This video *ONLY* covers compatibility mode.
I appreciate you trying to lend a helping hand to those of us wishing they could somehow play some older games on Windows 10. Unfortunately for me F1 Challenge '99-'02 won't run. At least you gave us an option to try, so for that.."I Thank you"
Thanks for your very kind words, and just a reminder to check if the game is available on Steam?. As I tell everyone that the game QUAKE didn't run for me, on my CD/DVD - but found it on special on Steam for less than $2.00
@@SingleRacerSVR Excellent advice, I'll give it a try :)
Thanks so much for this. I would have never come close to figuring this out.
Brilliant pointing in the right direction!
My problem is that the game is recognized and installs, but once I click play it asks for the cd to be in the drive. The problem with that, is that the cd is in the drive. I managed to get it playing before, but now it wont.
Doesnt work for installing games off a disk :(
Technically Yes & No D Noss - in the example I use here, my version of Ford Racing 3 WAS a DVD Disk - but it was already a modern disk, so just the game wouldn't run, until I made the changes described. But your right in that an OLDER game I had, which was the original Quake, won't install from the disk due to an older software installation routine, that is (usually?) only compatible now with the 32bit Windows systems - but unfortunately WIN 7 & 10 are 64bit only now
BUT ALWAYS PLEASE CHECK STEAM D Noss - as I just bought the original Quake, which either Steam or the Game Devs have altered the files to run under Windows 7 & 10 - the difference is you download it directly from Steam itself. (I am right now playing the Original Quake). So whatever game you were trying to run --- if you really want to play it --- check if Steam sells it, and put it in your Wish-List till it is on Special maybe???
I haven't tried this, but I heard that if you install the game as an administrator the game will install.
dangit!
@@joestradamus75 how do I do that?
@@wyattcalhoon8047 right click on install icon, (or .exe) look for run as administrator. It may not work on every game.
oh wow i have been looking for my old game to work for years now and finally it does thanks!
ohhh fantastic. That is awesome to hear churstons, and thanks for the feedback.
السلام عليكم
Which means peace be upon you 💛.
Can thes work on games like assassin's creed 2 and batman Arkham city and games between 2005 & 2010 or no.
I just tried to fire up GT Lengends yesterday and was so disappointed when it failed. Thanks for the tip. Worked like a charm. Now I'll probably play it for 5 minutes and not again until it's obsolete again on whatever version of windows is out then. Lol!
Hahahaha - thank goodness that GT Legends is such a great game, that it's worth even playing it for that 5 mins ; )))
I want to play House of the Dead 3, that runs on XP, so I will try this.
Good luck with it Ibanez Fan (and if your talking guitars - go Joe Satriani ; ) - another tip that I got from other comments, was if your installing it from a CD, then if you can find the installation .EXE file that installs the game - right click on that, and install it as the Administrator as well which can sometimes help?
It didn't work. I tried playing a game from the 90s (I think), and it doesn't work.
That wallpaper 🤤
I have tried playing games from abandonware by using virtual clone drive. No problems mounting but cant install because its not compatible with 64bit system. Nothing in compatibility changes that. Any suggestions?
Mine is just a simple video guide, so no simple suggestions, cos as you say skeletorsminion - nothing can change a 64bit system, if the "compatibility" doesn't work. The professional sites get around this by having "dual boot" systems with an original 32bit Windows as the other operating system - but I don't know if you want to go down such a complicated path.... but I have heard that if you can click the ACTUAL .EXE FILE ITSELF (say within the virtual clone drive?) that installs the game, and run THAT in WIN7 compatibility mode - then it might install correctly - cos the game I talk about in this video, Ford Racing 3 is a 32bit game, so there must be a way? GOOD LUCK!!!
Omg bro you are a legend , our superman truly 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤍
Thanks for the compliments Gherbi - and happy gaming to you. ; )))
God bless you SingleRacer 🙏
I literally don’t have a compatibility tab instead I have a sharing tab
Are you perhaps already running Windows 11?, or your in a different country where the setting TABS are slightly different. (never heard of that before?)
I’m trying to get Hitman code name 47 to run on windows 10 64bit but it does not launch and I’m installing it from a CD and before I clearly remember seeing the Hitman.exe file but now I lost it.
