    My lazy natural tip is to keep a shoe-box sized container with: spray bottle of filtered water, oil (whatever works best--in my case it's olive, almond and peppermint essential), wide tooth comb, Denman brush, hair clips, ouch less hair ties, and Bobby pins. This eliminates the need to constantly "scramble" for commonly used objects. If you are short on time or shortage space, you only need to grab one container and quickly style your hair. It also works well if you have children's hair to do. You can carry the container from one room to another and do their hair in whatever room if the house you choose.

    I wash and condition my hair in cornrows. It keeps my hair from tangling during wash day. Also, after I've rinsed my conditioner out then I take the cornrows out, put my hair into four plaits (moisturize it) and let it air dry. Once dry its dry I put it right back into cornrows. If I want different styles during the week-scarves, clip ins, wigs, or a clip in on ponytails let me change it up. FYI-I wear a wig cap and clip my clip ins onto it, not my hair. I also used Bobby pins to secure my ponytail-prevents breakage.

    Keep your hair stretched use deep treatments that can be done in under 5 min (Aussie 3 min miracle or aphogee 2 min treatment) use shampoos that can help detangle, use silicone conditioners for added slip and easier detangling (just clarify at least once a month) use a wide tooth comb its faster than your fingers and if used properly won’t do any damage take care of your body lol

    My tip is the protective style of keeping my hair constantly in twists. I wash my hair with the twists still installed and when they need re-doing I just finger detangle each one individually and then twist it back up again. I commenced this in May 2019, and myself and others have noticed that the health and length of my hair has improved.

      Wigs have come a long way after all these years, you can put your fingers through them now, all they are are wefts sewn together! I have scalp psoriasis so I had to stop wearing weaves because my scalp could not breathe. Everywhere there was a cornrow the psoriasis thrived underneath the braid! Wigs allow me to take them off and care for my hair & scalp daily! I've bought very expensive to very cheap ones & believe it or not, the cheap ones are the ones that allow the most air flow! Some of them look more like your natural hair than the real ones. Sure they don't last very long, but for what you pay for the others you can be in them for years, LOL! The secret is to treat them like real hair as well (SKIP the oils tho!) I let mine soak in a conditioner bathe, detangle while it's in there, then blot dry (no rinsing!) & hang to dry - lasts so much longer that it would otherwise, & of course, don't sleep in them.

  • @breebree1688
    @breebree1688 7 лет назад +5

    I usually put my hair in a high puff(since it is shorter and can't do much with it) making sure my edges are
    'puffy" to prevent breakage from the giant hair ties. I sprits my hair every morning with water to refresh my puff and stretch it out. I, of course, do not sleep with the hair tie in. I let it breath. and I only wash my hair if my scalp starts to itch or my hair feels dryer.

    Ive recently decided to start trying to get my long hair back. Its past shoulder length curly, but I lost about 6 inches over two years just by dyeing and generally ignoring its health. What Ive been doing:1) No more sulfates, alcohol, harsh chemicals (hair sprays, dyes, gels NOTHING. Cutting myself off). Natural products. If i need to hold my hair down i use water/light conditioner with a boar bristle brush and it works fine for my 3a hair.2) Rice water treatment weekly. Idk if its really all that, but my hair does feel very different everytime i do it. Less breakage and my strands feel smoother and stronger. 3) Vitagoods scalp vibrating massager. Helps migraines too, turns out. Very relaxing. 4) Only using Mercier brush and wide tooth combs to lessen damage.5) Homemade leave in conditioner with oils for root stimulation. (JBCO, coconut, Rosemary, Cedarwood, peppermint etc etc)6) Trim every 6 months. Gotta be done, always feels better after.7) I leave my hair alone alot. I only wash it once a week to avoid buildup and every day i simply wet it and the oils hang onto the moisture from the shower all day, feels very soft and healthy and bouncy.8) Hair skin and nails vitamins.9) Satin pillow! Hate the hair wraps they just come off. 10) Patience. If i dont get results from a year of this, I guess Ill just be bald.

I just do seven big twist & Bantu knot the end to keep my hair from matting and getting tangled, that way it always stay ready for me to style into my fro or it helps my hair stay detaingled until wash day, and I keep my hair moisturized with grease and water, and my hair is very healthy. I'm fifty years old and things with petroleum, or using hair grease is what we used to keep ethnic hair healthy, if you were relaxed or natural. in third world countries Vaseline or petroleum is the most wanted healing aid for skin and scalp with some type of esentric erb to help fight bacterial infections. please correct me if I'm wrong but is not the scalp skin on the head, so I don't understand why an emoluments are so bad for the hair and scalp to this new geration. To be honest when I went natural six years ago I can honestly say my hair was long like yours (stretched) my hair grew so fast. What helped me were mini twist!!! I would leave mini twist in for two weeks (I was in college) .. and the third week I would wear my hair out then the week after I would have mini twist or another protective style with my own hair for another two then repeat . I also finger detangled

    I just started doing in-between mini twist and medium sized twist and I leave them up for 2 weeks. Then I deep condition my hair, leave in condition, and oil my hair and scalp. Then retwist, recycling the same parts (I don't take my twist down in the process). I cleanse my hair once a month.

