Lemmy won't rest in peace, he'll just slowly decompose in the cold earth until he's a grinning skeleton dressed in scraps of leather. Which is very metal.
Honestly, I've never been much into metal and Ace Of Spades is the only Motorhead song I know. But, it's one of my favorite metal songs. Along with Ride The Lightning, War Pigs, Fade To Black, Hangar 18. RIP Lemmy.
"To be honest, although ‘Ace of Spades’ is a good song, I’m sick to death of it now. Two decades on, whenever people think of Motörhead, they think ‘Ace of Spades’. We didn’t become fossilized after that record, you know. We’ve had quite a few good releases since then. But the fans want to hear it so we still play it every night. For myself, I’ve had enough of that song." From: 'White Line Fever' by Lemmy - The Autobiography

+Mawerick77 Yup, it annoyed me when he kept saying metal. I'm paraphrasing Lemmy when he said their look is more metal but many of their songs are rock'n roll and punk.
+Fucking Slayer indeed Rock"n Roll' is just the whole rock spectrum (1950-1990), but Motorhead sounded more Hard Rock, AC/DC and Black Sabbath (ozzy era)
I'll continue a bit: www.independent.co.uk/news/people/profiles/growing-old-disgracefully-lemmy-on-heartbreak-ageing-and-his-penchant-for-nazi-memorabilia-2142747.html "We were not heavy metal," he snaps. "We were a rock'n'roll band. Still are. Everyone always describes us as heavy metal even when I tell them otherwise. Why won't people listen?"
+Fucking Slayer I'm not a Motörhead fan. Never been, never will be. Never seen them live and obviously never will. Only have two of their albums. If push comes to shove, I'm a Dio fan. What annoys me here is the fact that Motörhead IS rock'n roll. All rock music is, since it all started with rock'n roll. Heavy metal, hard rock etc. are just subgenres.
My Top 1) Suicide 2) Overkill 3) Under The Gun 4) She Deaf Forever 5) The Chase Is Better Than The Catch 6) Ace Of Spades 7) Till The End 8) Damage Case 9) Step Down 10) Bomber 11) Going To Brazil 12) Stay Clean 13) Born To Lose 14) Doctor Rock 15) We Are The Road Crew 16) Be My Baby.
I would not have even put "Orgasmatron" on the list. "Damage Case" should have been in the top 5 at least. And how about "The Chase is Better Than the Catch"?
And Grind Ya down, I'll be your sister, and many others. No voices in the sky lyrics are also insightful "Politicians kissing babies for good luck, TV Preachers sell salvation for a buck, You don't need no golden cross, to tell you wrong from right, The world's worst murderers were those who saw the light"
RIP Lemmy...had the great fortune of seeing him open for the Foo Fighters. Forget the angels singing him to rest...they're probably hiding in their clouds! Rock in Place, Lemmy!
My list would be: 10. Blackheart 9. Dancing On Your Grave 8. Thunder And Lightning 7. Go To Hell 6. Iron Fist 5. Ace Of Spades 4. Line In The Sand 3. Metropolis 2. Ridin' With The Driver 1. Killed By Death
honestly, of all three Motorhead songs Triple H used or is using, King Of Kings is so seldom heard and isn't as quickly associated with Triple H as The Game or Line In The Sand
I was devastated when I saw that he died after seeing him celebrate his 70th birthday on IG. I bought my first bass at a flea market for 75$, a Blue Soda Ibanez. Lemmy was my main influence on learning to play bass, I bought a Marshall amp, a distortion box and always played along to Motörhead’s albums. When Lemmy died I was in shock and for the first the time I felt sick about a celebrity death. I was 15 going into my junior year and I was absolutely devastated. First thing I did was mix up a jack and coke just like Lemmy sat in my room listening to the album 1916. What’s weird is sometimes you’re visited by spirits in your dreams when you sleep, and I dreamt that I was fighting off a zombie apocalypse and by my side with a stack of Marshall amps as tall as a building was Lemmy. In his gritty “stoke-on-Trent” British accent he said “hello sonny, let’s give em what they fuckin want” and he played born to raise hell and they hordes of the undead turned back into the living, it was so fucking cool like a music video.
Fun Fact: Lemmy had scored over 1200 women throughout his life. Dem mutton chops and that voice is the key, and he will be missed. RIP Lemmy, we bow down to the King of Kings!