Epic, if you have the CD - try doing the same thing FROM the CD first. In other words, look on the CD for the "setup.exe" file (or whatever file starts the install?). Then right click that and select an earlier version of Window in the COMPATABILITY TAB, and also select RUN as ADMINISTRATOR from the actual CD. the only other thing I can think of that can sometimes work (if you have the space?), is to actually highlight all the files on the CD - and copy them anywhere to your hard-drive, then install in the same way I mention above, and it can sometimes work. Best of Luck Epic Player 02
I did this to Commando games. The monitor change to smaller size of 640X480 (I am not sure the exact resolution but looks like 640X480), while the game is "no responding". I also tried DirectPlay and also did not get game launched.
One of my games doesn't have a compatibility option. It's at old game from 2007 that doesn't work properly. What do I do? It's called SpongeBob SquarePants Diner Dash 2 if you were curious.
I'm not exactly sure Alex - but it could be a safety thing from Microsoft Windows, so you don't install something your not suppose too?. There was a thing called VIDEO FOR WINDOWS that just won't run on a 64bit system. All I can suggest is to check on Steam if you use it. As they make the changes needed, and the game would/should be very cheap if it is listed?
Unfortunately, this doesn't work for me. The game will only open up in a very small window and is very laggy.
Eric, if you still have the game on - start it till it opens in that small window, then try hitting the LEFT-ALT & ENTER keys. That (usually?) makes most games/programs go full-screen. It probably won't help, but is at least worth a try if you still have it installed?
@@SingleRacerSVR Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, that did not work. Gonna have to figure out how to run it on a virtual machine, I suppose. That, or build a machine that runs Windows XP.
I just want to play Rayman 3: Hoodlum
Its been so long😭
Best way to overcome this is to install Windows 10 over top of the Windows 7 installation with your games installed and working.
Thanks for the advise Dallin - but I do recommend to everyone that you should consider making an IMAGE BACKUP of Windows if you can, just in case anything goes wrong. It has saved me a TON or reinstalling work before, being able to restore a corrupted Windows in the past...
@@SingleRacerSVR Your welcome and yes indeed. Thank you for adding that important note.
Appreciate it!
what about pre 2000 games , better dual os with windows vista or 7?
@@zilverheart Well, that is a good question. I don’t know. I will say, if your set up works. Don’t fix it!
Windows 10 is an iineffective prototype and make. Windows XP needs to come back. Big time. It's FARRRRR better. So many god damn games WON"T play on Windows 10. I shouldn't have to update 20 god damn steps with floating files all over east Christmas just to run something from the age of Direct X 8.1! Really you shouldn't! Games should be fun, not taking 2 hours just to install to play! Just bring it back. You'll be making a lot of old school gamers happy.
It didnt work for me, I tried to play a game from 1996 but when i tried it did not work😢😢
I really need help with this. I am not expecting an answer but my hopes are up today. I cannot run SimTower: The Verical Empire in my Windows 10 PC. I ran in Windows 95 mode and even Windows 98 and XP mode but it still does not even open. Can you please help me?
I have no answer Commandouglas - as the video was really only for those games that CAN? run this way - but i shall pin your comment to the top in the hope that someone else has a solution? (Best of Luck)
@@SingleRacerSVR Ok, thanks!
I have one game here name Heidi the game it's old game but it won't run 😭 please help me
Sorry Yasmine - but some games are just too old to run on 64bit modern PC's. I had the same problem with the game QUAKE, but was able to buy a working version on Steam. But I just checked, and HEIDI is not listed?
@@SingleRacerSVR 😭😭😭 so sad
hehe, sometimes works sometimes it does not.
I have been trying to install both F-22 Raptor (Not Lighting) and Jane's USAF, I have seen the formuns and patches, but both games have the requirement to have it installed, but none of these 2 do anything when I click install, it must be something with the bit systems incompatibility. We will see what else we can do.
