Since I only followed your channel about 5 months ago, there are a lot of your videos I haven’t seen and it makes me so glad whenever I stumble upon gems like this one. It just sounds so bubbly and full of life with all those little arpeggios. Love it. Interestingly JLC did another arrangement of this later on under the same roll number, also excellent but more in imitation of Art Tatum.
Well, thank you! Myself, I think it's too fast. This was when my tempo had issues. It still kinda does, but I watch it closer. This is the original from 1924. I posted this on Vocalstyle, too. I may re-record them, especially now that I have a good base for a library and catalog system. :)
@@Skgwgaietto Really? I actually loved the tempo. I was a little sad when you lowered it at the last chorus haha! Certainly a challenge to sing though, and I can see how it would be lovely at a slower tempo too. I think the little treble bits at 0:38 and elsewhere are supposed to sound like chirping birds in the countryside. I listened to the Vocalstyle and US versions you posted but I must say, this is my favorite!
@rowanbelt3612 I posted the US roll? It's been almost a year now. That's so crazy to me. I can't keep up apparently lol. I need to get on this cataloging sooner than later
I love Art Tatum’s cover of this song, though Layton and Johnstone’s cover of this tune is also quite sweet! This piano roll version takes 2nd place, haha!
I absolutely love this roll, and want to get my own, but can’t find any on eBay. I wonder if there are other later QRS repunches that are the same arrangement? Any help would be great!
He was a Great Man and could play this in his sleep.

I love this! I hope your channel gets more subscribers.
I was looking for a piano version of this one. Simply wonderful.
Thank you! I also have videos of this same song on US and Vocalstyle posted as well!
Finally someone posts this amazing roll, played by Mr. Piano Roll Cook himself, thanks for this, it's beautiful.
Thanks for watching! Any other JLC rolls you'd like to hear? I have a lot scattered between QRS 1920s and 40s and some on US under his various names.
@@Skgwgaietto any and are all great. He was massively underrated as a pianist.

Check out Cliff Jackson's version. Trust me, you'll enjoy it haha