This list just goes to show how similar most of their songs were, "fans" have just come out of the woodwork now that Lemmy has died, which is of course a tragedy, but a lot of people need to stop acting like they were fans because they knew one or two songs, probably through Triple H themes
That phenomenon happens every time a famous artist passes, we should be used to be it tbh. On the other hand, Motörhead was one of very few bands that pulled off the use of a very simple formula but still never disappointed
+Tony O'Kane I knew more than 2 and I didn't get into Motorhead because of HHH. I got into them because I saw a Dragon Ball Z AMV using Born to Raise Hell.
+Tony O'Kane Even if aspects of it are true, motorhead was among the earlier pioneers of speed metal and other legendary musicians respect the band a lot(even before he died) for what it brought to the scene.

Solid list and thank you WatchMojo for honoring the memory of Lemmy. As one of the Motorhead fans, my personal favorites would be different. That is part of greatness of this band, they made so much amazingly powerful music. RIP Lemmy, your music is your undying gift for your fans.

Pretty much the entirety of "The World is Yours" album, with special emphasis on "Born to Lose" and Brotherhood of Man" and an extra mention to "Don't Let Daddy Kiss Me"; a very different kind of song for Motorhead. BTW; number one? Called it the moment I saw this video in my recommended section. Now excuse me; I think I put my neck out headbanging...
Very difficult to narrow down all of the great Motorhead songs to a list of just 10. But just for the hell of it, off the top of my head: 1. Overkill 2. Ace Of Spades 3. Killed By Death 4. Burner 5. Out Of The Sun 6. Blackheart 7. Jack The Ripper 8. Make My Day 9. Dancing On Your Grave 10. Mean Machine
I must admit at first I didn't like the band that much but as I started listening to more of their stuff I came to realize that Motörhead is such awesome band I mean a lot of their songs are just fantastic & they my 4th Favorite Heavy Metal band Of All time & they are the 2nd Best NWOBHM band of all time & Lemmy is an absolute legend May he rest in peace Motörhead lives forever
Choking On Your Scream from Bad Magic album. A vocal line is really awesome!!!! And also intro and main riff is one of the heaviest on this album. R.I.P Lemmy. i wish they didn't have time to perform this song live...
Dusty record shops,12 inch 33rpms,No Sleep till Hammersmith,No Sleep at All,Iron Fist,Rock N Roll,Orgasmatron,Ace of Spades, those were the days, grit and gravel, raw Rock music like only Motorhead made,R.I.P. Lemmy,a one off that we'll never see the likes of again.💀💀💀

+Steve27775 good one bro

+Steve27775 What a beautiful sentence.
He'll look like the Motorhead logo itself.
Honestly, I've never been much into metal and Ace Of Spades is the only Motorhead song I know. But, it's one of my favorite metal songs. Along with Ride The Lightning, War Pigs, Fade To Black, Hangar 18. RIP Lemmy.

+JakRizen2 Motorhead are Rock!
+Obscure Developer (William Croke) So we're gonna Motörhead on his name? haha
No i mean there genra is Rock!
Obscure Developer They kinda delved in both man.
He said him self he is rock and is not metal
No 1916? Love me forever? We are motorhead? I guess top 10 is too short.
a true fan i see, to put ace of spades at no1 is ridiculous, maybe the most catchy song but far from the best
Love me forever is my favorite
I'd personally replace Orgasmatron with Going to Brazil, but at the same time, they need to honor the entire 1916 album.
Eat the rich was f#@king awesome man, it's an shame that it's not on the list and also "I don't believe a word" was pretty cool too.
You hear us watchmojo we need an update or a top 20 list
Rest In Peace Lemmy you will be loved and forever missed

Motörhead wasn't a heavy metal band. They played rock'n roll, as Lemmy always said.

+wingchun2601 brotherhood of man?
There are many songs of his better than king of kings.
honestly, of all three Motorhead songs Triple H used or is using, King Of Kings is so seldom heard and isn't as quickly associated with Triple H as The Game or Line In The Sand
BlackDevilGamer agreed it should have been there

Pretty much the entirety of "The World is Yours" album, with special emphasis on "Born to Lose" and Brotherhood of Man" and an extra mention to "Don't Let Daddy Kiss Me"; a very different kind of song for Motorhead. BTW; number one? Called it the moment I saw this video in my recommended section. Now excuse me; I think I put my neck out headbanging...
"Fast and Loose" should've totally made this list
Very difficult to narrow down all of the great Motorhead songs to a list of just 10. But just for the hell of it, off the top of my head:
1. Overkill
2. Ace Of Spades
3. Killed By Death
4. Burner
5. Out Of The Sun
6. Blackheart
7. Jack The Ripper
8. Make My Day
9. Dancing On Your Grave
10. Mean Machine
Why is in the description written ''A heavy metal band''? They said:'' We are Motörhead and we play Rock ´n´roll''