@@dindrmindr626 the only thing blocking the installations was the asus armory exe I think. So I disabled it, changed the file name, then installed. I was able to play once, but it never worked ever again. And I left them there without trying anything else.
i want to play captain claw, a game made in 1997 but doesn't work on my modern pc
Did you try the earliest "compatibility mode" in the list (Windows 95/98). I'm afraid that the more the update Windows 10, the less likely these older games will now work. The only option left, is to hope they have been converted to work on Steam. My old game QUAKE did.....
every solution talks about "compatibility mode"...there is no compatibility mode on Windows 10 anymore...any solutions??
Sorry Jenn D, as I don't get that - as I am running Windows 10 64bit right now (currently Build 1803)- and if I highlight ANY .exe file (so the game you want to try to run) and right-click it with my mouse - I get 6 TABS, one of them being Compatibility Mode. I'm not trying to be smart, or suggest that your game will even run - but I did it for the game Ford Racing 3 on Windows 10 - and I am staring at COMPATIBILITY MODE right now, if I right-click on any .EXE file, game or otherwise???
I was playing Ea Cricket 2007 an older game a while back on my newer windows 10 without issues. But after months passed and I install it again it doesn't even open. Idk what's wrong with stupid windows 10
I think u can help me. Im trying to play zoo tycoon 2 but a large zoo that i did keeps crashing. The zoo has a lot of information and ive used the same program that fixes the crashin proplem on the sims 2. But it keep lagging and the game shuts. The sims 2 on my pc runs smoothly on max specs so zoo tycoon should play as easy. Do you have anay tips
No sorry Heitor - I am not an expert in these things. My only tip if that was me, would be to try each of the 'compatibility options" - say to run it as if it was under Windows XP etc, just to see if that would help, as well as clicking on the game icon itself, and making sure that the .exe file that runs the game is also set to "run as administrator" too. I'll pin your comment to the top for now, just in case other people who read it might have a solution for you... good luck.
@@SingleRacerSVR thanks a lot. I hope someone appears.
@Toss thanks for the help, but it looks like its the same problem from the sims 2. The game itself dont recognize multiple core or more than 2/4 gb of ram and with a large full build zoo with 600 people (i've changed the limit on the x200_001 files and some others) it cant process all the information. The sims 2 crashes when u have a big house with lots of forniture, but with a the program 4gb u can make the game recognize more than 2 cores or 16 gb of ram. Sadly there is no program for zt2. So i had to lower the pixel from the game and it runs almost flawlesly at a wooping 1280x1024... lol
I had run Mirror's edge catalyst on windows 10 and it had black screen.I read the requirements for windows 10.They were high.So i am going to try this method to make sure that works.
Best of luck Lilly, and I hope it works for you. But the black screen has been a common problem with WIN 10?
Tryna play the whole metal gear solid franchise hope it works
Did it?
I've been trying to run Apache VS Havoc off of gog and no luck. Nothing I've tried from the forums seems to work does anyone have any ideas?
Speaking of racing games: Superbike World Championship (Milestone, EA 1999) can not even be installed from the original disc. It always comes the message "%P does not run on Windows XP". No matter what settings I make in compatibility mode, it comes out the same. And VMs are very limited in graphics, so what can I do?
SzinThom - not sure if you know your computer history a lot, but the trouble is with some of the older games. It's not that the game itself won't run, it's the programs that often run with it that make it stop working/installing. The very best example is you cannot run a thing called "Video for Windows" that often used to play all the cut-scenes in older games. The only thing you can do is what I did for one game which was QUAKE, an old FPShooter. I had the CD also, but it wouldn't install - but Steam was selling it for less than $5. I know it's frustrating to repay for a game you already have, but they do all the "conversion work" for you - and the only other choice is learning how to do a "virtual windows" or whatever it's called - and that's just way over my head sorry...
Kind Gentle Man, i tried to Run IL-2 Sturmovik 1946. I Followed all the Steps. And yet it still doesnt run, Mind helping Me?
It probably won't run, if you have the CD. But if you have STEAM installed - it is on SALE at the moment for just $3.62 (but that's Australian Dollars). And it has all the files redone to run properly on your computer. That might be the only way to get a working version?
@@SingleRacerSVR I'll try that! Thanks a lot
2005 games like The Movies Stunts and effects??
