Agreed, this vehicle is a choice, not a need. If gas money or economic operating costs in general are a concern, then stay far far away from anything Chrysler. It's about smiles per gallon not miles per gallon

I have a 19 scat pack which I have been daily driving for the last almost four years. A few things from me. The ride quality is a lot more comfortable than what I was expecting. I had a 2012 camaro SS and it rides better than that did. The steering precision is really sharp and connected, especially for what it is. Has plenty of passing power of course. I put 275 width tires all around and even with those, it still spins a lot in the rain. I gotta be very, very careful with scraping cause the car is so low, but I’ve inevitably scraped. I have it in the destroyer grey color and it attracts a MASSIVE amount of attention. And the gas…oh the gas…lucky I can afford it, cause it was normally $50+ per week before the gas prices jumped. Now it’s almost $70 or more 💀

I’m debating between and rt 5.7 hemi or the scat pack 6.4 hemi, obviously I want the scat pack but around my area roads are pretty bad and the scat packs are so low don’t wanna damage the front bumper

I’ve only had to temporarily daily mine when my daily is having work done and I’ll never shake the vulnerable feeling low sitting cars have. I’ve scraped the shit out of mine inside of a gas station on the fuel drops ( just the plastic under the car but still) . And hitting a pothole can ruin my day , and I have drag radials on the rear that up the anxiety when it starts raining lol.
Its just not smart to daily a V8, even if you have money to burn. You get your daily and your track car. Got my 2019 Zl1 Camaro for the fun and my Tesla for the daily. Put that gas money into investments.

The only way that would be cheaper is if you bought an old civic cash to drive everyday and only drove the scat pack every few months, that’s terrible advice j enjoy the car ur already paying for 🤷♂️

You are correct if you get certain types of cars one should not complain about gas. Also maintenance tires, break jobs etc it just comes with the territory.

It’s temporarily my daily the past week while my daily is getting work done. And it’s not the gas that bothers me, it’s driving a low sitting car over potholes, having drag radials on the rear and driving in the rain over more potholes 🤣. It feels impractical to daily drive but I’m used to pickup trucks, low sitting vehicles feel vulnerable to the quality of the road

I daily an 2008 RT 5.7L AWD lol I spend about $250+ on gas a month. I pay $1,400 for insurance for 6 months but I'm a new driver and it's my first car ever so that might be why it's super high

If you live outside a major city, you've got to drive something, so the question is how much more are you paying for the Scat Pack compared to any other mid-sized sedan. I've had both and I've verified it on 'total cost' to own on Edmunds. It's $350-$400 a month. That's a significant amount. If you saved that money and invested it over a 40-year career in an index fund, that's over a million dollars.
Damn... A perfect illustration of that "rich people don't live like they're rich" trope. I'd LIKE an R/T, but not only are they are very popular with car thieves, but the overall cost doesn't seem worth it. Especially with all the theft.

its very expensive! I. was spending around 150 a week on gas and I wasn't even driving the car that much. Mind you, I have two other cars but I wanted to drive the Scatty because when I'm working out of town I don't get to drive it. Now, since I'm home I only drive it on the weekends.

I work 6 days a week. 17 miles there and back I spend $105 to fill up from empty going to shell

@@inzo313 you don't let your tank get close to empty because your fuel pump will struggle to pump in the low amount of fuel at the bottom, it will also likely pump in debris that made its way to the bottom of your fuel tank. Think about it this way, do you really think that the fuel at the bottom of your tank stays there? Its always moving around, no need to "cycle in new gas"

I dont look at gas I just fill up. But I keep a detailed log on how many times i filled up, how many days in between, the exact amount and all that, so in conclusion i kinda do look at gas pretty fucking dang hard.
