Sadly the final verse wasn't on the lyrics that I found first.
Thanks to Mark Horning for pointing out that this song was written by Jordin Kare and not Julia & Anne as listed all over the internet. I can't find a version sung by Jordin, but here is an interview with him:

The thing you need to know about Jordin is that he actually was a 'rocket scientist' working on the space program. It's the first thing about him when you type his name into Google. He was a great guy, and the man who introduced me to filk, way back in 1979.
Yes, his talks on laser space elevator crawlers are fascinating. And fortunately still up online.
This is one of my favorite filk songs. Sad for the lack of the final verse, but wonderful.
I normally do this on a 12-string, strummed, and a lot faster. I like this slower interpretation.

Um... Pushing the Speed of light is by Jordin Kare. Julia and Anne recorded it, but Jordin wrote it. Been in my songbook for years.

@@DanielKellyFolkMusic The problem is that the version from Space Heroes & Other Fools has been shared repeatedly over the years without the appropriate credits from the J-card. Fortunately the Filk Wiki has all the credits documented.
I see Darkness credited to Julia a lot as well, which is also Jordin's.
Updated now, would have had to really go looking to find that out. You don't happen to have a video of Jordin singing it?
