Sorry I don't really keep logs on smaller trips however it should be easy enough to work out based on the surrounding landmarks - it's how I'll normally try and find places.
Great vid mate, I have that spot marked on my to do list but unsure of the tracks out there, Just to clarify, you are saying Don't go down Thorn Rd but go straight and take Blackthorn rd route instead? Pizza looked yum too :)
Cheers! I'd have to double check, I may have even highlighted the wrong road. If you're out there you'll notice a really steep descent down a road that's slightly less maintained. I recognise it because each time I'm there I think I'll take that shortcut 🤣 Otherwise it's pretty easy getting in and out. I think NPWS have fixed up all the tracks on their side of it all.
Too funny. Wish I had watched your video before winching up out of Gauging Station Rd. Moderately rutted out and steep exit. Google maps tricked me. 😂 Great video and commentary.
I know right! I think I marked the wrong track in the video, but either way at least it says there's an easier way. Great job getting up that hill, it's a nasty one, I'd be thanking my winch for that!
Cheers for the comment, I really appreciate it. There's a lot of challenging tracks around that area and some really nice spots to camp - you'll love it!
20-25 is my go to for most tracks where the condition is a little unknown. At 3.5t dropping a little extra air out really helps smooth out the drive and reduces stress on the vehicle
It depends exactly what location you're referring to. I believe you could however it may vary based on your cars wading depth. If you flick through an IG message with your car model and desired location I should be able to tell you how achievable it is. I'd still drop some air. If you're normally Running 40 pound and drop to 30, it'll be fine to get there and back from Lithgow and it might just save you a tyre or a recovery - not to mention a more comfortable ride.
Just been there over the weekend. I was being lazy not airing down although I had compressor on board and it was an uncomfortable drive. So yes you can get away without airing down, but you just have to go real slow and be ready to get thrown around in the car... and maybe some breakages. 😁
I love it. I've had it in 40+km/h winds on the edge of a cliff. Yes the car rocks a lot and with any other product you'd be shitting yourself about a breakage, but the Bush Company products are built the toughest out of anything i've come across. It provides great shade, I'll often hang my UE Boom off the tie down eyelets, sopping wet towels off the arms and cops a flogging in it's bag when folded up (Great quality zipper and hasn't shown a single sign of needing replacement). There's zero leakage between the awning and my tent which is a huge plus as this is a common problem for other products. My gripes are: - The walls are heinously expensive if you want to get them - The walls only go up/down, they don't flare out like most others - When it rains it tends to pool. I think this is because the canvas stretches ever so slightly but the velcro around the edges for the walls doesn't. You need to slack it off substantially which is fine when it's rainy with no wind, but if there's wind you need to peg the guys wires down from the middle of each section.
@wolf.n.nugget Totally agree on the walls$$$, I can't justify the cost. I just recently finished a trip to Bathurst 1000 and we had some winds and rain, it was very impressive in those conditions. 👏
That pizza looked excellent man! Don't worry about the base hahaha.
Keep up the good work!
I appreciate it!
This is great, mate! If you're only two videos in, then you're killing it! 🔥
Cheers for the encouragement and inspiration, I'm loving your content!
Great video, thanks for the detailed info.
Do you have coordinates for that 2nd camp spot?

Cool vid mate! Spot looks awesome! Might have to give this pizza a go 🤔😅
great video mate, looking forward to getting out there myself

Top spot!
What kind of tyre pressures your running out there?

Could a 4x4 get to that place without letting air out of the tyres? Did you raise your Amarok?

@@wolf.n.nugget Going by your reply I think I’m not that experienced a 4x4 driver to get there and back ☹️

How do you find the bush-company awning?
I love it.

don't you love those Australian otters.
😂
cameras never do hills justice but the amarock would eat that
Are they 4x4?