    This is a little off topic. I have 4c hair and its growing fine...but am I the only one who gets envious of other women's long flowy hair. I love my texture but dang, I just wish my length would show.

      miniimufin Agreed! Only way for me to actually see my full length is if I flat iron my hair. I hate it but do it up to 3 times a year.

      Try streching it with thread twice it gives it a blow dried look and it stretches ur hair until it touches water or its humid

      @gigglyfitzgirl 6 лет назад +6

      Maybe you should try doing a braidout. And there's one awesome thing that you can do with your hair that they can't because it hangs too much: get a round, voluminous afro. 😋 And the longer your hair gets, the bigger your fro gets. 😊

    • @AmandaD33
      @AmandaD33 5 лет назад

      You can try pinning your twist around your head for more stretch, you can do a tension blowout, you can let your hair get really long in a natural state so that it will show its own length naturally. Their hair didn't grow overnight that took them at least 6 years minimum

    I'm so lazy i wear the same loose bun for days if it looks the same when i wake up. I havent properly combed it out in years. and i go more than a month without remembering to wash. But my fro is thriving.

    I used to do the twist thank God I no longer do them it takes too long to put them in and then when you take them out it's a battle now I just keep my hair straight and put it in four braids under my wig with the ends tucked away. my hair is doing way better now because I'm able to comb it out once a week which helps it to avoid all of those knots and stuff. I will never go back to twist again in my life.

    • @Brownie8986
      @Brownie8986 7 лет назад

      Miss WOG Daily yeah I usually end up getting my natural hair blown out every 6-8 weeks (with a trim every 12 weeks) and just keep it up off my back and shoulders to prevent ends from splitting cause yeah I've dabbled in styling my hair in its natural state and it is *time consuming*. Lol I know they make massage brushes and whatnot but I just love the feel of a nylon/boar bristle paddle brush. It makes my hair shinier I feel whenever it's stretched so I feel ya. I end up keeping length because I don't get tangles! So I hear ya! 😊

    I am a BIG lazy natural but I’ve been struggling with how to get my hair the length I want it to be.
    But my regimen is just wash it every two weeks with a Maui shampoo, put in a deep conditioner, then spray it with a leave in, and twist it with a gel or curling cream. One the days when it’s dry I’ll untwist my hair and put a little oil on it because my hair doesn’t take oil two well but that’s my routine. I usually keep it twisted all week and only rock a twist out on special occasions or on the weekends

    My go to protective style is two feedin cornrows. With Marley hair. Cute hair style and protective especially with gold cuffs or edges. I leave it in for about 2 - 3 weeks depending on how well I do them. Before I sleep I spray (Rosewater, glycerin and JBCO) wrap and sleep. In the morning I put on blue magic castor oil contioner and go about the day. When I take them out do a bun or puff or whatever for a week so I can do the inversion method and massage my scalp in general then rebraid.

    I am not sure if this is lazy or not, but I guess it is. I will twist my whole head and then every week for a month I might retwist only around the edges and remoisturize. Same hairstyle for a month. At the end of the month a girl can still be getting compliments. Keeping hair moisturized makes the style look new even if it is not.

    • @cora9293
      @cora9293 7 лет назад

      Miss Elle it helps to lay the wig in place so it isn't moving when you wear it. also applying essential oils to your hairline before and after wears helps alot especially if you use a glue like gorilla snot or got2b glue around your forehead/hairline area

    • @niascaife6064
      @niascaife6064 7 лет назад +2

      Miss Elle I don’t lay my wigs down with any glues or adhesives. Personally I don’t find it necessary unless you have a wig that the laces rolls or noticeable lifts. If I were to glue my wig down I have the got 2 b glued gel in black and I put it in the tiny space where the parting is and no where near my baby hairs bc despite what these RUclipsrs say it will rip your edges out of you don’t use it properly. I have a Wowafrican wig that is great is sheds a bit but the lace is lays flat on my head. Also if you have your hair in small cornrows underneath your wig it should lay flat with a wig that has good quality cap construction.

    DRINK WATER DRINK WATER DRINK WATER! Shampoo your hair in twists to prevent tangles and dryness. I like to keep my hair stretched with satin ribbons while in twists by wrapping my hair with the ribbons. This keeps my hair elongated while also retaining length.

    Can you possibly do a video on your thoughts on Crochet Braids? I’ve only been about the CB life since last September. I did my own install last month. As I was crocheting my hair it occurred to me that the actual process might be damaging to the hair. First the metal hook being passed through braids and then the actual cb hair hanging from the braids. Am I wrong to think that this process might be detrimental? Any thoughts you have would be awesome sauce. 🌸

    I am super busy and terrible at styling so I twist my hair once a month in small twists or cornrows and about week 3 I just do twist outs until I go to the salon. I'm on the go from 6-8 weekly and my hair is thick and a good 12inches at least. I wash every weekend and moisturize daily. I find since I have become more dedicated to moisturising my hair has grown faster especially since heat damaged it and I had to cut it bit my bit for about 2 years to get rid of the damage
