My favorite Y and T album. Five out of 5️⃣. Still play this album 4️⃣1️⃣ yrs after its release. Tim/ great job on these Y & T episodes 👍💯
Love this series. Still need Earthshaker and Struck Down to complete my vinyl up through Contagious. Just saw Ten in a used record store for $70 U.S. Couldn’t pull the trigger at that price.😢
When I bought this album in 1983 II was so blown away by the opening mean streak riff, that I would pick up the needle and restart it again. Must have done that about 10 times before I let the song play all the way through. Can’t tell you how many times standing in a line and that opening riff starts playing in my head. It is permanently in my DNA. Also when you were talking about when sentiment fool was written, I remember seeing a video of a show in 1980 where they played it live, so it was written for the Earthshaker album but not used. I recall hearing that the record company wanted it used for Mean Streak so they could potentially release it as a single, but they never did release it, so that is why it seems a little out of place on the album. Long live Y&T who have continued to be my favorite band for the past 40 years!
Legendary group. Dave is still a phenonmenal guitarist and vocalist. He hasnt lost an iota of his fire and talent. Nothing diminshed. R.I.P to Leonard, Phil amd Joey.
I bought Mean Streak and Black Tiger on cassete the same day back in 1983. Been a fan ever since.
One of my favorite albums of my teen years😎❤️🔥❤️🔥🎸🎙🥁🎼💥💥
Lets do this kids!!!
Great insights Tim and John. Totally agree , there are so many deep cuts on here that should have been played on the radio. Thank you . Chez
Good show guys! Y&T have some killer tunes, I think I will go listen to some now.
I'm Sold on this album again.Just Incredible Detail and Passion for the music, thanks Guys!
Great show guys!
Y & T Black Tiger is my favourite. Great great band 🏆
I forgot to mention John the music nut is the hardest working guy on RUclips 😎👏👏👏👏
He really is
@@TimsVinylConfessions John is the Man! great insights on these albums!
Agreed. John does phenomenal work on every episode I’ve seen . Great insight 👍💯
Thanks Ernesto! I would defer to Grant on that but I appreciate it!
@@drewrose374 Thanks so much Drew! You always bring it on your comments on a ton of channels!
Another fantastic episode! I feel like this is the perfect companion for the book
Always appreciative of the shoutouts! I gotta start listening and doing the deep dive!
My Favorite Y&T album! A definite 10/10! There could have been multiple singles, Sentimental Fool should have been the second single.
Midnight In Tokyo and Lonely Side Of Town (my favorites!) could have been follow up singles/videos in my opinion. The production and
performances are the best so far. And for me personally, I would have redone the running order (which I have done on cassette back in
the day) and added the leftover track I'm Not Sorry on there. Plenty of room for that song, and then this album for me will be a 11/10!!! lol!
A&M surely dropped the ball with band and especially this album! Perfect album at a perfect time for me and by far their best yet!
Another great show Gentlemen! great points all around. and I love when Tim said he felt Y&T were too good for party rockers!
totally agree with that! but Y&T were known for this kind of song like Down And Dirty for me it's ok. Can't wait for the next episode!
This is one I'm surprised I haven't come across yet when digging. I will grab it if I see it.
Phil Soussan co-wrote Shot in The Dark. Jake might have touched up the riff.
Great review almost moved it up on my list
Thank you Stargazer!
SWEET JESUS!!!!
Black Tiger masterpiece produced by legendary Max Norman rules ALL ya big goofs!!!!!!
Max produced some great albums. Thunder in the East, Delirious Nomad, Visual Lies, a few of those strong Megadeth albums in the 90s, etc. If you write a book about Max, let me know. I will contribute! Ha! 😃
@@JohntheMusicNut I will kid!
@@JohntheMusicNut Blizzard & Diary dude!
@@JohntheMusicNut Y&T got Max Norman right after his two masterpieces of Ozzy Blizzard and Diary fella!!

How's the sound quality on the A & M Years Box Set?
Not as good as the individual CDs but it’s a quick way to get the albums
