It's all well and good being able to repair your inflatable kayak at home where you've got time to glue a proper patch on, but what do you do if you need to fix it while you're out on a trip?
In this video • Emergency Repair Kit f... I said I'd do a repair video while out on the water. This is it!
Kit seen/used in this video -
    Quick links -
Tyvek Tape (most expensive option) - amzn.to/48r6C12
Tear Aid type A (my fave) - amzn.to/3RygC1F
Tuff Tape (roll - dearer but better option) - amzn.to/3viZXYh
    Tuff Tape (patches) - amzn.to/3RrZWbW
I've created an Amazon list containing these and more good items - www.amazon.co.uk/shop/moretha...

Thanks, I have just ordered some Tear Aid type A from Amazon, since the repair kits supplied with my packraft and kayak are a little on the miserly side. That's always the worry about inflatable boats (rigid boats have their own problems).

Cheers Mick, I'm glad it's useful. I've not heard of the stuff mentioned. I've got some Dr Boat amzn.to/488I4df to try at some point.
      All the best buddy 🎅🎄☃️

Thanks for doing this to your raft, Carl! Do you consider this to be a permanent solution? If not, how easy is it to get the tape off so you can do a full repair?

I'm actually interested to see how long they last!
As for removing them, they'll probably peel off. If they don't, a little WD 40 will do the trick 👍😁

I've wondered how Gorilla tape compares? I keep some in my boat bag sometimes just in case.

You could always stick some to the underside of your boat before launching and see if it's still in place at the end of your paddle :)

@@MoreThanJustaCleaner Actually I've used it on my floor of my Paddleski 435ps which has a few small drain holes. As I use a Torqeedo 3HP lithium motor, at that speed when it's choppy water spouts through so I cover up the holes with Gorilla tape. I don't really need drain holes. By design you can't get more than a half a foot of water inside anyway I don't think. It lasts about a season or two, but is not permanent. Might be easier to get off if a hole was patched to make a more permanent patch.

It does sound like it's pretty robust though! :D

I used similar tape for emergency repair in fiberglass boat. It was enough to reach safe harbor after several sailng hours.
