Big change at the end of this year. New Bangkok grand station will open near Bangsue district and new trains will be served in some routes and the station you see in this clip, I think, will be converted to museum.
Good details video overall coverage. Like and Subscribed. I watched your First Class Bus Video travelling from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, it took only 9 1/2 hours. I think I will much prefer to travel by bus.
Another nicely made video, thanks! Very interesting to watch, just after your overnight coach video, to make the comparison. Was very surprised to see the coach was so much quicker and a very reasonable price!
Looked very relaxed. I like the design as far as being modern. I like things to be more nostalgic if it's a long trip because to me it feels a little more romantic.
我老香港人看過豪華巴士由清邁到曼谷現在火車由曼谷到清邁。我喜歡火車多過巴士雖然價錢貴睡得舒服過巴士!個人空間比較大廁所...Me old Hong Konger have seen the luxury bus from Chiangmai to Bangkok now compared with railway from Bangkok to Chiangmai 。l choose train more than bus although train price expensive but sleep comfortable than bus ! Personal space bigger and toilet...
Taking the train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai or visa versa should be done in the daytime so you can enjoy the diversity of the country as you pass through it. The night train never let's you enjoy that. You leave in the dark and arrive just after daylight.
Great video, thanks for sharing about your experience! This looks a lot more fancy than the first class that I took in Thailand, I wonder if it's because of the route? Keep up the great work!
Plz make some more traveling videos like u made this train journey and bus journey on same route I loved both the videos plz make some more videos like this!!! love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳❤️❤️
Hi, Thank you for sharing this video about this. I have questions for you, do you know if the train station still serving trains to Chiang Mai? I have heard that the North trains have been relocated outside downtown since January 2023. and do you have a broker that you can recommend to contact and get this 1st class experience?
Very good video. Just one suggestion if I may, you filmed the station at Bangkok, it would be nice if you also filmed walking in to the station or city at Chiang Mai as a nice finish. But good videos.
I have travelled 1st class Chiang Mai to Bangkok. There is one problem going this way; the 1st class carriage is right behind the locomotive, and the A/C unit for the carriage is on the roof. At slower speeds, engine exhaust fumes are sucked into the A/C unit and into the carriage. Otherwise, very comfortable, the buffet car and its catering are no where near the old train, all microwave fast food packs now. I have been traveling Thai and other trains for nearly fifty years, as far down as Singapore.
gr8 video ! Quick question. Did you book the tickets online ? If yes, from where ? There are quite a few website to book from. Just wanted to make sure which is the best/reliable one. Thanks :)
The video was ok some things you left out that you should have mentioned what time do you have to wake up is there a dining car and did you have a traveling companion or did you have another passenger in your cabin
Hi, thks for the fantastic video! But may I ask one question ? Cas I always travel alone So the charter room rate (26xx baht) means I can occupy the whole room without share it with other person and no needna buy both upper and lower bed seat right? Best regards
Well it is about time they actually upgraded them. I am pretty certain I got the same scruffy dirty 1st class sleeper carriage in 2012 that I took back in 1981. Only difference was the windows were by then opaque and the shower was too dirty to enter. After that, I preferred to drive or fly.
Very nicely filmed I like the idea of no vocals. The new sleeper train looks very nice but would prefer the old style. I no longer take the nighttime train nor get anywhere near Chiang Mai city just too many foreigners.
Seasoned train travelers in Thailand know that 2nd class sleeper beds are more comfortable. Why? Because the beds are configured parallel to the tracks (not at right angles as in 1st class). This makes a huge difference in sleep comfort and continuity when the train frequently stops and starts during the night (at stations, rail sidings, etc.). Yes, less private; but that is rarely a problem in polite Thailand.
awesome video. I hope to be able take this train when my girlfriend and I are travelling in Thailand in Jan 2022. Also 2:41, you always trust Bangkok to see a young Thai girl with a wierd old white guy .. pandemic or not .. LOL
ผมไม่เคยนั่งเลย ตู้รถไฟนี้ เคยแต่นั่งแบบธรรมดา ไม่รู้ว่ามันเป็นแบบนี้ I have never been seated. This carriage used to, but it was a normal ride. Didn't know it was like this
there are very few countries in the world where trains are regurarily faster than buses on long distance. Germany, Austria, Switzerland, BENELUX, parts of France and Great Britain, maybe some of the Scandinavian countries and parts of Spain. Besides that you have Japan and parts of China, and that's pretty much it. In all the other coutries around the world buses are usually faster than trains, at least for long distance, except for a few high-speed rail corridors that may or may not exist...

