      Viserys set the precedent of choosing personal desire over political advantage in Alicent vs Laena. When he told Rhaenyra to seek out her own match, find one which pleases her, like he did, he's indicating that he's ok with Rhaenyra choosing someone not powerful, as long as she's happy.
      It's true Ser Criston is off the list the moment he was sworn into the Kingsguard, but don't forget that the King has the power to release him from his oaths, so technically he can brought back (although realistically I doubt Viserys would be willing to).
      If Ser Criston had never joined the Kingsguard, however, I do think he's a frontrunner. Rhaenyra definitely likes him, he's proven his worth as a warrior after besting Daemon, and he's an anointed knight. The realm might not agree to this match, but Viserys would probably be cool with it if Rhaenyra asks.

    A minor bug: Aegon I did not have "Rhoynars" in his title, as he did not manage to conquer Dorne. The official title of the iron throne from Aegon I on had long been "King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of Six Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm", until Daeron II peacefully introduced Dorne into the Seven Kingdoms.

    • @enrajbroin
      @enrajbroin Год назад +3

      A minor bug: Aegon I was an arrogant piece of shit and the text states directly that he did use the title King of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm. He claimed Dorne even though he failed to conquer it. The six kingdoms thing is a fan misconception that is textually wrong. The lorebooks directly point out Aegon used this title even though he hadn't actually conquered Dorne.

      Not a bug, he had Rhoynar in his title. English monarchs did something similar in claiming France when they didn't rule it.
      This is from Fire and Blood. "Three days later, in the Starry Sept, His High Holiness himself anointed Aegon with the seven oils, placed a crown upon his head, and proclaimed him Aegon of House Targaryen, the First of His Name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm. (“Seven Kingdoms” was the style used, though Dorne had not submitted. Nor would it, for more than a century to come.)"
      So it is right to title him that way.

    2:38 Aemon didn't marry his sister, only Baelon did. Aemon marry Jocelyn Baratheon that makes Rhaenys cousins with the Baratheons. In the first episode of the show, in the tournament that King Viserys held to joyfully announcing that Queen Aemma has gone into labor, just before a knight from House of Baratheon fight in the arena, he rides up to the royal box to receive the favor from Princess Rhaenys and call her "Cousin". Rhaenys and her husband, Corlys Velaryon, have a good relationship with the Baratheons.
    Jocelyn Baratheon is actually Aemon's aunt, because Jocelyn is the daughter of Rogar Baratheon and Alyssa Velaryon who is also the mother of The Old King Jaeherys I. Alyssa Velaryon remarried to Rogar Baratheon after his husband, King Aenys I, passed away and her son, King Jaehaerys I, took the crown.

    So, what I've understood of your videos on Royal houses and the succession of thrones is;
    Unless otherwise forced by circumstance, males were preferred to take the throne
    If there was no sons and only a girl, the girl would inherit the throne.
    If a girl is the eldest legitimate child of the reigning monarch, but a younger boy is born, the boy inherits the throne.

    Basic things the show change to the books.
    Alicent was 18 when she married Viserys. She was 19 when she gave birth to Aegon II. She was the one that gather the green council and she didn’t like Rhaenrya. She was the GREEN QUEEN. She consciously declare a silent war to a 10 years old Rhaenrya before Rhaenrya was even made aware of things. Alicent actively made her children fear and be paranoid of Rhaenrya. She strongly dislike Daemon. She wasn’t alone in court she had her brothers and cousin with her.
    Rhaenrya: she wasn’t lonely, angry, not into marriage, cold, bitter little child she was in the show. She was the light of the court. The realm delight. She was her father’s cup bearer since age 8. She trail behind her uncle since she was 7. She was enamoured with him. Their bond was really deep, and Viserys adore her. They had a very warm relationship. She was closest to laena. She loved dancing, jewelry, hunting, sailing, flying. She became the black queen and begin to have her own council of men following her after she married lord Laenor. Harwin and her were together only 4 years until harwin died and she married daemon 6 months after Laenor died at the age of 23.
    Criston Cole. One year younger than daemon. Came to service to the princess when she wad 10 years old. He basically groom her and took her V card when she was 14. He begin hating Rhaenrya and became the Vice President of the Rhaenrya whore shaming club.because the president was Alicent. He allied himself with Alicent because they both wish to see Rhaenrya dead. He was the one that combine Aegon to take the crown as he told him Rhaenrya would kill him and his family if he didn’t.
    Otto.otto didn’t lose his job because of Rhaenrya. He lost his job because he and Alicent were annoying as F about having Aegon II become heir instead of Rhaenrya. They try to have Aegon II be Bethoted y yo his 10 years older sister Rhaenrya do Viserys could send Alicent and otto because he was married to Alicent but he did send otto away. He gets replace by Criston as hand of Aegon because of the same reason stepping over his role. He gets kills in the fall of king’s landing.
    Viserys: he was worse when it came to his favouritism with Rhanerya however it wasn’t because he loved aemma more than Alicent. He was close to Helaena as well. He wasn’t sick like in the show. He was ill the last two years of his life. The greens hide his death for almost a week so they could crown Aegon. Not because Alicent misheard Viserys but because They have planned that from 107 AC to 129 AC when Viserys died.
    Daemon. Daemon was loved in the city of kinglanding. He was name the prince of the city. Daemon was married by force at the age of 16. Consummated his marriage and was in the step stones when Rhae died. Came to the vale like two weeks after being informed lady Jeyne Arryn kick him out. He went to drifmark he duel Laena’s bethoted. He left to essos with laena were he married her and they were in pentos for one year. Then they came back to drifmark with Rhaena and Rhaena and Baela. Laena died of child bed fiber after 3 days she died in daemon’s arms. While Rhaenrya hold him. He marry Rhaenrya 6 months after the death of his wife. Aegon III was born the same year. Viserys didn’t like that they married in secret but allow it after the birth of Aegon. He basically raised the strong boys that is why he took it hard when Lucerys was killed. Mysaria wasn’t just his lady friend. She was his mistress since he was young and married to Rhae Royce. Mysaria was pregnant and lost the child in a storm. She lived in dragonstone with Daemon and Rhaenrya. And Rhaenrya was okay with him sleeping with both. He took nettles with him to the riverlands and when Rhaenrya asked for the head of the girl he let her free and went after Aemond.
    And so much more changes to the story basic line.

Valyria was inpsired mosty from ancient Rome, which was had a diverse mix of people who, regardless of skintone, were all considered Roman so it makes sense that a fantastical place inspired by Rome would also have more than one skintone.
