    idk, i love elden ring but, i dont think the side quest is golden example. because without guides, I could not have finished the ranni's questline.

      That’s more a matter of how the side quest is hard to complete, but the concept behind it (the side quest opens up more parts of the game) is perfect for me.
      To be fair, God of War Ragnarok also has something similar although that side quest is extremely in your face, so even though it was a great surprise it didn’t feel like I personally uncovered something. But the baseline is the same