Poldark, it's not so much the year of the game - but what it takes to run it?. If it's older 32bit software that won't run on Win10 64bit, there is not much you can do - other than to give it a try, or check if STEAM as an updated version like my old version of QUAKE that would no longer run on CD, but I found the converted & updated version on STEAM for just over $1 dollar... (on speacial)
sir, for me the screen is full screen but off-center 😭😭 how?
You could try to hit the LEFT ALT & ENTER KEYS together, and see if that re-centers it?
Ok so I'm really late for this party but I'll leave my question either way: What do you do when the actual SETUP.EXE don't execute?I keep getting a message saying "This program don't work on your PC" every time I try to run it :[
There is one thing you could try if you weren't aware you could do this Brandao130, as I have to assume you bought AC on Steam. But go into Steam and right-click on the game itself. The go down to PROPERTIES, and under the LOCAL FILES TAB, click on the VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES, and that could possibly fix it?
My Need for Speed most wanted 12 won't play but runs well showing black screen with a white circle on Windows 10 but did play well before
What must I do?
When you say "played well before" - do you mean on a previous version of Windows?. Because if you do, then I would recommend trying an EARLIER version of windows using that "compatibility mode" from the 1:31 mark in this video, to try to get it to pretend it's an earlier version of Windows. A further tip if you have it on CD, would be to uninstall it again. The if you know where it is (usually setup.exe) go to that install file ON THE CD ITSELF. Right mouse click that, and actually install it first in both compatibility mode, and as the administrator. I had heard after this video was recorded - that this can sometimes help in the installation, if you own the CD. Good Luck with it Kuzan SaGe.
I've done all this but it's still not working. I get all the way to the part where it says "loading 3D graphics" and that's it. I doesn't go any further
I want to run spiderman 2 enter electro 2001 but its not even opening and I dont see the compatibility tab. Im really confused.
But I can't even install it. So how do I even carry on where this video starts?
i have the Command and conquer generals download on windows 10 however whenever i try to run the app it says "AIL_stop_3D_sample@4 could not be located in game.dat" .... HELP ME PLZ
Sorry to hear that NeverDead141 - and I don't have an answer for you unfortunately, but I do have two suggestions. The first is to see if there is a "Command & Conquer Generals Forum" you could find, as they will nearly always come across the same problems that your facing. The other solution is that ORIGIN has a "Command & Conquer Collection" (it's the WHOLE SERIES, including GENERALS, and the game I wanted called RED ALERT 3) - and I only paid I think $5-10 ($20 at the very most, as I wouldn't have bought it then). But just like STEAM, all the files are changed to run properly under Windows 10 - as long as your O.K. with using ORIGIN to run it...…….. good luck, I hope you find a solution?
this 2010 James Bond 007 Blood Stone game doesn't open in my windows 11, compatibility settings doesn't work please help
This is helpful but can you advise, what should we do if the compatibility problem wont let you even install the older game on your newer PC.
The only other thing I know of Juan, is to insert the CD. And whatever file installs it (usually Setup.exe). You could try to right-click that file from the CD itself, then run that as both THE ADMINISTRATOR, and an older version of Windows, as I have heard that sometimes works. The main reason it doesn't, is the CD has older software needed to run it - a great example being "Video for Windows" - that was only ever designed for older 32bit systems. They simply can't run on the newer 64bit versions. But you could always check Steam to see if the game you want to run has been modified by Steam themselves - and you could pick it up cheap on this coming Black Friday sale?
@@SingleRacerSVR and Steam makes it painless to run and 4k if you wish.
bro how do u download racing games
plz tell me too
Most racing games are now downloaded from the Steam site, and you can usually play them online (connected) or offline too, if your Internet connection fails. I have heard of a new thing as well that I am yet to check out, that is called Microsoft Game Pass. Where I believe you pay an annual monthly fee and you can then download heaps.of games to play any time as long as you pay that monthly subscription.
@@SingleRacerSVR thanks bro
Yo Blood Stone is a big one that won't play!
