@@KQ3Q It seems we always having something happen. HiHi ! Thanks for the AS (wait) tip. Hopefully next time I'll remember when we are in the middle of the craziness! 73, Becky N4BKY es Mike N4FFF
Thanks Mike! Someone coined hubby as my own local QRM ... HiHi. It definitely adds a fun challenge when things get a little crazy. 73, Becky N4BKY es Mike N4FFF
Amazing keeping focused, Becky, while Mike was being attacked by fire ants. Note to self, besides a good place for antenna, check surroundings for possible bug invasions. Great job to both of you!
Thanks Shantel, It was definitely a comedy of errors but we had fun and can only laugh about it!! We keep adding to our "note to self" list as well 🙂 73, Becky and Mike
Thank you Phil, glad you enjoyed and hope you like the speaker! We are having fun and hope it comes across to help get others out there too! 73, de Becky N4BKY es Mike N4FFF
Coastal dune lake!!! Epic! I may need to head down south this winter. I have a feeling I’m gonna get some serious warm weather fomo come January here in Utah. 73
It was definitely a great location even though it had some challenges! You should for sure shoot for some beachy activations this winter! 73, Becky N4BKY es Mike N4FFF
Thank you Carlos! We really enjoyed meeting you and spending some time story telling with you! Hope to actually get you in the log sometime from the "air" :-) 73, Becky and Mike
This is so cool, I bought a key today and I'm getting a license just because of the CW POTA. I live adjacent to a state park, we spend a lot of time in them already.
I sometime will go off frequency when hunting by a couple Khz to make my tone different than others and hopefully stick out a little more to the ear. It's a trick I learned from someone once.
Thanks for the tip, we have heard that too and tried it a few times. Initially that's what we thought, but then realized they were waaaay off hunting another park 🙂! 73, Becky N4BKY es Mike N4FFF
The opposite sideband rejection on the QCX is about 50 dB, so you can hear a strong station that is around 1400 Hz lower than your receiving frequency, albeit 50 dB weaker. So it's good to avoid the part of the band where there are strong signals present. The opposite sideband rejection on the QMX is 70 dB, much better. This is one of the reasons I built a QMX. I still keep my QCX though. They are both cool QRP radios. Thanks for the video. ND6P
That's definitely good information to know. We have a QMX mini on order and can't wait to try it out. QRP is so much fun and we hope that opens it up even more for us! 73, Becky N4BKY es Mike N4FFF
Ever had something come up while trying to do pota? How do you tell everyone BRB? 😂
Oh yes! It has happened to me when I have military jets flying over. I send the prosign AS (wait). 🙂
