She radiates Ariel energy! It's so true what Rob Marshall (the director) said about her. A lot of performers would try to affect the sweet voice and the fey energy. But she literally has it without even trying! She'll bring so much depth to this role because she truly has the soul of the character! Really can't imagine a more perfect casting!

You mean the racism of culturally appropriating a Danish fairy tale by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen? Okay then, I guess you won't mind if we take Black Panther and cast a Danish man with red hair as Black Panther. We both know there would be riots in the streets if film makers were to do that. If you don't want cultural appropriation then don't culturally appropriate. There are many African mermaid tales that aren't a part of Danish culture. Those should be used or other originally created ethnic mermaid tales instead of racist culture stealing.

@@shuryhat7423 What I don't like is racist hypocrisy. Why is it okay to change a white character black but it's considered racist to change a black character white. We are not talking limited choices here like Halloween costumes or small town plays. You use what you can use. That's fine. But official worldwide releases are completely different. Can you honestly tell me that if a film was made today replacing Black Panther with a white man that the black community wouldn't be crying racism? We both know they would and I don't blame them. I wouldn't actually want to race swap Black Panther because race swapping established characters in an official release is racism. In doing that you are not only saying that the original character's race isn't fine as is, but you're also telling the culture the story came from it's no longer theirs. If it's not okay to do it to African culture then it's not okay to do it to European culture.
