Oh yeah they are from my place. We use to catch them as kids. When rivers flooded during the monsoons they came inland via canals build for irrigation purpose. So cute though. Even I wanna keep.

Oh wow!!! That’s amazing, there are less and less of them nowadays, thankfully these guys were bred in captivity

Hi, I just found your channel and binge-watched all your videos. I think you are a great scaper and really love how you specialize your aquascape for bettas, because I do the same. Not so many aquascaper want to dedicate all their tanks only for betta. If you crave for more movement in your tank, you can add some tankmates for the betta. Otocinclus and Harlequin Rasbora are my two favourites.
I think you should keep making the video and keep us updated about your previous tanks, even if you make mistakes or something, because we can learn from other experience. Algae attack is normal for the hobbyist and as far as I know, carpet seed is not good for long term because they will keep growing until they will emerge from the substrate, so if you want green carpet in your aquarium, you can try dry-start-method with moss (you can try also the yoghurt method).
And for the hang-on filter, you can add ceramic rings or any other small bio media in the filter below the sponge/dacron. It helps a lot because they work as home for beneficial bacteria that keep the ammonia low, so you don't need to do heavy maintenance all the time. There are a lot of substrate that works as bio media too (you put them first before sand, gravel, etc). You don't need to wash them (or you can wash them with tank water) to keep the beneficial bacteria alive, so you just need to wash the sponge when you do the maintenance. You also just need to do 20-30% water change weekly and 50% monthly for the same reason.
Hope this can help and keep you active with the channel, good luck!
