Former Surgical ICU step down nurse saving lives during COVID almost cost me my own physical and mental health. From not eating, losing ton of weight, panic attacks, depression, losing all my friends. It almost cost me my life. I’m sorry to my sisters and brothers I left behind in the trenches. But it was time I saved my own life. So grateful I did ♥️. I can finally say my health is back.

You saved us, you sacrificed so much to just... Let us live, go home and...
I saw you... I saw the burnout... I told staff to go home, rest and sleep... I absolutely promise that I will still be here tomorrow but you need rest too.
Don't worry about me, I'm fine...
And I promise I'll still be here tomorrow 💜

It's about time this question was posted. We're still waiting for an answer...we're NOT super human.

As a former charge nurse at northwestern memorial hospital in Chicago, I quit for my own psychological well being after seeing so many people die needlessly. We were LAZY, we were IGNORANT, and we were very ANGRY. #SADSADSAD

Thanks for this video. I have found that even on the other side of the pandemic, nurses like myself are still experiencing a lot of burnout. I find that writing (I started a blog), getting out in nature, and taking time off work are essential.

    You know what's interesting?
When I signed a work document for a public sector hospital, they brought up the I-CAREs (ironic) form and it told us to not complain about overwork and understaffing. Oh well, if even the government doesn't care, then it's not surprising.

Healthcare workers are really stress and burnout during this pandemic. Long hours wearing N95 can really put you down. Episodes of breathlessness and giddiness on and off. I salute all the healthcare workers all over the wold.

Yeah. Hospitals are empty, and dr's and nurses spend most of their time uploading pathetic tik tok dances. Games up.

@@hycoperosity5843 You can as well get a medical degree to see what burnout feels like while working in the hospital. I experienced burnout last month at work and social media was all I had to keep myself sane because as much therapy I go through it wasn't enough. And I nursed Covid patients and was also scared I might get the virus while still scared of the vaccine. Chill and be thoughtful, yeah. We not joking. That is all some of us have, to keep us sane. Be grateful 🙏 ✨ 😌

So ridiculous. I suppose no war really happened in Iraq because I saw photos of troops not fighting and dying
