. XD
1) Yea, they constantly miss the heroes, when they were told to let the heroes go by Vader in order to follow the Falcon back to the rebel base.
That’s why have this opinion. I didn’t just jump on the bandwagon of “haHa Sturm TroOPers Bad aim”

I love the "The Force Unleashed" music in the background.
Most of them opened coffee shops and restaurants on the outer edges of the universe. A few opened up strip clubs on near by planets.
Directly after Sidious' death, there is a theory that they killed themselves for seats in the shuttles while leaving the Death Star because you can hear shots in the background and no rebels were on the Death Star.
Hence why I personally like the Star Wars Battlefront 2 campaign
Stormtroopers are my all time favourite sci fi trooper. Have been since the first time I saw A New Hope.

The plot of the Imperial remnant cells, being led by warlords and their plan to rebuild the Empire is a very cool storyline, that is a gold mine for a star wars political thriller. Not only it makes the rise of the First Order make more sense, it just feels right, narratively speaking.
Rumor has it they are still dealing with the VA' or every bar in the universe has storm troopers in it.
“People never think about how things affect the family of a henchman”
Little do people realize that the empire was good and the rebels represented what’s wrong with the world

I would not hire a stormtrooper as a gunman...
those poor storm troopers. They didn't know what to fight for😢😢😢
The game Star Wars Battlefront 2 (not the remake) made you care so deeply for the clones and the stormtroopers... hearing them talk about losing and then avenging their fallen brothers on the Death Star was so powerful, its still with me today decades later.
Disney bought a gold mine, then poured concrete into it and built a market selling dust mined from it. Sure, you might get a Mandalorian (season 1) but you are much more likely to get a The Last Jedi, Rise of Skywalker, or Book of Boba Fett.
Thats the most accurate representation
Lmao i love the shot of all just sitting around the fire 😂

Gunmen for hire?! Haha! I don't think anyone would hire them with their track record!

@@CountryLifestyle2023 They still had like every planet

And first order isn’t the empire lol. You clearly don’t know the empire Siri view in the legends and stays all the way up to the end

Legend has it that to this day they still haven't hit a single thing they aim at.
I want a POV as an imperial solider, I want to see the true might of the empire.
Sidious is Death Star after we will see each other soon with Storm Troopers
“But *of course* they would fail, as they’re numbers were too low” I don’t think that’s ever mattered in star wars
Ones a stormtrooper always a stormtrooper. 💪🏼
A series about a high ranking imperial officer on the run from the growing new republic could be interesting.
in Legends, one of the long lasting Imperial Remnants was the Imperial Biological Welfare (Warfare) Division, which is where the Death Troopers originated...