Thanks mate 😊
I did the same thing with GT Legends and it still won't start
Damian that's a real surprise, as I was able to install mine - I even did a video on it showing the old game to some modern AC MODS, so try this. Assuming you have it on CD, put the CD into the drive - but instead of installing it - highlight all the files, and copy them over to any partition/drive where you have the free space. Now find the SETUP/INSTALL file, and right click that - and select the second line RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR and it should? install that way.... best of luck with it.
@@SingleRacerSVR Ok i'll try it with mods thank you
this works, maybe .0005% of the time
This helped nothing, this is just the same advice that ANY forums gives, i have already tried this on older games, and it doesn't work. I put the CD in, check the options, click ''run game'' and nothing.
I can't play Venom Codename: Outbreak on Windows 10. It says that I have to set the video configuration properly, but I can't find how. I'm so desperate about this, cause it was my childhood game and I want to play it so much

I doubt there is anything you can do., A modern (2022) game like this, would have higher "minimum" specs than you have?
@@SingleRacerSVR I can play older version ?
@@sagirasayyed4936 sorry, but I just don't know. Because if you don't have a graphics-card, you must have onboard graphics, which usually isn't very powerful. If you have a friend that knows about computers, they could maybe help you sort out what you could play (checking the games minimum specs?). Best of luck.
im trying to get sims medieval (a 32 bit game made for windows 7) to run on windows 10 and the compatibility stuff doesnt seem to be working for me. any ideas?
Sorry Prissy, but there usually is only one answer to that, if the "compatibility" thing doesn't work. And that is to check if the game you want to get to play (Medieval?) has it's own dedicated FORUM, like most of the games that I've played have. You don't have to join the forum, but if you did a Google search, it's usually the forum people that can tell you if it works or not?. In my experience, if the people in the games dedicated forum's can't get it to work, then it's usually not possible. Good luck with it though Prissy dixie - and sorry I couldn't help you any more.(ONE TIP TO TRY - IS THE PREVIOUS WINDOWS - TRY RUNNING IT UNDER WINDOWS XP COMAPTIBILITY MODE, JUST IN CASE?)
+Prissy dixie
The guy in the video does not really have any fucking clue what he is on about, the compatibility mode has to be turned on for the setup file basically you install the game in the compatibility mode.
The Sims Medieval should also work considering its from 2011, the only issues you should ever have with games in W10 is if they are from 2001 and older or if they are 16bit.
A quick search I found that this method worked for good deal of people.

Didnt work for 2007 game which is Timeshift
Does not work for Ace Ventura game.
Sorry to hear that Thanks Mate. But just remember to check if Steam sells the Ace Ventura game - as I couldn't get my old Quake game to run either. But Steam coders did the editing to the files, and now it Quake under Windows 10. (Only cost me $2)
I'm glad you got 90% man. Silent hunter 3 plus several others still wont run.
I've never had luck with "compatibility" mode.
Just tried to revert to win7 but my hardware is too new.
Nearly 30 years of old games....
Guess i'll have to build a damned retro box.
Thankyou for taking the time to comment Michael (great name, hahaha). I do know how frustrating it is, as although I got this one game to work in the video, others like QUAKE wouldn't run for me either. I was lucky to get Quake thru Steam though, as they fixed the files to make it run under Win10. On a side not - have you heard of the RUclips Channel called LINUS TECH TIPS, because if you are not subscribed - they said that they have an upcoming video at some point, on how to get older games to run on modern versions of Windows. Might be worth subbing just to see if they do that video to help you out?

Could angry birds work if I use this tutorial?
I think so, as it is a very common game. One thing you can try if you own it on CD/DVD and it won't install from the drive, is to try simply copying all the files from that disk to your actual harddrive, and see if you can install it direct from the harddrive itself, by right-clicking and run the install as administrator...

I want to play cnc generals zero hour because it's my childhood game
Asher, I have no fix on how to play the disk on Windows 10, if you already followed the video and it didn't work. But if you love the game that much, then I might have another solution. So as another DIFFERENT example, I could not get one of my favorite games QUAKE to run from my CD, but Steam had it for $1.68 on special once - but they did all the coding changes to get it to work perfectly on Windows 10. I just checked on Steam, and they don't have ZERO HOUR. But I know who does, and that is ORIGIN. And that is because I own a game called COMMAND & CONQUER ULTIMATE EDITION, that has the full 17 C&C games, including both GENERALS & ZERO DAWN as well as many many others. So just a suggestion that if you already own ANY ORIGIN game, meaning you can enter their software portal. You could check if either ZERO DAWN or the ULIMATE EDITION's are available on special anywhere from $2 - $20, if you love the game that much and are willing to pay for a working version? (P.S. I think I payed $15 for that Ultimate Edition from a retail Shop, back in the days when you could still buy DVD's.

