Very good video i have a chance understand better. This spring i want to convert sour cherry tree about 30 years old to sweet cherry KGB system. I want to cut branches and graft to sweet cherry, can you tell me ,can i do it? I am watching your videos it help me to improve my garden. It is great feeling when on our garden everything is growing nicely.

Why did you cut the larger branches? Wouldn't they be good or do they make it too uneven?

@@CherryFarmEurope Please explain haw did they disturb the balance of the crown? What was wrong with them? They looked to me perfectly fine.
@@gancarzpl If I hadn't cut them off now, they would have become too dominant in the coming years, this way all branches will be equally developed.

Конечно, для вишневых деревьев зеленая обрезка желательна, но не столь радикальная обрезка, я рекомендую подобное только перед началом вегетации.

Hello, I planted a potted cherry tree last fall, it has never been pruned and the first branches start about 4 feet above the ground, can I cut this tree down at 24 inches to lower the branch structure for KGB? Would it harm the tree to do this?? Thank you
Yes you can if you have buds on that height.
There is no buds that are actively growing pushing out from the bark but there are lumps on the bark where possibly old branches were removed.

@@thanhphat3781 no, a large branch would bear large fruits, but it would harm the other branches because it would draw the most energy. Use Npk 6.12.24 and nitrogen

Do you have access to NPK fertilizers or manure?
Yes, a little bit.
Throw about 20 tons of manure and 500 kg of NPK, but all this is done blindly without soil analysis, we can only guess what they need.
My gardens had coarse white worms that ate the roots of trees. Pests are high because of the high humidity we constantly fight, but the toxins here are poor quality and the shelf life of the trees is low do you have any suggestions to fight the worms? Идея хорошая для переформироаеи старого дерева, но к сожалению, не все сорта подходят для KGB. Можно не угадать и урожая будет мало на вертикальных побегах
Согласен, но вариантов выбрать такое старое дерево для эксперимента у меня было не так много.

У Вас есть опыт формировки яблони и сливы по KGB? У меня в саду растут яблони и сливы с вертикально растущими ветками . Каждый год я обрезаю по раскрытию кроны, но на следующий год ужасное загущение вертикально растущих веток и так из года в год.
