They do, they add weight which automatically means they're rendered as an armor piece model, that's why some people equip dozer blades even if they don't use them
It can help with protection but, at the same time can be a pain in the ass when trying to get over slightly inclined obstacles, like going up in a hill or something like that. It also has collision so that's also to take into account

You can actually partially dig concrete on the cargo port map there are some dirt patches in the middle of the concrete and if you try to dig them you will make a hole wider than them, digging some of the concrete
Soviet/russian tanks: all equipped with digger by default and are designed to be used from hull down position in ideal circumstances. Also soviet/russian tanks: not equipped with sensible reverse gear to speed up digging said positions and allowing to reverse from them if under heavy fire. Because government officials and media don't see the digging process during demonstrations so it's not a drawback that would be highlighted and would require fixing😅
Agreed. It needs to move more dirt (maybe even twice as much) to be practical. Takes too long to dig deep enough and push up a high enough dirt mound to be useful in its current state.
My thought is for how fast the game is, most tanks should be able to make a hull down position with about 3 passes, they can slow it down after that to avoid crazy stuff, or maybe 6 passes for a full hide position for most tanks with digging basically impossible beyond that depth. Obviously this is 100x faster than real life, but so is the normal gameplay. I know they were originally better in beta testing but obviously everyone was screwing around with them and making areas impassable.

I have used it on my t80uk a few time sand it has honestly worked really weep. People just tend to not really notice you and once you do get shot you have a better chance at bouncing shells. But once ut turret is penned you are pretty useless

Thats what I was thinking about! I tried that premium Pakistani T-72 in test drive and I didn’t manage to dig deep enough, but later thinking about it, I thought maybe it can help with digging in front a bit, to be able to aim lower. Is it usable like that?
