I’ve watched a lot of content from this year’s Gralloch and your footage is by far the best at best I’ve seen. Thanks for the time and effort you put in.
Brilliant race review and a superb result. The wife and I booked it around Christmas time like you. We only got the gravel bikes a couple of years ago. Done a few Glorious gravel events so fancied a race. Had absolutely no idea what the UCI was until I started watching RUclips vids about the Gralloch. I started in the group after you and like you started off steady (probably to steady) but eventually got going after about 20km. No crashes or punctures and finished in 4hours 52mins and the wife 5hours 32mins. We were both so happy just to finish. Super well organised and the weather was amazing well apart from the storm afterwards which flooded our tent. Defiantly have another go next year and I'll put more training in for a faster start.
Thanks mate. Sounds like you both did great rides too 👏👏👏. Amazing weekend - superb organisation, great route and the weather was the icing on the cake ( pleased I missed the rain 🤣 ) I've got a taste for gravel now so looking at a few events later this year in the run up to Belgium in October.
Loved the narrative and footage Dave. Great insight into the event and your personal experience. One subscriber gained. 17 riders on the roadside, my lucky number!
I saw 17 riders by the side of the road! Brutal Gravel! 😂. Another banger Dave! And congratulations on the placing, I know you were super nervous going into this so it’s great it’s all paid off!
Great coverage Dave. Just catching up today after weekend away at Ride London. More crashes, punctures and mechanicals at the event than Gralloch 😂. I counted 15 but seems I’m way off compared to what others saw 😁
Good effort! I think it's good to mix up disciplines every now and again, learn new skills that can help on the road or vice versa. I recently got into road riding after mainly riding MTB, which I think has helped with bike control. Good luck for the next one. Think I saw 15 riders on the side, not ideal for them 😅
Yeah I agree mate. I'm looking forward to the next gravel event now... Mental how many riders had issues. I was mega lucky on that front. Thanks for watching 👍
Another great video Dave. Just out of interest what kit did you carry on an event like this? Do you have a camelback on? Possibly an idea for a future vid?
Hey thanks for watching and the great idea! Much appreciated. I winged it through this one - I had 1 tube / 2 CO2's / multi tool and a tubeless repair kit - thankfully I didn't need any of it.
Thank you mate.... I'm not sure either, but the judges decision is final 🤣..... I'll pick a winner in a couple of weeks, so keep an eye on the channel 👍 Thanks for watching.
This was actually the best I've ridden the descents on gravel, but I still didn't have the balls to let off the brakes and rip. I think it's more coming from a road background and just not having the confidence to let the bike move around under me on the gravel... Hopefully, I will get a few more rides in on gravel between now and the world's, and I'll be right. I ran 28psi, tyres felt OK... What would you recommend ( I'm 76kg BTW... ) Thanks for watching
@@daveridesagain I’m from an MTB background, but took up gravel about 5 years ago. Run 25psi in my 50’s, but no inserts - think inserts are overkill for your weight. Try a dropper, it’ll give you confidence, and then when you don’t need to use it - don’t use it.
Competition winner announcement! And the winner is...... Lee Wright! Well done Lee and thanks to everyone who watched and entered.

Thank you mate. I enjoy making these videos, its really nice to get feedback from viewers that are enjoying them. 😊👍
Brutal - Beautiful - Brilliant…what a fantastic weekend Dave .. roll on the Worlds & ya camper van 😉
Haha.... class weekend mate. looking forward to worlds trip in October 👍

You've got to mate. It's one of the best 👌

Congratulations mate! Another top edit also! Right up my street this one I think!
Didn't know you still rode a bike tbh mate!! Lol!! Let me know if you fancy a gravel ride at some point and we'll get it sorted.
@@daveridesagain It is debatable 😁

Never seen so many riders have mechanicals... Crazy 🤯
@@daveridesagain as you say in the video, there’s only so much prep you can do and the rest is luck when the conditions are like that.
Hi Lee. CONGRATS! You're the winner of the comp! Drop me a DM with your address over on Insta and I'll get your prize out in the post.
Well done Dave, super effort especially qualifying for a WC’s 💪. Oh, and I counted 16 mechanicals 😎
Thanks, mate. I surprised myself with how well it went... Great event 👍
Fantastic video once again Dave 👌I counted 19 at the side with mechanical problems Dave.
Thanks Gary 😊 👍
Great video, 17 casualties I counted but bet you seen a lot more 👍🚴♂️
Just a few mate. It was crazy 😳
I saw 17 but scary to think how many actually had issues in total. Great effort champ
Thank you mate.

Weather was worse as well I think mate! Carnage!! Thanks for watching.
Well done. I counted 14. Hopefully the prize is the canyon or one of your spare tarmac s 😅
Haha, maybe not that decent mate 🤣.

Definitely 17 casualties (i think) 😅😅 on next years list of events, i chose dirty Riever this year. Great riding 💪💪
Thank you mate.... you should definitely give this a go next year 👍
@@daveridesagain it looks like similar terrain albeit shorter, loved the 200k reiver.

Great video, great ride! not sure if all had issues or where just smoked from the climbs. counted around 17 on the sideline
Thank you mate....

Great video! One for next year for me for sure, counted 18 riders?
Thanks mate, get it done 👊
17! Christ 😂 think this’ll be on the event list for next year
Absolutely mate, it's great 👍
Awesome video and a great review. 18 riders?
Thanks mate :-)
Hi mate great ride hope you don’t mind me asking what was your np for the duration of the race ?
Hey not at all mate. Normalized was 253 for the 4 hours.. Thanks for watching.
Noice how many kg do you weigh boss?
If you’re struggling on descents, try a dropper.
What pressures were you running in the 47’s?

Definitely some fomo from not entering, probably going to do it next year. Counted 17 riders with mechanicals
It's a great event mate, you should definitely give it a go! 👍
Good job on qualifying. I was at 3:54, 24th over the line. Should have held up a bit and got myself on the camera :-)
Awesome mate, well done 👏
See you in Belgium?? 👊