Unfortunately there is only one answer to that some dude - but unfortunately that might not even get it fixed. This has helped me out occasionally, but it's not what your going to want to hear. But nearly all game franchises now, have their own forums dedicated to that specific game. So it's whether you either want to join that forum to find the answer - or just be patient and try and Google the answer. As frustrating as these stupid problems can be, I have still found that the answer might not be on PAGE 1 of the Google search, but hidden somewhere on page 3 or 4 where someone has typed a solution, but it doesn't get posted around that much. Sorry I can't help you, but good luck in your search.
sadly it did not work with Pariah
In other words the author is just talking from his hat. "Go to the dedicated forums good luck!". That should've been the title of this video.
I truly do appreciate your opinion Kyle... except for one little oversight. I ran a game FROM A DISK/DVD that didn't or couldn't run before the advise given here - so I'm just trying to share that info for the people that it might? help, not the people that it won't. The amazing thing is the windows 10 computer is probably 100x more powerful than the windows 8.1 computer, and the windows 8.1 is running intel hd graphics (cpu integrated graphics) wich specifically is listed on the game manual as WILL NOT WORK.. and yet it works lol... I'm confused, but my point is I have my old save game data safe on a USB, and would just simply like to have Test Drive Unlimited 2 on my new computer at max settings.. something I can't do on the old computer... it would probably catch on fire
Hi man

I really need your help.
Thanks for the help you are the best after this video I will subscribe
Thankyou Piet, but I will understand if you chose to unsubscribe - and I am mainly a "sim-racing" Channel, so I was simply trying to get my sim-racing game to work in this video - and guess what - it worked, hahaha
So if you don't enjoy my normal content, I can understand that. (but thanks for your feedback ; )))
I'm having a problem where the game runs extremely fast. How do I fix it? Because the compatibility does not work
I'm not sure what the program is called Trollololo - but I believe there is a little program, that limits the game to run at the correct speed - say similar to you setting a frame-rate of 60fps, and no faster.
So maybe do a Google search for something like "program to slow down my fast running game". Sorry I can't help Trollololo, but good luck with the search.....
Does anyone have any idea on how to get 007 Nightfire 2002 working on a 2015 TOSHIBA laptop? I am having serious tehcnical difficulties where it doesn't want to work. If someone can find out how to work this and tell me, I would be most grateful! I try and run it as administrator, it doesn't work. I try and run it normally, it doesn't work. I try and open it, it doesn't work. It is a real annoyance.
Where do you get these games from?
Confused by your question - but before Steam took over online digital purchases - all my old games were bought on CD/DVD in gaming shops like EBGames...
What about games requiring the disk to be in the drive to play it?
Zane, given that the usual problem is the program not starting - then by changing the setting to make you the administrator, then that SHOULD? theoretically get it to the point where it then starts up in the correct process, and then asks for the disk/CD to be inserted (still happens for me on the game Crysis). So as long as you have a CD player on the PC that should be no problem. But as an old computer user, you can't get around the fact, that it won't support old "installation files" that are now out of date due to no longer being supported by the newer versions of Windows. So an example of that was a thing called "Video for Windows, but that's going back many many years now.
