Lol ! Sharon if you though he was being scary or whatever thats nothing compared to the things we did trimming trees at some of the places we lived. We just called one of our younger Brothers a Monkey due to it.
For a dead tree it hung for all it could, but you got it. Glad you can try to keep people out for now, but thieves always find a way. May God protect it for you. God Bless
Lots done and fence and new gate looks great hope it keeps the thieving buggers out and cant wait to see how the roof goes :) Thankyou all for a great video
Just so that you know ... I was on that rope helping y'all pull on that tree! So satisfying when it finally came down! Now the clean-up begins. Fire! Fire!
That tree was quite the challenge, it's nice you had your friends to help you. We hope you fence will help detour some of the people that were stealing. If not we hope the barb wire gets a few of them. Hope you enjoyed your nap
I was a bit worried about the tractor being in harm's way but you ushered it to safety and hooked up to a newer pickup truck to take that beast of a tree down. Good call. Keep that tractor safe - it is irreplaceable. 🚜 👍🏼
Poor old tree it just wasn't ready to go. It's good to hear that you are able to save a lot of the old roof. Well, look like you had a productive day. Take care and don't hurt yourself. That hurt last a long time when you get my age. God bless 💖
It is really starting to look good with all that brush and mess of trees getting cleaned off. If I didn't live so far away, Texas, I would come over and help stack up all those broken vines to get them burned. I enjoy watching the progress happening on the "Old Byrd Farm".
I meant no disrespect in my comment. I know your doing your best with the equipment you have . A large task for anyone. Interesting to watch your progress.
Here in Scotland I have an old barn with original iron sheet roof, rust actually will brush off a lot and the old sheeting is considerably stronger than anything modern you replace it with. Coat of sealer is fine and you still have the roof those old guys put up there all those years ago, which is the whole point of the restoration . The steeper the pitch the steeper the bill, as far as roofing is concerned and flashings are the things to watch, always leak, lead here in Scotland in the ancient buildings and we have buildings nearly a thousand years old !
That was one big old tree🌴 , glad you got it down without killing your self's, love the burnt fencing, that brings out the natural beauty of the timber, enjoy the rest.
Well done, I'm sure you would have all slept well. As we would say here in Australia "Time for a cold tinnie" beer. A well deserved one at that. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺🐨👍🍺🍺🍺🍺

Good idea burning the wood to help it be weather resistant and it smells good while doing it.
