Today a bought a brand new Hyundai IONIQ electric. Liquid grey color. Premium. Drove also a demo IONIQ electric. Fantastic, wat an amazing car. Comfortable, ferry quiet, and a lot of options. 29 of July I get my new IONIQ. CAN'T wait haha. Thanks for you great review video's helpt a lot to make the choice 👍
Great overview video. Nice details of the screens & buttons gave me a good idea on what to expect from the car. Looking forward to receiving my new Ioniq in 2 weeks after waiting nearly 9 months- darn Coronovirus!
Indeed, what a nice car. Finally I picked up my brand new Hyundai IONIQ electric last Wednesday 😅 liquid grey. And of course the premium. It's an wonderful piece of technology. Ful of a lot of options and safety features. The drive quality is great nice and smooth. And I get easy around 350km uit of one full battery 🔋 Thanks for your video's. It helped a lot for choosing a good electric car. Thanks and I wil definitely stick around 👍👍👍👍
Its a good thing with the electric parking break not being on automatic when you park the car. Let me give u an example: Here in norway when its - 25 out side and u have the breaks on, it can get stuck and be damaged when u try to get it loose by driving.
Great RUclips channel👍👍👍 I really thinking to go for a new electric car. Now I have a Smart electric 451. It's nice and cool. But the range is a big downside. A checked a lot of ev's. And in my opinion, The Hyundai Ioniq is a good choice. It's a "normal" sedan. Looks good. Range is oke. And a lot of options. And you give a really good review
Chris, I assume that the Drive Info at 9:02 will reset when ever you fully charge battery to whatever level you set. That's pretty common. I have that on my Chevy Bolt EV.
e-tron 50 for a 470€ lease plan (3 years and 62.500 km in total) is a way better choice cause if you pay for this car 40000€ than you will have a depreviation of 40-5=% or 18.000€ for sure in 3 years and 60.000 km.... and that is the whole amount you pay for the e-tron with a lot higher tow capability and good highspeed charging. 38 kWh is just a bit more than that of the e-Golf and that is priced at 21.000€ ! The new front of the Ioniq is also not what I would ever buy. I would go for the e-tron to lease or an e-Golf cause the ID.3 feels to me overpriced in 1 or 2 years due to too higher competition in the 30.000 - 40.000€ price range.
Nice review Chris, and it is a nice car for sure, I missed your live stream but watched it later. Curious to know how much charge you had left when you reached the charger, and, hopefully next trip you make we will be able to see your dog. How does the parking brake physically work?
It is a very nice car but its 10%+ more than a Leaf here in NZ and I suspect more like 20% when you compare specs and we have to pay for all services as well :(
It IS very nice! I considered buying the old version, but I had to have premium plus with the electric adjustable seats to get the best driving position. So limited options for sale and quite high second hand prices. I ended up buying a year old Zoe instead as my first EV. Very happy so far, but that Ioniq is a different level for sure. BTW what is utility mode?
@@dalegas76 I got a 2019 Zoe ZE40 R110 Intense. Range is good enough for me as a commuter and daily errands. Just need to charge at home every three days or so, and then I only charge from about 35% to 80%. I just have the schuko granny cable so far, so charging takes looong time. Getting a Zappi installed next week though. Driving is very nice, it's a quite comfortable ride. Sitting a bit high as seats don't adjust in height, but it's fine. Leans a bit in roundabouts if you push it. Not a sporty car but still fun to drive. Drives like a bigger car actually. Relaxing and stable. Back seat is a bit tight for adults, enough space for most but not more. Trunk is bigger than the Fiesta's that it replaced, even I have the double floor that hides Bose sub and cables. Some things like the dash feels cheap, the new version is much better there, but you can pick these up cheap now when people want to trade up for the new model. :D
I doubt it. The heatpump still uses a lot of energy, and the colder it gets, it transitions over to resistance heat, anyway. Heated seats and steering wheel can be used to stay warm, for MUCH less energy in either car. The only time that a heat pump helps is when you have to use the defroster, to clear the windows. This is why it is very disappointing the VW isn't installing the direct heating defroster like in the e-Golf.
help i seen a video saying what the differences between the standard version ioniq and the SE version 1 item is the leather seats but cant remember what other things the differences are for the price difference. can you help
Just pause and think what can you get for 43000 euros . These prices probably, reflect the government subsidies, and the excess money will go to the car company and not the ordinary person buying the car. So the people effectively don't get any subsidy. Just wait for more compition.
Hi Chris! May i have a few questions for you? The car has BlueLink, which means it has a sim card. Does it mean that the map softver can update OTA? Is there any live traffic information in navigation? Is there any Lane Guidance in the new navigation? Thank you. :)

No, it resets after a few hours when the car is stationary.
@@BatteryLife wow, that is weird. I agree with you.
@@BatteryLife There is a menu where you can change between reset manually, every drive and after every time you charge it.

How does the parking brake physically work?
2%, Parking brake via button. Disengages when gear in drive. But manually when you go into park.
It is a very nice car but its 10%+ more than a Leaf here in NZ and I suspect more like 20% when you compare specs and we have to pay for all services as well :(
In Europe Chademo doesn't make any sense anymore.

As I understand it, it lets you stay in the car with heating or cooling on, doors locked and ''ignition'' off

So, how does the Zoe goes on range and driving daily use?
I will get a Zoe Press car in the end of June. Then I will tell you.

With the heat pump the range in the winter could potentially be more than an ID.3 without a heat pump?

200W just to power the electronics. Less than 1% an hour but still, if you've got 20km to go and you're down to 5% battery....
Every other car with a digital Instrument Cluster and Infotainment Screen needs 200W as well.
At least this car is telling you ;)
@@BatteryLife Right, that's interesting. Seems an awful lot though when an LED light bulb is about 6W for instance.

Ioniq can be ordered with 3 trims. Many differences. Check hyundai website for the list
I drive the Ioniq 28kW. The drive is very smooth and comfortable. I'm very happy with it. But I still think the car looks quite boring.
True, looks are not its strength. ;)
what did you do with the previous version car you had of the Ioniq?
I never owned an Ioniq. The first I got from a dealer for a few dayd. This is a press car from Hyundai. I have it for 2 weeks.

was the bag of weed an optional extra?

Hi Chris! May i have a few questions for you? The car has BlueLink, which means it has a sim card. Does it mean that the map softver can update OTA? Is there any live traffic information in navigation? Is there any Lane Guidance in the new navigation? Thank you. :)
Don't know about the map update.
But there is online weather info, traffic info. It has Lane guidance on the highway.
First
No head-up display, that's annoying.
Charging speed is ridiculous.