I want to play B-17 Flying Fortress The Mighty 8th game...
it doesnt work for UltraFlexball2000
Dead space 1 0xc0007b what should i do
gt legends dont work(
It still probably won't work - but if you own the CD. Try just copying all the files off it to any free space on your hard-drive, Then right-click the installation file (or BAT file) and un that as administrator to see if that works. Otherwise, do a google search for a REMASTERED edition, as there have been may upgraded mods - but I don't know if that includes the FULL game or not? Best of Luck
I need help trying to play this game. it wont launch on my laptop. I have a hp pavilion 64 bit that has windows 10. is there any way you can help me to get this to work? I've tried compatability settings and all that, but nothing to help it. it's called from dusk till dawn
I understand your frustration, Film Freaks - but from this point I can only offer two more bits of advise to try and get it working. The first is the bleed'in obvious, which is a GENERAL Google Search for your particular game. But the way I have found to get most games to work under WIN 10 (if they do?) - and only you can decide if you want to do that though - Is to find out if THAT game (so Dusk till Dawn, in your case) has it's own Forum website, and then join the Forum. There is nobody more expert than other players of that exact same game - to tell you if it will run / if it does, how to run it / or confirm that it cannot run altogether... Sorry I can't be more help, but good luck with it Film Phreeks.
P.S. One final thing is if the game is on Steam - I owned the PROPER DVD DISK of the old game Quake, and it will not load under Windows 10 anymore, so I bought it for a lousy $1.67 or something like that, and it works perfectly under Windows 10 because Steam/The Company made the right changes to all the files of the game.
I have a game with all the files. It runs without a disk but I'm worried that the game wont work in the future
Do you back up stuff Retro?. I have had that case before, and I just use Windows to zip it all up in one file - and it usually always works again, when I unzip & replace it back to where I want to play it from...
@@SingleRacerSVRawesome, thanks!!😁😁
Hey dude.... My windows 10 was corrupted so i reinstalled windows 10 but right after I can't even play a single game in my pc... Please help me... 💯
Sorry Adam, but this was a simple solution - to a very general audience. Sounds like you need a tech expert... check out some of the more dedicated WIN 10 PRO Channels for help. Definitely out of my league. Good Luck though.
@@SingleRacerSVR Okkk i will check
i tried this to play morrowind and it does not work
I had the same trouble with QUAKE, some games won't and others simply won't Glenn...
Have you checked if Morrowind can be bought cheap on Steam? (I bought QUAKE fully working for $1.68)
My game does actually open. I can watch the opening intro with no problem. But as soon as the game starts, the picture just freezes.
When I move the mouse around I can hear that it's making sounds, so it kinda works, it's just the frozen picture. Is there anything I can do that anyone know of. Can't find any answers on google either. Really appreciate if anyone knows
Trying to find out the same
@@ronnieosgood6556 It worked for me to right click then go to compatability and switch to windows 98

How to play Fable anniversary on Windows 10

Your welcome berhane.. I hope it was helpful. Happy game playing to you...
When I download call of duty modern warfare 3 it gets me on a black screen do you know how to fix it?
No sorry, internet explorer - my guess would be that is it set to the wrong resolution, that doesn't match your monitor. But I wouldn't know how to change it, as I don't know that game?
Sleeping dogs is still not working. Please help me out
Mumtaz, I have no personal wish to play Sleeping Dogs - but I just did a "How to run Speeping Dogs under Windows 10" search, and found AT LEAST? 4 RUclips Video's that might help you out. So try that same search, but if they can't help you - then I'm afraid I can't help you either. Good Luck.
Hi Michael, pls help me with Virtual Cop 2. It just won't load
Sorry to tell you this Pratap - but I had that same game. It ran up to Win XP I think, but I couldn't get it to run under Windows 10 either. It a CPU timing issue I believe - as some games just never had a way to control how fast they played, so it would just speed up so much to be unplayable. There are just some games that don't age well...
Legoland works?
COUNTER STRIKE 1.6???
Is the problem start the game or is it ingame? i wanna play warlords 3 and i can play for a short time untill it stops anwsering and i need to go to "task manager" and shut it down. Anyone knows how to fix it please let me know. I am really starting to get desperat-.-
Simon, I can only give you one tip, but it is arguably the best for your situation. And that is to do a bit of research if there is a dedicated "Warlords 3" Forum. I can give general advise like in the video above, but as you know already it won't help much. If there is a Forum for this game on the Website of the makers of this game - they might have gone thru your problem already & solved it - or at least you will know for sure if it CAN'T? be solved.
@@SingleRacerSVR thanks for anwsering it means a lot
omg i cant believe this video........ we want to run old games you think we dont know about compatibility mode???