Pagla kahin ka!
My wife and I have taken this sleeper, in the other direction, Chiang Mai/Bangkok, a number of times. An excellent service!!
I really want to take the train to Chiangmai fro Bangkok, I did about 25 years ago and we all love it! Thank you for the video 🙏🏽
So do I! Would love to do it again.
WOW!!! BIG train station. I love Thailand. It's nice and clean. Thai people are very nice as well.
Thats tiny compared to the new Bangkok train station at Bang Sue which has just been completed but not yet operational.
Thank you 🙏🏻 😊
How do you get the first class car to yourself? Do you have to buy both tickets?
Nice and clean!! But of an overstatement for a lot of areas lol
Nice yes, clean well honestly, i gotta disagrees with you on that one bud, still a great place however.
The trains are getting better and better in Thailand! Thanks for the video! Cheers from Alaska!!

Wow. Beautiful "new" train looks like. Hope they get the high speed ones up and running some day as well. Much construction ahead

I cannot wait till everything is back to normal and we can travel freely without quarantine.
That looks cozy as f. Would be sooo amazing. Great camera work too!

Thailand is so small country as compare to India but it's superb in many things would love to visit once
Always welcome❤
I traveled from Bangkok to Penang, Malaysia, good old memories. 😘
THAI people are not lazy, they do their job well.
Sorry but who said they were?

I like how the bottled water was named "rotfai"
Meaning Train or steam locomotive in Thai "car+fire"
Same in my mother tongue Malayalam
"തീ വണ്ടി"
Which means=fire vehicle

Japan, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Norway, Russia, Thailand and so many other countries' trains make Amtrak in America look like trash.
Ikr Indonesian made rollingstock would be far better
It’s because AmTrack is crap
I agree Australia has a great railway network. Well actually NSW has the best train's in Australia.
Amtrak in America makes Amtrak in America look like trash lol
Rode Amtrak. Cannot rebut.
This is very nice for Tourists who has the TIME for this kind of experience.
Considering we all need to sleep anyway, unlikely you necessarily need to fly. Besides, you get to see a bit of the countryside before it gets dark.
The country landscape is so similar to North-east India from where I belong! It just felt like I was on a train back home!
But Indian Train is nightmare 🙈

I like without talking. It feels more relax.
Do you buy tickets on the date of departure? How do you purchase a ticket?
is food served on trains? like dinner or lunch if its a day time journey?
Yes, but not this one. The one that have food served on trains is from Bangkok to Hai Yai.
It’s really cool I think it’s luxurious,love from Thailand 🇹🇭
so neat and tidy luv thailand and their people are also so welcoming luv them.....
Great Train - a little more commentary would be helpful. Thank you.

Your videos are amazing. Did you use the iPhone 12 Pro for all of the videos or only in those where you mentioned it in the description?
Cool video! Thanks for sharing! This is interesting to see inside of the train!
Wow, great video. Immediately sub to your channel. Hi from Kuala Lumpur 😘
13 hours ride by train to Chiangmai? Btw, coach bus is around 9 hours! Correct me please if i am wrong, thank you!
They really love their royal purple theme
do they not feed you in first class? Also, you meant by 'chattered room'?
Love it
Great video. What camera are you using please.
Why was the train attendant making both bunks if only one person was in the room?

I prefer flying nowadays to save time but train rides can be fun if done during the daytime because you can see the countryside.

Yes
I have 2 questions. Is there anywhere on the train to smoke? And, how many stops does it make on this trip?
This Thai sleeper train is more modern and is better than US Amtrack, with shower and WIFi...
Really first class.
❤🙏😉
Love from India I am Big Rail Fan 👍
Did the toilet smell better than the Penang Ferry in Malaysia?
Did those pillows get fresh pillow slips?
Very nice video! Do they have any food on this train?

Hi there. Where did you book your ticket?
I like Thailand for many things and everywhere you see the purple color
More expensive than first class bus ....
Miss Thailand, next wanna try to go to Chiang Mai 🙏🙏🙏
If going solo would I get a stranger in the same room? Would I have to buy two tickets to get the room to myself?
So, now that you have done both, do you prefer the train or the bus between Chiang Mai and Bangkok?
Aircraft cheaper and quicker

Nice tour, but why take the train when the flight takes 30-60 minutes?
Airplane sucks
I prefer the day time train but that looks like a nice option that some might enjoy .
Is there a website where I can book the ticket online ?

Thailand, where trains take longer than buses , Bangkok to Chiang Mai.
With this level of luxury, I don’t mind.
Because of longer distance.
Within 3-4 years whole railway system in Thailand would change to be double railway. This will make traveling time of a train a lot more shorter
